  1. I noticed this also for our 8 night in February. Hopefully it's a glitch, not them cancelling the port.
  2. We go every year January or February. Love getting away from the cold. On Anthem with the enclosed Solarium it doesn't bother me that it's not super warm. It's fine for us to sit there and go in the hot tub Yes as long as you avoid Presidents week in Feb (northern schools get that week off) there should be way less kids.
  3. I usually say I want to use a voucher, just because we also get the soda package and I have had bartenders tell me I can't get frozen virgin drinks with that. And if I get a coke at the bar, I make sure to tell them NOT to use a voucher. No confusion if you tell them how you want to pay for it (but it doesn't hurt to check your account to double check!)
  4. Haven't flown Delta in quite some time, but for SWA, JetBlue, American and United we just use their apps for boarding passes. No need to print anything. Makes life a lot easier, just have to check bags. They may have a kiosk where you can do that. My last flight to FLL I didn't check bags so not sure about that.
  5. Yes, there is an indoor "family" pool and the Solarium. Solarium pool is not for swimming, more like a place to sit in the water with drinks and make new friends. Can't go wrong either way!
  6. We were on Anthem for both last year. Did Jamie's for V-day. Watched SB in 270, it was fun (no commercials though!) We decorated our door for both.
  7. I too love savory bites. Have asked for and received anytime I have asked. DH prefers the other breads, so I don't even have to share!
  8. I have checked under both beverage package and internet package, not in either spot. Glad to know it may still be available, guess I will just have to keep checking!
  9. I was checking for my two booked cruises (Anthem in Feb, Liberty in May) for prices on beverage and dining packages. We have gotten the soda + voom in the past, but do not see it for either of these sailings. Is it just a matter of waiting and it will eventually be available or have they done away with it? We did just have it on Adventure, and we had purchased it last year on the Black Friday sale. Any info appreciated!
  10. Agreed. We each also did a lab test ( me and DH at Quest, FIL and DD at CVS) as backup. Have done tests for 5 cruises now, never had a corrupted one, but have always had a backup. That's just my OCD.
  11. Yes, to some extent. He had to swab his nose himself, but I did the camera and put the swab in the test card cause he wasn't figuring that out on his own (I admit I had trouble the first time I did it). Also had keep him from answering his phone while waiting the 15 minutes. (MIL can wait a hot minute, he will call her back LOL)
  12. I find the phone easiest, easy to move around for scanning QR codes and showing your ID
  13. We did ours last night, even 80 yo FIL could manage it. Best part- ALL NEGATIVE! WOOHOO this time tomorrow I am enjoying dinner on Adventure!
  14. We are doing this same itinerary 8/18. Port times are "different" as in late into St Maarten and wicked early (7am) to SJ. We knew this when we booked, not a surprise. We have cruised 3 times since the restart and I will agree that our best cruises were last August and October when capacity was limited. We made D+ on our Anthem cruise in Feb, so this is our first at that level. We are not high falutin' people, and do not get bothered by much. Dinner used to be a 2 hour experience, not sure why now it's a problem??? I will say we had very quick service when there were less people, but we are ok with a longer dining experience. Have not been on Adventure yet, but we do like Voyager class. I know I am in the minority, but the Oasis class really doesn't ring my bell. I loved Odyssey, but Oasis was meh to me. Different strokes. Any vacation is what you make of it. We are celebrating DD's masters degree, our 25th anniversary and and FIL's 80th birthday. So long as no one gets sick or hurt, it will be a fine time. I appreciate OP's review, but it comes off as snobbish to me (my opinion) so I take it with a grain of salt. And the Great Scallop Debate, well I only wish I could partake as at the tender age of 38 I developed a shellfish allergy. And I really liked scallops. Now it's living vicariously through others and keeping my epi pen handy /sigh
  15. Food is so subjective. What is fine dining to one is unpalatable to another. Food is not why I choose a certain ship, though there are venues I prefer (El loco fresh) over others (Johnny Rockets). I have never gone hungry and enjoy the variety of things on offer. We have been fortunate to have wait staff that have made good recommendations or even brought us something "off menu" to try. We like the specialty restaurants because it is a different dining experience, but I don't necessarily like all of them. Izumi is our new fave, Chops is classic, but I really did not care for Jamie's Italian or the "new" Giovanni's. Of course, YMMV. The best part is always that someone else cooks and cleans up!
  16. No, we are the House of Google, so no Alexa for us. We do have many of the expansions on our tablets though
  17. If you like Ticket to Ride there are mobile versions that you do not need internet for. You would have to pass ipad/tablet between people, but you can play without taking the bulky board. We always take cards to play contract gin if we have more people. Yahtzee is always a good choice, we have a travel one that zips closed.
  18. I too would take Voyager. Maybe because it was my first ship and I have a soft spot for her. But the itinerary is what does it for me. Maybe it's just me, but I never really put a lot of stock into what *might* make my sometimes sweet, sometimes surly teen happy on vacation. DH and I did not have vacations like cruising when we were her age, so she is fortunate to even get that kind of trip. We chose based on where we thought as a family we would enjoy spending time together. And price and logistics factored into it too. She is grown now but we are actually going on a family cruise in August. She doesn't care what ship or where we go, but is excited about spending 9 nights on a cruise with her mom, dad and grandpa celebrating her graduation from graduate school, grandpa's 80th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. Just my 2 cents, YMMV
  19. Feb cruise down$600! Next May no change and this August, no more cabins in our category and we are past final payment.
  20. When we started cruising in 2003,we dressed up. Suits, long gowns, etc. When we took DD we all dressed. After a while, we decided that taking all the extra stuff was just too much of a hassle. So DH has Dockers and polo shirts or Hawaiian shirts. I might wear a sundress or Capri pants and a nice top. I have never cared what anyone else is wearing, as I really don't care so long as all your private bits are covered up.
  21. me either! We booked corner aft balconies on her for this August, can't wait for 9 days of waking up to that!
  22. Ah forgot about the "book by" date! Mine for this year were booked WAAAAAY in advance, so I didn't remember that!
  23. Shouldn't you make diamond after the 7 night with the current double points situation? I believe they are doing double points for all cruises through the end of the year still, unless something changed?
