Do you happen to remember the room number for deck 9? I am taking my mom and she is really looking forward to hanging out on the balcony so just want her as comfy as possible 🙂

They are a separate category Large balcony cabin.

Here is a picture I got previously on CC it is the Breakaway but it is the same as the Getaway.

Closer and with a sandy beach (plus a separate snorkel area) is Chankanaab park - plus it offers nature trails, animal shows, and an opportunity to swim with the dolphins for a big fee -- but it comes with a $20/per person admission fee.

Thank you. I hadn’t thought to look at here. It may be a better option as $60 is much better than $177 for nachi cocom for the 3 of us. The taxi would be less & also the journey not as long.

    Where do live in Turkey?

We lived in Adana while my Dad was stationed at Incirlik.

Miss the food there sooooo much.

For relaxation in Cozumel, I can't recommend Nachi Cocum enough.

Gorgeous facilities, fantastic meal included in the price, plus drinks.

We aren't huge drinkers, but to us, Nachi Cocum is worth the price for the peace and quiet and gorgeous beach and pool.

They have a strict limit of visitors each day, so it rarely ever gets loud or busy.

(been to Nachi at least 4 times and only once did it get even slightly loud on a full day, for just a few minutes. Definitely not a pumping music party place)

It is like a 15-20 minute cab ride to get there and then back.(from Carnival or RCCL's pier next door)

I think the price is still $17-20 for up to 4 people each way.

If you are looking for the most inexpensive, closest to the piers spot, then Money Bar is probably a good choice.I believe it has a rocky shore versus sandy beach.

Hope you find a place that tuens into your perfect beach day, like we have with Nachi Cocum.

We live in Fethiye/Mugla, I’m originally from England but my husband is Turkish.

We run a small hotel in Oludeniz.

Nachi Cocom looks fabulous & that’s really the type of beach we are wanting but without the all inclusive as I don’t think we will get the value.

Maybe my husband &  I can eat there & daughter can snack & then eat in the town later. We are not day drinkers either (otherwise I would be asleep by 6pm)

We are cruising Ncl so will be at Punta Langosta pier in the town.

Just checking in... It seems like readership is down from my prior Scarlet Lady review, but I equate that mostly to the general lack of traffic on that board... It's like if Simon and Garfunkel played at a club in Brooklyn (Virgin Voyages board) as opposed to Madison Square Garden (Carnival, NCL, Royal Caribbean)... Either way, I'm having a pretty good time, though still having trouble trying to stay busy all day. I've pretty much seen everything there is to see on this ship, other than the entertainment, which I'm not really interested in. Anyhoo, hopefully you're all doing well, and I'll see you over on the Scarlet Lady review:)

Just seen you have the “rare” logo. Congratulations.

    Loving the review.

Palancar is the furthest beach south and the most expensive taxi especially since you will probably dock in town on NCL.

The good news is IF you dock in town AND want to go to the beach you will only have to get two taxis instead of a third one back to port after eating in town.

Any particular reason you want to eat in town? In order to use the facilities and loungers at the beach you will be expected to purchase “some” food and/or drinks. There are several locations like Money Bar, like @JohninDC suggested with “sandy areas” with loungers where you can relax with a drink on a lounger but there are not many actual sandy beaches on Cozumel that haven’t been developed into beach clubs, or are hotel resorts (which do have day passes) but wouldn’t be economical for a couple of hours. Much of the coastline of Cozumel is ironshore.

Best “sandy” beaches are on the east side but no ocean swimming due to currents and transport is more of a problem unless you hire a taxi for a few hours.

    Thanks for the info.

We live in Turkey & this is our 1st (& maybe our only) visit to Cozumel so want to spend time at the beach & also look round the town.

Mitsugirly in one of her reviews when she stayed in Cozumel went to a Taco restaurant that our 17 year old daughter wants to go to & she also wants to go to the Mega store!

Money Bar has no admission fee, good snorkeling from the shore, plus good food/drinks/service.  No real beach - you enter the water via steps - but the lack of a sandy beach helps to keep the water clear.  Taxi fare from the piers should be about $12 each way.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

We are wanting a beach with sun loungers but are planning on eating in the town centre later so do not require food, do you have any other ideas?

  7. We are in Cozumel next January on the Ncl Breakaway & have never visited before.

We are not really wanting an all inclusive beach club, as we will not be staying all day, we just want a relaxing beach without beach toys etc.

    Please can you give suggestions.

    Thanks Denise

I just received the official job offer email from the hiring manager at the company. So, now I guess that I have a HUGE decision to make. It's a LOT more money, but can I REALISTICALLY get my butt out of bed at 4:15 in the morning? On the one hand, it's a great opportunity, but as far as my day to day life goes, it would be a huge adjustment, and I don't know if I'm ready to sign up for that. It's like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire... I'm going to have to let them know something by the end of the day just out of courtesy. If I don't end up taking it, my buddy will probably never speak to me again, but then we don't ever really hang out anyway. I'm at a real crossroads right now, and I don't know what to do...

    .

I don’t often post but as you get on with the female owner of the company could you not ask to speak to her, as she knows you as you spend time outside of work together.

You will get another perspective & it may help your decision.

Whatever you decide I hope it all works out for you.

After about a half hour, my flight to Miami in December is booked... I was having trouble with the website, partly because my address hadn't been updated for my Skymiles AmEx... After about a half hour, it finally went through. I hate spending four hundred something dollars for a flight to Miami, but it's still less than I paid for the flight in May for the Virgin Voyages cruise... Slow day here at the 'ol salt mine. Fortunately, the big boss is out of the office for awhile today...

Wow. I’ve been looking at flights for our cruise next January from New  Orleans. We can book with American Airlines from Istanbul Turkey to New Orleans via London Heathrow, then after the cruise a flight to Miami (we want to spend a few days in the keys) then a flight from Miami to Istanbul again via London Heathrow, & it’s only $602 dollars.

    That includes seats & luggage.

    I think I better book it!7E3A2D48-4A1E-4E3A-BF80-D8F0C09F94A7.thumb.png.37bdf77e5cea162970f6a223dc3ce241.png

@vinotintoHarvest Caye is one of my favorite stops.  It is very clean, organized, safe and maintained.  The $50.00 credit is only for the first person on your suite.  However, if you did the Zip line, use that persons name to book and let those that want to go use the coupons you will be provided.  They never check the names. My wife, who hates highs did the zipline and loved it.

My favorite thing to do on Harvest Caye is the Beach Villa.  OK, it is not a classic excursion, and it is very expensive at $699/$799 (Not sure if the price went up).  However, it gives you a slice of paradise for up to 6 guests.  At a cost, they will serve you drinks, food and provide you with golf carts to different parts of the island.

If you are on a budget, going to the pool and utilizing the bar in the pool is also fun.   I hope I helped you in some way.

    Cruise Well

@Sthrngary   Thank you for this information. I was hoping to find this out.

I am the first name on the booking but my daughter would love to do the zip line.

I will just book it under my name.

@fethiyeden - Sorry I forgot to report back!

We did go to Passion Island with NCL.  The day we went it rained the night before, so everything was wet.  It was a windy day and the water was rough.  The boat ride over was extremely rough.  We got pretty wet with the waves hitting us.  It was pretty funny!  We were the only group there!

The staff was attentive, the food was OK and the bar drinks were not the best.

We still enjoyed ourself, but not sure if I would return.

The crew that picks you up is very attentive and working for tips..... they remind you of this.

I know their economy has been hit hard, so of course we tipped (we always do). But I just don't like to be reminded...

I do think Passion Island is pretty.  It is rustic and has all the things to enjoy a nice beach day.

Thanks for the update. We have unfortunately cancelled our cruise. We were travelling from Turkey (4 flights to New Orleans) so daren’t risk it.

We have rebooked for January 2023 so still looking at this excursion for next year.

  12.  Merry Christmas Tribe.

Christmas is not really celebrated here in Turkey but as I’m originally from England I will be cooking a Christmas dinner for myself, husband & daughter.

Daughter also gets presents under the tree. (so she’s happy)

We have a tree as they have them for New Year here.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.
