P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
Angel57 replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
I get reminders firstly on repeat prescription tab and then by text. Earlier this year I had a text in block capitals saying my blood pressure tablets would not be issued if I did not have my annual blood test. Aside from the block capitals which imo is shouting - I said I had tests done 6 months ago and doctor happy to continue with every 12 months. Oh they said - we donāt have time to read doctors notesā¦ā¦ š I do think a text reminder for appointments is an excellent idea tho. -

That made me laugh out loudā¦ā¦ā¦thank you. Needed that as it is my birthday today and most of my cards have got held up in the postal strike (at least that is what I hope the reason isš¤£) . So Iām ignoring it altogether and I am not going to be a year older!! š -

Yes I also have bought too much previously. This year Iām just getting a normal sized chicken plus a few extras (stuffing, sausages etc). Nothing else specialā¦.. Edit - note to self, must not talk about Christmas for at least another 2 months!! -

I booked my Waitrose Christmas slot (still Ā£3 delivery) a few days ago - I do have them deliver every 9 days so not sure if that makes a differenceā¦ā¦ -
Great to hear people being sensible. Everyone (well most people) know mask wearing is a possibility when on the ships but it is a shame when it happens. Enjoy your cruise.

I seem to think there used to be a loyalty hospitality area (not a lounge and more a row of seats) for suite and higher tier passengers to wait after being checked in and before being allowed through security to get on board. It may only have been at Ocean Terminal as donāt recall it at Mayflower and was pre Covid - but happy to be corrected if wrong. From previous posts and friends reports I believe fizz and food is still being offered in one of the restaurants once on board for Loyalty plus suite pax. Enjoy your cruise

That pub looks lovely and I think it is dog friendly so may give that a try when in that area. -

Just put an Omron wrist monitor into my Amazon basket. š -

I shall look into the wrist monitor. Didnāt know they existed. Thanks Avril. -

Iām exactly the same Avril (as was my Mum). Everyone tells me to relax and think nice calm thoughts when having the reading done at the surgery - but it makes no difference. I also find the cuff expansion really painful. -

Great that you can avoid a hip replacement. Good luck for today (or is it tomorrow?) and enjoy having less pain. -
Hair splitting on Loyalty Tiers: When exactly do they change?

I suspect most of the crew hate hosting those lunches with passengers asking the same old questions š¤£š¤£ -
Hair splitting on Loyalty Tiers: When exactly do they change?
Angel57 replied to WestonOne's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Iāve never met anyone on those lunches who has told me how much they paid for their cruise or for example who theyāve sat with previously š¤£š¤£. Of course you are going to initially going to talk about other P&O cruises youāve done because the likelihood with it being a loyalty lunch you may have met before (and that has happened to me several times). Iām not interested in āhotā news - just decent conversation, good food and a few glasses of wine followed by a lovely afternoon snooze!. -

It is. Iām disappointed if not at an officerās table at the loyalty lunch. Most of the time you find out all sorts of interesting info into how the ships operates etc. Although I will admit on one occasion I had a crew member who really didnāt want to talk - but you can get that with any shared table!! -

Windy here in Dorset. Rain earlier. Currently having a new gas boiler installed as old one failed last week. Have a good Monday everyone. -
I suspect that communications are maybe down in that area given the intensity of that storm. Hopefully you will hear from your friends soon.

According to another well known site which we cannot mention, passengers are reporting that Aurora is now heading to Quebec (having missed first two ports) and will be there two nights as opposed to one which Iām sure will be appreciated. The seas which have been understandably rough are apparently calmer now.

Thatās great to hear the crew are helping any passengers that are struggling with the āappā.

Iāve had single occupancy in outside cabins on D & E decks. Iām not aware of horrendous cabins but I believe there is a you know what site for peoples opinions on P&O cabins across the fleet. D deck cabins Iāve had cabins between D190 to D154 and all excellent and quiet. E deck cabins (always had E165 altho friends were dotted around on that deck). Great cabins and the only negative I would say was after 8am you can hear people walking the Prom deck above and then sometimes heels on the wooden deck late at night.

You could well be spot on as my late delivery was Amazon products and I did find it strange they were coming via Royal Mailā¦ā¦. Yesterday it was flagged up as unable to deliver but lo and behold postie in a van delivered it 5 mins ago. š -

Our Evri delivery driver is very good. However Iām waiting for a parcel from Royal Mail who text to say they are going to deliver it yesterday morning and then this morning and still nothing has arrived. So, two mornings wasted. They are quite dreadful. -
I agree with your post Megabear. I donāt think anyone should judge or comment on a personās reason for using a lift (unless itās children mucking about). I can sympathise about the issues on embarkation and disembarkation days, but most of us know what itās like and just have to put up with it and if at all possible walk up/down. Personally I would always get out of the lift to allow a wheelchair in as it must be utterly frustrating at times.

Oh dearā¦ā¦ but at least the slightly younger cohorts are coming next. I hope I donāt get deaf and grumpy - but suspect itāll come to us all in time. Good idea to unwind with a takeaway.
