  20. @gincole1 I have moved your thread to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum where it will be on topic. The Message feature is disabled for members. It is available for use by Administrators & Hosts ONLY. We can use it with each other and to members. If one of us contacts a member via the feature, the member cannot reply back. Pease note the following portion from the Posting and You! section in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Answer Posts on the Boards, Not Via Email! Please try to answer message board posts on the boards instead of E-mail when appropriate. There is a lot of great information that we're all missing because it is passing through private E-mail. There are of course times when private E-mail is more appropriate but if you have information that would be helpful to many people, please try to come back to the boards and post it rather than replying to a posting through E-mail. To help with email security, email addresses should be posted as whatever name at wherever dot com with spaces & spelling the words "at" and "dot". This should help prevent harvesting by spambots. Most members will know what you are doing. Or, set up another special email account just for correspondence relating to the Cruise Critic message boards. Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat

  24. @Host Carolyn Thank you for moving this thread to the correct forum earlier today! Folks often forget about this forum. It is located at the top of the Cruise Critic Community list of forums right under Welcome to Cruise Critic. FYI to all reading this thread, Whenever you wonder if you need help, always check this forum first. Note the large amount of "How to..." pinned threads toward the top of this forum's first page. To start off, please read the pinned thread: How to: Find most recent responses to a topic And for those that need information on how to set their notifications for when they Follow a thread or forum, please read another pinned thread: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info). Personally, I no longer use email for Cruise Critic notifications. I have all mine set to Notification List. Then when I first login to Cruise Critic, I just click the Notifications Bell to get the clickable list for all of mine. Works for me & I love the fact I am not drowning in emails! Click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. On the next page to appear, click Mentions & My Content and Followed Content. Click the little down arrow to open each section and make sure each item is set for your preference. Also, click this link: Manage Followed Content You will see a list for Topics I Follow. To the right of each topic you can select change preference and make your choice OR you can completely unfollow the topic. You can also check the boxes next to each topic to make changes to multiple topic notification preferences at once. If you use our Gallery Feature, make sure to look at the left of the page when you are viewing your managed content. There is a menu there to select the tabs for albums and images to choose how you receive notifications for items you follow there. And for "slowness", often clearing your Cruise Critic cookies and Internet cache will clear up most difficulties. Perhaps something in the following will help: How to Clear Cookies for a Specific Site How to Clear Internet Cache in Every Major Browser Disclaimer: I only have a desktop and laptop... cannot help with phones. Sincerely hope something in this post will be helpful to someone! Happy sails, Host Kat
  25. FYI to all, This Roll Call title had to be edited. This is due to the following portion of How To: Create A New Roll Call: In the Title Box, type the name of your ship, your sail date and year. When you create a new ROLL CALL topic, you MUST include the sail date in the subject line, and here's the suggested format: Example: January 1, 2016 Please note the suggested date format with the month first and spelled out completely will ensure your new Roll Call topic appear in search results Hope this will be helpful!
