I wear New Balance 609's
Reservations can not be made prior to boarding the ship. Depending on the itinerary will dictate how many reservations you can make. On shorter 7 night you can book one reservation on each of the specialty restaurants. On 10 day or longer and if the ship is not to full they may allow you to book two reservations (one at each of the restaurants) and two for the second half of the cruise. If the ship is pretty full then you will need to go back at day 6 and make the second set of reservations. This is to assure everyone has a chance to enjoy both and they also change the menu on day 6 for cruises 10 or more days long.
I wear sneakers all the time at dinner ...
June - August and the holidays they sometimes allow shorts at dinner in Le Grille ... perfect for kids and those who don't want to dress up. During the months mentioned there are more kids on-board thus the laxed protocol. Ask the head waiter in Le Grille if that is the case on your cruise week ...
Only one part time bank on Aitutaki ... they don't want USD. On Rarotonga it is more likely they will accept USD. Wish I could talk to you but that isn't possible on this page.
Chase for their customers will obtain XPF. Remember you can get XPF from reception on the ship. But if your going to the Cook's the ship does not have any NZD.
I've known Teariki for about 2 decades ... he is a first class guy. What he says is what he does. Want to get on his good side bring him a 6 pack of Hinano ... let him know Jerry told you to do it 😉
I see your favorite cruise line ... August 2024 My group will be on the Flora in the Galapagos 😉
I've taken all the private lagoon tours on Aitutaki ... but never the one from the ship. I'll simply say I've taken Teking about 6 times ... always good. Last time was on April 18, 2023 ...
Have you communicated with Teking? I know that his boat fits many but you might want to make sure the minimum is already meant so your not running around trying to gather other people. I would book the ship excursion and if Teking is a go drop the ship excursion but make sure it is more than 24 hours prior.
Pictured is beautiful One Foot Island
Country club casual .... at dinner time
No shorts in the main dinning room or Veranda ... Le Grille sometimes allows shorts but I would ask the head waiter prior. Guys can where fancy sandals such as Birkenstocks as long as they are wearing long pants ... no levies. Collared shirts with full button up ... such as a Tommy Bahama or similar.
Most ladies wear a sun dress of light and airy pants with a nice blouse.
Both are excellent choices. I've stayed at both.
Hilton
The good:
Good sunset views
Good snorkeling
Inexpensive place to eat across the street for breakfast and lunch
Superior pool area IMO
The not so good:
Grounds are much small compared to the Sofitel
Garden rooms are very close to each other
Can be barking dogs on the east side close to the garden rooms
Sofitel
The Good:
Nice sunrise views
View of Tahiti
Good snorkeling
Next to the longest public beach on the island
Expansive grounds compared to the Hilton
The not so good:
Not close to any other eatery
If your staying in an OWB it comes down to do you want sunrise views or sunset views. All the better restaurants will come and pick you up for dinner.
That is what Google is for 😉

South Pass can be a rough ride, not for those that have a physical problem and should not get bounced around.
Snorkeling in the North Pass is very nice and a much shorter ride.
Blue Lagoon is all about the scenery ...
I wouldn't plan on that. Best to run over to the Marche early ... then return to the ship and depart by 10AM, the official rime when everyone needs to be off the ship.
Usually and again I say 'usually' PG will solicit about 30 - 40 days prior to your cruise with a price for an upgrade. This is usually the case if there are upgrades available. Many times I've been on full cruises so for those that wanted an upgrade there was none available.
You can go to the PG web page and look at the departure times and then subtract 30 minutes for the last tender time ... but again ... things can change. Even the order of islands can change though rarely it has happened to us. But as you said I have relationships with the vendors I use and they always flow with the happens.
