  1. Gosh, that is a bit minimalist - I would hope they would give you more if you asked…?
  2. So sorry to read your post Damian. What a dreadful time for you and the family. Your Teddy looks like he is keeping everyone’s sprits up tho.
  3. I hope your grandson is feeling much better now with having been able to get the medication. Awful stress for you all which shouldn’t have happened. Gill x
  4. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I would miss receiving Christmas cards but do fear the end of this tradition is not that far away. Whilst there is some merit in not giving cards to people like current neighbours, to hear from friends, ex-colleagues, ex-neighbours and past cruising companions for me is a delight….. and I don’t begrudge them my time in writing the cards or money spent on stamps! But I know I’m probably in the minority…
  5. Some of my cards that were posted around 3rd Dec with 2nd class stamps arrived the next day - and some of those posted that same day are on the scenic route….
  6. We had some post today (first in 6 days) and I asked the very pleasant lady delivering if there would be another delivery before Christmas and her reply was that it was unlikely……
  7. Now a shortage of red wine is indeed serious. I can understand some being out of stock but to only have a choice of one?? I assume there is less of a global shortage if you buy a whole bottle?
  8. Same here in Dorset but it’s also very wet and very windy.
  9. Ooh, wash your mouth out Zap…..🤣🤣🤣🤣 She’s a beautiful old lady!
  10. Dreadful weather for her arrival. She looks HUGE…….
  11. We have rain now in south Dorset which is slowly washing the ice and snow away. Lots of seagulls about so suspect weather bad on the coast.
  12. The public never warmed to Fleur. And I know it’s a dancing competition, but like in all walks (or dances) of life you have to “like” the person who gets your vote! I admit my votes were given to Hamza and Helen.
  13. Many congratulations to you and your niece….👶👏🥂🎉 Have a great holiday and hope flight soon takes off. x
  14. I do that with a couple of friends….. such a good idea.
  15. Good luck tomorrow Graham. Hope it all goes well. Gill x
  16. Good morning. Similar weather here in Dorset with -4 and a very sharp frost. My dog melted a small area of frosty grass at 0530 and very quickly ran back inside! I feel so sorry for those poor people who cannot afford to have much heat on. Yes, my temperature is being kept a little lower this year (18.5c) but I feel very lucky to be able to have it on. Take care in this freezing weather. Gill
  17. What a disappointment 🤣🤣
  18. So pleased things are looking better now for your daughter. A fright for you all. Gill
  19. Please don’t give my dog Freddie ideas……🤣🤣 I must admit I shall put the Christmas wreath on the front door and possibly put the small tree up, but apart from that I also feel I cannot be bothered ……(bit like the last few years really - altho I do usually relent).
  20. That is what concerns me Josy. I have cruised on Aurora at least once every year (barring the Covid years) since she was launched and have one booked for next summer. I always felt that may be the final one……. Lets hope we are wrong.
  21. Good morning everyone. Cold here in Dorset with a not so pleasant drizzle in the air. Freddie wore his new coat on his walk today. Thought he might object, but he didn’t! Amazon delivered his Christmas present last night (toys). I didn’t undo the box and just put it at the top of the cupboard in the spare bedroom with doors closed. At 3am he woke me. I thought he needed to go out into the garden - but no, he ran straight to the cupboard where his present was put and cried! I was not impressed! For those footie fans, enjoy the match later (I might even watch a bit too). Gill
  22. The lift incident made me laugh. I remember my Aunt who was blind had scales that spoke her weight. When there was a family gathering she was showing us how they worked. Unfortunately they had gone wrong and needed re-calibration because in a very loud voice they announced to the whole neighbourhood that she weighed 18 stone. She was in fact about 10 stone. We never let her forget it…..🤣🤣
