  1. This might have been the dress code on Princess prior to the Covid shutdown but the sure have now changed their attitude about what is acceptable. You'll see many guys now wearing them in the DR on casual evenings , like it or not. I haven't yet to see them on formal nights but even then just a pair of jeans and a Polo shirt were being worn on our last Caribbean cruise.
  2. Not that myself or my husband wear one in the DR but really what difference does it make in the long run? Some guys wear their cowboy hat--- which I've only seen one time.
  3. As I recall (in the past) they didn't say you couldn't use items brought from home other than bubble wrap. Items like cushioning, string, tape, etc. brought on board were allowed. No tools are provided such as scissors or staple guns.
  4. I believe most of what has been posted comes from opinions and not actual experiences. We also have some shore excursion credit on our next cruise and I would be disappointed to have to use it only for an excursion. I still believe it can be used for other on board things other than excursions.
  5. I believe that this is something they've just started recently. I'll have to redesign my whole previous tested contraption.
  6. Did it have any effect on opening your cabin door?
  7. I'll be right behind you at the IC in the morning waiting for the pastries to arrive. 😄
  8. Go to the airport and watch the planes take off and land. The beach is OK.... nothing great.
  9. Yes there was, and lots of Fl. folks don't mind eating later. I've never surveyed the people standing in line a 4:45 PM but there are lots of them. Probably not from the UK though. 😄
  10. Most of us do. You just have to live for today and forget about catching anything. It holds true being on the ship also. Seeing anyone wearing a mask lately is rare here in Florida. Yes there are a few, but most people have gotten past wearing them.
  11. Judging on the poor selections of current movies on board lately, it wouldn't surprise me to see cutbacks on some of the major sports programs also to save a few dollars.
  12. It's early for most people but works for us Florida folks. You would be surprised at the number of people lined up to eat at that time. The line starts at 5 PM and by 6 PM is packed. I hate fighting the crowds so we arrive a little early & take our time eating.
  13. We also want to receive the Medallions at home so my husband can take his time mounting them in our holders (it takes a few minutes each) and have them ready to board at the terminal.
  14. Connecting a Roku unit to the TV would get you audio through some wired earphones but probably only for the programs/movies from the Roku and not those from Princess. You would also first have to connect the Roku to the TV with an HDMI cable.
  15. The way things are going I would have to stop watching any movies at home for 10 years to expect to find something new offered on a Princess cruise. We're sailing in Dec and I haven't watched Top Gun yet expecting to view it on the ship. I don't really expect it to be shown but you never know. 😄
  16. Maybe they should discontinue all the other activities that are held in the Piazza also.....like dancing, champagne pouring, concerts, games, or any music for that matter. LOL😄😀
  17. It's a strange occurrence about the Toonie. We have holders (home made) that have a thin piece of sheet metal (magnetic) held to the back of the Medallion and have never had a problem with them not being recognized. Could it have been a one time fluke?
  18. Once again, people see only what they want to see. 😉 All I know for sure is that most people in the Caribbean are not dressing like they used to 20 years ago and it's fine by me. Dress up if you like but lately Princess doesn't force the issue like they once did.
  19. They haven't been keeping up with the current releases from what I've read. Maybe it'll get better in December.
  20. Now if they only offered a decent prize for the winners. 🤓
  21. We always eat early and still I make the reservations for 5 PM in the app. Saying that they still make you wait on line as if you just arrived without any reservations. I suppose we'll just have to contact the head waiter to secure the same table & time each night like we use to.
  22. We cruised when the virus was more potent, having no problems and I didn't hear of anyone getting Covid on the ship. I suspect that with the latest strain most, things will back to normal cruising in a a few weeks.
  23. I just checked my medallion size received in April with older ones and there doesn't seem to be any difference in size. The holder that we use doesn't rely on size so if there was a slight difference, we wouldn't have noticed it.
  24. Oh, there were people wearing masks, but not when sipping & covering while drinking. At that time the crew were all wearing masks 100 % of the time.
