  1. Fasten your seatbelts…… Bette claimed it as her own.
  2. Maybe not a tiara, although.....if you were walking clockwise you might get away with it...
  3. And certainly walking deck three clockwise is certainly one of those times… thank-you for noticing!
  4. Sorry… unfamiliar with that term…however if you asked me what the proper form is to wearing what time of the day to wear diamonds I’m sure I cam oblige
  5. and along with the Dowager Countess......I rest my case.
  6. saw Meg2 last night....they needed a much bigger boat!
  7. All about Eve.,one of my favourite screenplays of all time including one of possibly the best ad-libbed lines ever in cinema..... and please don't compare it to the trash they produce today....and don't even start me on "Barbie"
  8. Good to know, i think we will have 12 time changes and east to west means 12 extra hours so its an advantage to us which will make the $135 per sector go Just a little further. It will effect those on the qm going west to east more…
  9. ill be watching it on the WC next year, if you pay for 24 and they change the clocks forward an hour they surely must give you the full 24 hours surely...........
  10. unless you are travelling across time zones......I wonder if anyone has kicked up a stink at reception yet for losing an hour every other day?
  11. yes I agree however the cruise lines have to keep evolving to survive and COVID certainly exacerbated the need to continue looking for new passengers. Those of us who hark back to the golden age of sailing are slowly falling off the mortal coil and we need to be replaced with someone so I guess CUNARD is trying to find its way in the modern new world.
  12. Norma also claimed to be ready for her closeup. Between that and "fasten your seatbelts" arguably the two most immortal lines ever spoken on celluloid.
  13. yes I had that conversation pre 2020, a great loss to Cunard. When are we seeing you and Mr B next?
  14. I will miss Carl who the last I heard was doing crystal, he was so talented and he could down those Manhattens like no ones business.
  15. sorry Victoria ....slight misunderstanding I didn't mean they should do it on a "money spent" basis it was just an example of what you have to spend to have had 1000 nights onboard and I think you would be surprised at how many are in the 1000 plus category. The World Cruise Sectors are filled with those winning the most cruised prizes with well over 1400 nights...thats quite an investment in any grade!
  16. lol.....I was ducking in case some flaming balls came my way.......
  17. funny...I don't think there is enough, its too easy go up a stage if you count voyages as opposed to days and the top tier is not hight enough or there should be another tier. this with over 1000 days feel a bit aggrieved that there is nothing more to aim for apart from the unofficial 1400 club
  18. received nothing Down here Downunder. I don't think we have ever received the surveys..... I guess our opinion doesn't matter. Im trusting you guys speak up for us!
  19. I think they mean a dinner suit..........as my hero Norma Desmond declared "tuxedos are for waiters"
  20. from either, there are day tours from Auckland - Tauranga is closer however often they are booked out so its another option.
  21. hi yo Philly, don't panic if the excursions to Russell have sold out. There will be a free bus from the jetty at Waitangi where the tenders should berth into Paihia and you will be dropped off at the wharf. It's a short ferry ride across to Russell from there....about 20 minutes, You can easily walk the town and visit all the sites while eating an ice cream and for a bit of excercise walk up to the top of the hill to the flagstaff and view the stunning bay from there. any questions just ask - I was bought up in the Bay and even though I live in Auckland I know it pretty well. ps...there is plenty to do there, from the Hole in the Rock boat trip to visiting Waitangi treaty grounds and Marae which is a short walk from the jetty., there's a beautiful Kauri Forest and some good restaurants. Paihia is a beautiful beach town.
  22. yes quite right....she seemed to think that as she was Imelda she should have more shoes....she doesn't....... still smarting over stripper teddy....it was only a small cork afterall.....
