  1. Hi den No need to Bury them, you could cremate them and put them on the plate alongside American bacon,or what we in the UK call ‘port scratchings’.
  2. Hi The coffee sachets are behind the tea bags,,,,Nescafé original and decaf. Sometimes maybe Kenco. As I drink Lactose free milk and my wife drinks Soya we get a glass of each from the Oceanview and keep it in the frig. ps I believe Celebrity put kettles in cabins on sailings from the UK because Brits love their morning cuppa tea, To be honest this Brit hates tea.
  3. Hi There was on Silhouette out of Southampton in April. Photographic evidence……
  4. Every cabin on Silhouette from Southampton has a kettle and tea and coffee in it. Apart from Oceanview and Cafe el Bacio there is also the secret coffee station on Silhoutte midship, handy for those on the deck 6/7/8 hump.
  5. Hi Darren You wouldn’t have drank a lot of Guinness on my April Silhouette cruise……they had none!!!
  6. Hi And how many Dos Equis drinkers are there on a cruise from the UK but Celebrity stocked plenty on my cruise in April. My mother used to drink milk stout 70 years ago,,Cream Label My local supermarket sells dark beer but it’s not Guinness.Plenty of them, often called Porter, but I wouldn’t expect Celebrity to stock those. There is no substitute for Guinness,,,a drink drank worldwide in 130 countries, the USA market being in the top three. There is a huge Guinness bottling/canning plant in my town, there is no shortage of Guinness in the UK. ps Guinness has just brought out cans of Coffee Beer.maybe Cafe el Bacio can get a stock. No thanks.
  7. OK,my drink of choice is Guinness (or Jameson) on my Silhouette cruise from Southampton in April they had no Guinness (or John Smiths) on board. What would they substitute for Guinness? According to the Bar Manager Newcastle Brown is the same as Guinness. I told him if he doesn’t know the difference between a stout and brown ale he shouldn’t be a Bar Manager. Thats the reason my next cruises are with Fred Olsen then P&O,,,no more of that Bud,Coors,Red Stipe stuff if Celebrity don’t stock decent beers.
  8. What happens if you test positive? Stay on the ship in quarantine for the next cruise?
  9. Hi You know the old and still relevant saying…….. ’Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit’😉
  10. Hi I would be careful what you send to the laundry they are not very good. Our last two cruises we have sent pressed items back,,,,more creases than when we we sent them.
  11. Hi And believe me the performance in the MDR on the 21st April Silhouette cruise was crazy.
  12. The one person was a scout,,the lady on the desk could give a rough time. Ifbit was later others didn’t come down for dinner till later. We were told there was only 2 tables for 8. Although downstairs there were many more,,,but no staff to man them. And believe me for some of us waiting in the Matini Bar with a bleeper for 2 hours isomer couldn’t remember what they had to eat anyway.😁
  13. Hi I went into my local Asda supermarket today, the wine isle was bursting, the spirit shelves were full. And the beer & Lager aisle the boxes were piled high. And yet on my April Silhouette cruise never had one can of Brits/Irish staples of Guinness or John Smiths bitter,,they never had any on the cruise after either. But someone fancied a tot of bourbon,,,,,
  14. Hi There were 8 of us on our Silhouette cruise in April,(4 cabins),we did link the bookings on line before the cruise,,,,,dont expect to turn up and be seated straight away you will maybe get a bleeper to tell you when a tables ready. We sent one person early (18:15) to give them notice we wanted a table for 8,,,,sometimes they made a table up for 19:00 a couple of times it was nearer 21:00.
  15. Hi What club is that? .most bars on S class are deserted by 11:30. You get a few in the Sky Lounge until 12:30. I left the Ensemble Lounge on Silhouette last month at 12:30 (the last ones in there) went up through the Sky Lounge and on to the Ocean View for a snack and I saw maybe a dozen people. Celebrity is definitely not a cruise line for night owls. The OP will feel comfortable being on his own of an evening.
  16. Hi On the 21st April Silhouette from Southampton sailing the usual temporary bar was set up at the back of the theatre. Both sides.
  17. Ignore it and they will have to go through the same arguments when they get to the quay,,not a good way to start a holiday.
  18. Hi Is this for the required Antigen test we all have to do or the test req at the terminal for unvaccinated passengers? We were on Silhouette 21st April sailing….. This happened to me and my wife but a few days after boarding,,,,even after like you adding my proof on the app and passing through 3 checks during check in,,,,and having our names checked off. We got a letter in our cabin addressed to ‘Dear Unvaccinated guests’ and told to report for testing at 07:00 next morning for a $42 fee. I had to go to receptio at 01:00 with the proof of vaccination on my phone to prove I was vaxxed and boosted. Btw,,reception was very rude during this time unable to admit any wrong. Even when shown proof she continued to argue,,in the end I had to tell her to photo the certificate of my vaccinations (I also had a paper copy) and send it to who sent the letter.
  19. Hi The comments re Suites at 100% occupancy and the rest of the ship at 40% presents a problem for me (I book a hump veranda), I have noticed over the last few years that Suite guests stay in their suite or populate the Retreat. That leaves the rest of the ship of an evening akin to the Marie Celeste. On my recent cruise on Silhouette,I don’t know if it was the poor quality of the wandering minstrels but the bars where deserts after 23:00. If that is what people like fair enough,I just like it a little bit more lively. For the ludicrous increase in prices in Europe there is better than X out there. I have only done 9 X cruises, just into Elite but it seems to be losing its Whumf!! Every day every cruise it’s the same shows, the same menus, the same jugglers in the Martini Bar,it’s the same old same old nothing changes. I hope they freshen things up because I like Celebrity,,,but at Celebrity prices I can get better entertainment with professional acts around the ship not buskers.
  20. Hi Yes,I use them for my nightly double Jameson’s,,,thins the blood you know. The Tuath glass is hard to get hold of,,I had to fly to Dublin for a weekend on the black stuff to get one…no great hardship.
  21. Hi On my recent Silhouette sailing from Southampton Stella Artois was on the PP @$10 a bottle,,,,,,,,in my local Asda it is $10 for 10 bottles. Worse still they had no advertised Guinness and John Smiths bitter,,,although on the first night the F&B manager said they will bring some up the next day,,,,they never. He then said ‘supply issues’ it will be on for the next cruise,,,it wasn’t. Dont know if the ever did get a supply onboard maybe someone from a recent Silhouette cruise can tell me? If it’s a long term plan to do away with both drinks that’s my X cruises over,,,I just can’t drink lager or IPA,s
  22. Hi I was on that cruise and you were lucky, what time did you go for dinner? We found the MDR was a shambles,,,,you was OK if you turned up at 18:00 or 20:00 you got seated otherwise you could have waited over an hour for the bleeper to work. They was actually working to the fixed timings. If you missed an early req for 18:30 you knew you would have to wait often behind dozens of others until early eaters finished dinner. Often at 19:00 there where loads of empty unset tables downstairs,,,,,,no staff unfortunately. On that cruise dinner over 2 hours was not uncommon.
  23. Hi Either of these glasses are whiskey or whisky glasses not to dissimilar to your Chivas glass.
