  1. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sky Suite on the Summit - first cruse post-covid last September - especially how our wonderful Butler continued to re-fill our min-bar with those small (airplane size) bottles of Vodka (we had changed out all of the other liquors to Vodka when we first boarded)

We are booked in a Royal Suite for an 11 day Canadian cruise next summer - and after reading some of the recent posts expressing disappointment from cruisers about carrying drinks back to the rooms, etc. etc.

Can anyone confirm what the current policy for mini-bar "refills: in a Royal Suite ?

    Thank you

  2. I don't want to get involved in the "discussion" about safety, etc.

Just wish to try to get some clarification:

We are two fully vaccinated seniors - sailing to the Caribbean (not until January!) - one port is the private island in the Bahamas -

Is proof of a negative COVID-19 test (72 hours prior to embarkation) still REQUIRED ?

    Thank You !

(according to the response received on the NCL "chat" - we don't need that test ???

Thanks.  We did call the cruise line...they suggested it would be fine.  We decided that we would feel better if we took a different flight.  We don't want to spend a week relaxing, only to have that wiped out with the stress of getting home.

Too many "ifs" in the equation, so we'll stay in Miami an extra night.  Now the search for a hotel....

I also called NCL - was told that any flight after 11:00 would be just fine - so we have booked the transfer through the ship to the airport - and the 11:10 flight

We have gone multiple times out of Boston on this cruise and always in late October or November. We have gone when people are in hot tubs, pools, lounging on the Lido decks, just as if it were July. We have gone in driving rainstorms and pelting snow. We boarded during what turned out to be a raging nor'easter one year when we were literally whisked onto the ship (we were 4 hours before departure) and the captain announced that due to the storm as soon as the last couple of passengers boarded we were leaving Boston. Dinner started around 3:30 with the suggestion that people eat early and remain in their cabins. All the outer doors were locked so people could not wander around decks - although one couple did manage to sneak out and then,, hours later, had to be rescued by a line of HAL staff, holding on to each other for dear life as they dragged these idiots back from the railings where the couple, were glued amidst waves and the ship rolling...we were on the 10th deck and water came in our balcony during the night and soaked the carpet. But the next morning? Sea like glass, people in pools, temps in 80s...We go on the last Boston to Bermuda run or as close to it as we can because it is always exciting, the captain and staff always keep everyone safe (although there were some of us who felt putting the crew in danger to save the absolutely idiotic couple who "needed some selfies with the waves" should have just been left out there). This is one of the best cruises. And it ends with the last hint of autumn and available lobster meals in Bar Harbor!

    WOW !!! - Interesting reading - thank you !!

Yes, only owners suites and garden villas get free bottled water/soda in the cabin. No other suites, Haven or otherwise, get free mini bar items. If your reservation does not have the words "Owners" or "Garden Villa" in there... you have to walk your own soda and glass of sparkling whatever to your room yourself by using your drink package at the bar outside of your room.

Thank you for for that clarification ! -

We did get lots of water - now in a cardboard boxes instead a bottles

Only the DOS and OS get the bottles of liquor on NCL. It is not like Princess where you get the free mini bar set up in suites.

These are the types of suites on the Sun that should receive suite amenities.

The aft Penthouse Suites should receive suite amenities. Is that the cabin you were in? If so, next time try reaching out to the concierge desk (email and phone number is on that pdf) to make sure you are on their radar!

  8. Has anyone stayed in an Owners Suite lately ? - Can they confirm in-room amenities ?

(NOT a deal breaker - just want to be prepared 😁

We just returned from 9 day Alaska Cruise on the NCL Sun - In a Deluxe Aft Suite - or also called Deluxe Family Suite -a little disappointed in the reduction of suite amenities - no mini bar at all - no nice toiletries (of course it was NOT the Owners Suite - we tried for an upgrade bid to the one remaining one - but someone else got it ! and NOT the same class of ship - ) anyway

All the soaps, shampoos were fastened to the wall of the shower (or over the sink in the bathroom) in a large bottle -

REALLY. REALLY Looking forward to our upcoming cruise on the NCL Pearl - where we are booked in Cabin 15000 (used up several FCC's from cancelled cruises to be able get it !)

    THANK YOU

  10. We are due to board the NCL Sky on January 3 (I know - several months away yet, and things could surely change, but)...

We fly out to Miami on January 2nd (from the West Coast) airline tickets already purchased

NCL says that if we embark on a Tuesday (January 3rd) the earliest we can have a pre-boarding Covid test would be the Sunday prior - which, in this case is January 1st (New Year's Day)

Local testing locations that we have used for other cruises (Walgreens) are not open (for testing) on Holidays

So - looking for somewhere in Miami - convenient to get Covid testing when we land in Miami on January 2nd (at 4:30 PM)

    Any suggestions ?

Thank you for any help that can be provided
