Interesting because we do have the email from the shoreside concierge and they made no mention of making any dinner reservations for us.
This is unacceptable. You've paid a lot of money for your RS. I think I'd be giving someone a call.

Interesting because we do have the email from the shoreside concierge and they made no mention of making any dinner reservations for us. Nor did they say anything about the bar set up until i asked and then they gave me that info. Between this and the late boarding time they keep giving us, i get the feeling i have someone new or doesnt know what they are doing...

I enjoy the Hugo as my embarkation drink:
prosecco
elderflower liquor
club soda
lime
Served over ice. I was introduced to this on MSC. Ordered it on a Celebrity cruise but they didn't really make it the same and it wasn't served over ice. So I think MSC has the corner on this drink.

Don't make reservations in the app. Wait for your shoreside concierge to reach out to you with all your preferences. You can specify where/when you wish to dine and they will arrange it for you.

I believe the captain said that we might try later today but stepping out on the balcony there is a lot of wind out there.
Darn! I hope the wind tapers off so you can dock!

Flooding in my area, including my own back yard...and a pool that is literally over flowing... but the rain is tapering off. Heavy winds have moved in and should push things onward by afternoon when the sun is expected to make an appearance to hopefully start the evaporation of all this water.

If you enjoy a spin in the casino, you won’t find any on Azamara.

Apparently they have an agreement with the cruise lines and the ships will continue to be supplied. There was an article posted on the Ask A Cruise Question board with more detail.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like you took everything in stride! I’m really glad the casino personnel were able to help you with your ticket. I have cashed out and forgotten to grab the ticket before as well. Easily done!

BCM I know your cruise is nearing the end 😞 but I wonder if you will be delayed in your departure due to the storm? My daughter told me her friend’s cruise on RCL, embarking Saturday has been delayed. And my husband flew to PIT today and was told all flights to Florida and Georgia have been cancelled…could be the reason for the RCL delay. Just wondering if you’ve heard anything from MSC. Fingers crossed for a smooth departure.

Before blaming Celebrity, I would go back to the 3rd party vendor. Where did the money go? What does it show on a credit card statement? What proof do you have the vendor sent the money or sent it correctly?
Celebrity has already accepted responsibility per the email sent to OP claiming so. Not sure who else to blame in this unfortunate scenario.

Between you and @Best Cat Mom I've already gained the requisite 5 pounds of cruise weight in food porn alone!

Will be on Seaside YC and the Holiday Coffee looks so good, could you please share ingredients. Thank you. Love following the string!
I believe it is the following:
coffee
baileys
kahlua
coconut rum
I've written it down as well but it's not in front of me at the moment. My questions: Is this shaken over ice and then served over ice? and how do they get it so frothy?

Hi John! I am so sorry for my extreme tardiness to this party. I have plowed through page one. Looking forward to reading through the rest of your trip report and reliving my week in YC on board Seascape vicariously through you.
And I also see that after yours I will have the trip report from @Best Cat Mom to catch up on. Yay!
This will all be a welcome diversion from the approaching Hurricane Helene and my long 289 day wait until I embark a cruise ship again. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
Though I am still catching up on your latest cruise, it's so nice to see you pop in on the MSC board! And speaking of Miss Helene, she's currently dumping a deluge in my back yard making my abysmal satellite internet even more abysmal. I have lots of catching up to do between outages!

What a disappointing mess! I'm so sorry this happened. Please update the thread on your progress toward getting your expenses reimbursed.
I agree with @wrk2cruise, the FCC amount is not enough. I would reach out to the executive office (if you haven't already) and explain the circumstances. Indicate that you would like to give Celebrity another try in the event that they increase the FCC amount to something more commiserate with this type error.

You don't have to drink the "ready made mix" on Celebrity if you want an espresso martini. Just tell the bartender to make it from scratch and he will.
I didn't realize they had an espresso maker at the martini bar. Thanks for the tip!

They were delicious, as was the Sidecar I had for my nightcap.
I've added the Sidecar to the list of drinks I plan to try when we board...had to look it up when you mentioned it and it looks delicious as well!

am now sitting in the TSL enjoying an espresso martini and
I love a nice espresso martini. On Celebrity they pour them from a ready made mix and I don’t like them bc they’re too sweet. I believe on MSC they make them from scratch. Am I right? Yours looks delicious!

Agreed that this situation doesn’t sound good. If this happens, cruising will be the least of our concerns.
However, MSC employ their own cargo ships. I wonder if this will extend to personnel to both off load and reload to cruise ships.
The best we can all do right now is hope that an agreement is reached over the next 9 days.

Was your DW happy with her hair appointment? I've never booked a hair salon appointment on a cruise ship but was considering it for an up-do for our wedding anniversary.

Thank you for your review! I find that more often than not, people who are disgruntled about this or that are the ones most likely to leave a review...negative, at that. Though I take most with a grain of salt, it is nice to come across a positive one every now and then.
We embark Grandeur in April 2025 for an 11 night Med cruise. It's pricey and reading negative reviews one after another can make one who is unfamiliar with the brand, such as myself, begin to second guess. Between your review and a recent posting on Youtube by a very tall travel agent, I'm feeling pretty good about our decision to give her a try.

We dined at the Porch for lunch on a sea day and it was very nice...though very warm despite the circulating fan. No need for a reservation...they never seemed to be all that busy during lunch hours.

Thanks ... too bad. Embarkation lunch is always a challenge when booking AQ. Not a big fan of the crowds at the buffet. Would love it if Blu would be open for lunch ... just a wish. Would even pay for an MDR Embarkation lunch.
Have you tried Sushi on 5 for embarkation day lunch? This is our go to when the MDR and Luminae are not an option.

I was not impressed with boarding today. Nor the process in the YC check in. When we entered we were asked to take a seat so we did. Others ahead of us and some behind were were also asked to take a seat. Then other that came in after the seats were filled were allowed to go to the counter and check in. At one point I saw a break in the line at the check in counter and went to approach the counter was again asked to take a seat.
This scenario is unacceptable! I think I might have been a little less gracious after being told to take a seat a second time.
Question: do all YC guests have the same muster station or did you have to stop at various places?

The wait staff have always asked if one has any dietary restrictions upon greeting the table and will make adjustments as needed. They will also let you take a look at the next day's menu ahead of time so that you can order in advance and allow the chefs to adjust to whatever the restriction may be. I believe there is a "special needs" email (not sure where) that you can complete with the dietary restriction information as well. If you used a TA, I would start there and see if they can set you up with the appropriate contact.

Op, thank you for coming back! There's obviously a lot to figure out. I am really wishing you the best outcome possible! Should you cruise again, I really encourage you to visit CC often as there is a wealth of information here and I have learned so much in the way of helpful advice over the years.
