  1. The internet is per-simultaneous device. If you buy 1 internet device, you just get bumped off when he logs in on his phone. Then you can bump him off when you're ready to resume.
  2. Cool, learned something new. It's too late to make a lunch reservation for my cruise this Saturday. Silly question because I've always made reservations in advance, but can I just do a walk-in to Chops on embarkation day and (if available) get a table? I'm assuming so, but heck I've been very wrong lately on several subjects.
  3. I know UDP grants you lunch on sea days. Does it also include lunch on embarkation day?
  4. Wait - which captain is the one that everybody raves about?
  5. Every time I search for the old list my little search fails. Can you put a link to the old here so I can access it? Curious to see a few others I'm missing, but not sure how far back that old post goes. Thanks in advance!
  6. Personal spreadsheet of our cruises that includes a variety of useless information about past sailings, including Captains, CD's, Guest performers, and anomalies (e.g. itinerary changes). It's my version of scrapbooking, but on a spreadsheet. I also track the ports of call, what ships were in port with us, and the last time we visited a port. I have some gaps from before I started keeping track at this level. It's more of a hobby, than anything else. I also keep track of pricing, so we can look back at what we really paid for cruises, airfare, hotels, ShoreEx's and other onboard experiences.
  7. I'm just curious what people eat on a daily basis on land? The food on ships is so bad now that you cancel cruises over it? Or, maybe I should ask, what did you used to get on board, food wise? We've been on several cruises post pandemic, and yeah we've seen lots of changes, and yea the food may be different, but it's not anything that we'd personally give up on. We've had some very good meals onboard, and some great customer service as well since they resumed sailing. When we do land-based vacations, we have to randomly pick a restaurant and hope the 5 stars online are true.. and then three meals a day on land vacation is $200-$250.
  8. I've wondered this about Oasis myself. Been on her three times post-pandemic and while other ships are back to having different performances, Oasis gets Cats only in the theater. As an example, we were on Odyssey this year = 4 different guest performers in the theater, and 2 different production shows When we were on Oasis this year = 2 different guest performers in the theater, and 1 production show.
  9. I'm trying to fill in the blanks on my tracker (nerd alert) - I have the first name of my Liberty 1/20/19 cruise as "Jeffrey" but no last name. The only other Jeff/Jeffrey I've been able to find via searching is Arpin. Would anyone know if that would have been the same Jeff/Jeffrey. The only other cross-referencing I've done external to these boards is the archive of cruise planners which also shows only his first name as Jeffrey.
  10. When we were unfortunate enough to have a medical disembarkation, our experience was completely the opposite. At first we were sent ashore to the hospital. The plan was to return to ship before departure. Instead, my GF was admitted. I returned to the ship to inform them that we would disembark. They had a room attendant (not ours) meet me at our room, help me pack, and then a second attendant showed up to assist with us getting the bags off the ship. I got back to security checkpoint where a member of guest services was waiting with our invoices, and a member of the medical team was there to provide us with all of the documentation for her medical issue. I never had to stand in any lines. They had the port agent waiting to take me to the Customs office (because we were now staying and needed a formal entry to the country) and then drove me back to the hospital. I had to ride with him in his personal vehicle lol. Once we had to medivac from the island, the port agent came to the hospital to retrieve our large luggage that wouldn't fit on the plane and he got them shipped to our home stateside. All in all I'd say Royal did a pretty good job here. It's unfortunate your story isn't the same, and this goes to show us that their is a bit of inconsistency in the processes.
  11. Wow you know what? I've never been on a cruise where Day 2 wasn't "Dress your best" but I just went into your cruise planner for Nov 12 Wonder and it says Day 2 "Casual" So apparently now I'm giving out bad advice. Formal for your sailing is Night 3 and 6. Maybe because Day 3 is a Sea Day for you. I stand corrected and do apologize. Please refer to the App and check the daily planner for an entry at 5pm to see your dress codes. Obviously they're subject to change but that's what I see
  12. 1970 - 2007... There haven't been any formal nights since then 🙂 But seriously, there are "dress your best" themes on nights two and six of a 7 night cruise.
  13. This was from our Cruise Planner in January 2023. So that hasn't changed.
  14. Is it too late to apply for the role of "John Doe?"
  15. Day beds or "Casitas"? Casitas have never been free... Not sure if you're referring to the same or not, but we weren't impressed with our Casita. The locations are usually "meh" at best, with people walking by you all day, or standing in front of your Casita for no apparent reasons. The bed wasn't as comfy as a beach bed in Cococay. But otherwise, it seems like a good way to make money for this for-profit company. Also, last three cruises I've been on - chair hogs have been losing the battle! We saw them regularly collect items left by hogs. In fact on my June cruise we got out to the pool area at 10am and there were dozens of prime loungers available!
  16. I only need a good CD to pull off a successful L&M game show. Otherwise...meh... I wouldn't choose/avoid an itinerary based on the CD. With that said, there have been, on occasion, a CD that makes a personal impact for your cruise. That doesn't mean they're going to get great reviews from all cruisers, and I still wouldn't seek out a ship they are on just to hang out with them again. Case in point, it seemed like I kept running into Abe Hughes several years in a row without even knowing what ship he'd be on! I was his accidental stalker lol.
  17. You just wanted to use 'tannoy' in a sentence on an international forum where half us have to Google that word. 🙂 But seriously, did the announcement go on inside your stateroom? If that's the case, that's a hard NO.. Otherwise I can see why they'd run the announcements in the public spaces including the stateroom halls. People get a little antsy when there's a helicopter at the ship. I guess most people can sleep thru those announcements... Hell even when I'm awake I have to open the door to my stateroom to hear them clearly in the hall.
  18. Monday, July 6th, 2009. 11:30 AM Ship time. Celebrity Millennium in Skagway, AK All breakfast service throughout the ship ended at 10:30 AM. Lunch didn't start until 12:00 PM. I had to be dockside at 12pm for a ShoreEx so I tried to get something to eat at 11am, searching the ship until 11:30 AM. One crew recommended to order room service as that was the only thing available at the time, but I didn't have enough time to wait for room service. So disembarked at 11:50 AM -- HUNGRY 🙂 - but I wasn't thirsty hehe
  19. I'm not booked on the cruise. Asking for a friend... But we just joined their group on another social media site to follow along.
  20. Anyone here hear anything yet about Vision's upcoming Bermuda run? If it leaves Baltimore Saturday and that storm is passing thru the same turf on the Atlantic, it's not a good outlook for them making their scheduled call. Just curious if anyone's heard anything yet.
  21. "Punished?" They're going to make you walk the plank! I've never been given different amounts of food based on when I booked a meal. There's the a la carte option and the full dinner option where you pick all your courses. Maybe that's where the confusion comes in.
  22. And taking the lead in Key pricing: Internet 2 device package = $195.93 They Key 2 Pax = $279.86 So our internet price was still better, but the gap is certainly narrow! It's about $42 per person for the week. The only benefits I think we'd use are boarding day lunch and the carryon dropoff. I'm not sure if those two benefits are worth $42 each. We don't use the fast lane offerings, there are no tender ports, and We have Diamond+ status for everything else. I feel like they need a VIP Pass offering that scales with loyalty status as these don't seem all that great to us any more.
  23. The waterpark will shut down if there's lightning within a 5/10 mile radius. If it stays closed for 2 hours, you're entitled to a 50% refund. If it stays closed for 4 hours, you're eligible for a full refund. Now, what they did to us was close it for 1.5 hours, reopen for 30 mins then closed for another hour. They said it was never closed for 2 consecutive hours - I didn't push this further but I'm guessing someone could raise a stink about it. So we didn't get our 50% refund..
  24. Does he like Sushi? Maybe they can make him a to-go box and enjoy it late night.
