  1. That’s great to hear the crew are helping any passengers that are struggling with the “app”.
  2. I’ve had single occupancy in outside cabins on D & E decks. I’m not aware of horrendous cabins but I believe there is a you know what site for peoples opinions on P&O cabins across the fleet. D deck cabins I’ve had cabins between D190 to D154 and all excellent and quiet. E deck cabins (always had E165 altho friends were dotted around on that deck). Great cabins and the only negative I would say was after 8am you can hear people walking the Prom deck above and then sometimes heels on the wooden deck late at night.
  3. You could well be spot on as my late delivery was Amazon products and I did find it strange they were coming via Royal Mail……. Yesterday it was flagged up as unable to deliver but lo and behold postie in a van delivered it 5 mins ago. 😀
  4. Our Evri delivery driver is very good. However I’m waiting for a parcel from Royal Mail who text to say they are going to deliver it yesterday morning and then this morning and still nothing has arrived. So, two mornings wasted. They are quite dreadful.
  5. I agree with your post Megabear. I don’t think anyone should judge or comment on a person’s reason for using a lift (unless it’s children mucking about). I can sympathise about the issues on embarkation and disembarkation days, but most of us know what it’s like and just have to put up with it and if at all possible walk up/down. Personally I would always get out of the lift to allow a wheelchair in as it must be utterly frustrating at times.
  6. Oh dear…… but at least the slightly younger cohorts are coming next. I hope I don’t get deaf and grumpy - but suspect it’ll come to us all in time. Good idea to unwind with a takeaway.
  7. Have a look at Britboys post (about 10 down from this titled “Back from Aurora”) as he has just got off and posted his review.. I love Aurora and have friends currently on board and waiting to hear their thoughts at some point.
  8. I agree. The Corgis waiting for their beloved Queen got me blubbing. What a wonderful send off. I’ve watched it all day too - just wonderful.
  9. On my Samsung you go into the phone app (where keypad is to make a call!). Select the three dots in top right hand corner and select settings. On that screen there should be the option to turn on and off WiFi calling.
  10. Pleased to hear your cruise was enjoyable, albeit a bit of a mystery tour. Just watched Aurora leave for Canada on the Netley webcam. Got friends whom I normally travel with on board so was ever so slightly envious.
  11. They did indeed. Sophie and Edward’s son at just 14 was very composed but reminded me of Prince William at Diana’s funeral. 🥲
  12. Great news that you parents are both back together in their flat. I suspect postponing (and hopefully not cancelling) your trip on Monday is a good idea as it’ll be a very odd day. I’ve been very impressed with the respect everyone has shown the monarchy this last week. There have been a couple of ill timed exceptions but watching it on all tv (and I appreciate not everyone will feel the same) makes me feel proud. Have a good weekend everyone.
  13. I remember my mum putting the leftover Yorkshire Pud in the frying pan and heating with butter and then pouring golden syrup all over it. Very healthy!
  14. Think she missed her first port of St Johns due to bad weather?
  15. I have to say that I love Yorkshire Puddings and would happily eat them with any roast meat (and lots of gravy) and would even forego the meat for an extra one!!
  16. It’s been wonderful to see so many paying their respects today. I loved the 50+ tractors lined up along the roadside in Aberdeenshire.
  17. What a tough time you are going through Sue….. but great that your Dad is improving and should be home soon. It is indeed sad news and just been watching the coffin leave Balmoral. I thought the Accession and Proclamation ceremonies yesterday were so interesting to watch. What an ordeal for the family though.
  18. When in shops, I like Brandy Cream or Brandy Butter with my mince pies 🎄
  19. I am a very recent convert to online banking. It was a case of almost being forced into it with all my local branches having closed and not being able to ask a simple question to a human on the phone. However, I now love it and actually feel more secure with being to check the balance daily and being alerted if money is withdrawn. As for a cheque book I use it occasionally to send a monetary gift or donation. Some banks have dedicated phone numbers (and where you speak to an actual person) for the over 60s who may struggle with online systems - and I have that number on speed dial should I require it!
  20. My daily tablets are ordered online every 4 weeks…. Now I would have thought that being a reasonably healthy 62 year old it would make sense to re-issue my BP tablets every 8 weeks - less work for those that approve the request and less work for the pharmacist that dispenses it. But maybe that’s too simplistic……
  21. Raining here…… Freddie has been disturbed by distant fireworks the last few nights and then last night it was thunder in the distance. We had aircraft from the Bournemouth Air Show flying over (Typhoons Spitfires etc) at the weekend and it didn’t bother him at all. Strange boy!
