  1. You can bet that's the case. I don't know why some think that is the same. Lets compare apples to apples
  2. Here is the theory about not having the grats in the HIA package generally. Hal "claims" people prefer the shorex. Maybe 2% do but I'm willing to bet most people would prefer the grats. I think the only people they asked is their other executive colleagues at hal.
  3. Welcome to Holland america. The things that I’ve heard from them lately make me shake my head. Treat long time customer like this. Way to treat people. Please don’t punish the crew by removing the tips. They won’t be able to keep the cash you give them.
  4. Any drinks you “buy” (coffee, water, alcohol) will have the service charge. If you pick up a muffin, sandwich, pie, cookie etc that you do not pay for will have no service charge. Gelato has a charge therefore the service charge.
  5. Yeah but you aren’t in such close proximity to others as you are on a cruise. That said, I don’t enjoy the production shows and I don’t take tons of excursions. My idea of a good night is curling up in bed and watching a movie or sitting on my balcony with a lovely drink enjoying the ocean. The last few months have been like a 2 by 4 to the head about 10 times a day and I just want to be and rest for a bit.
  6. Exactly, maybe someone could use a crayon to color in the negative. Why go through all the work of taking a test 🙄? I used to do cruises twice a year. I’ve got mega constraints on me now and if nothing changes I don’t think I’ll be taking a spring cruise because nothing “works” with my constraints. I’m thinking it might be a good thing after all to do a land vacation or something else.
  7. No club orange will not get you extra Mariners points any more than purchasing a cabin.
  8. @jeff74 I hope it happens for you. I’ve seen that note many times before. I’m not convinced on that but I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong.
  9. Yes I got tested in March for my b2b but they haven’t been doing that for a while.
  10. No, you won't be charged for a muffin. Those are free. Absolutely you'll be charged the 18% in the Pinnacle.
  11. Porters are not included in the tipping. They are not Hal employees. If you choose to remove the tips and give money to select people, they will have to turn it in.
  12. Yes I ate at sel de mer a few times in March on the koningsdam and had the lobster every time. It was always one tail and it was amazing. I hope it’s as good with two but I have my doubts. Disappointing.
  13. There used to be fruit but unless that has changed since March you don't get it in balcony rooms. If you are in a Neptune suite that might be the case. I was told you need to order it through room service. I went to the Lido or got it in my cabana.
  14. I’m pretty sure there will be 3. That’s been my experience with cruises to the Panama Canal. Several years ago there would be 4.
  15. I should really go for lamb next time at the pinnacle if I dine there. I really enjoy it but somehow I never think to order it. Thanks for mentioning it. Agree with you that those should be the gala nights.
  16. Absolutely. Hopefully it would be the same at the pop up as the op is on the westerdam. Information for the op, I’m not sure you can get both steak and lobster at sel de mer. The last time I had lobster at the pinnacle it wasn’t good.
  17. I find that you can google and sometimes it comes up with reviews from several sources. Try YouTube as well. I was nervous about the condition of the road on an excursion I want to take. Actually found a video shows the state of the road.
  18. Yup, exactly what I said a couple days ago to be told I was wrong. Appreciate the confirmation. Thanks.
  19. Yup me too. Go to the gym a lot plus walk 10 to 15 k steps a day.
  20. That is the least they could do for those that pay a hefty price for those suites. It would be interesting to see how many actually have a drink package already though.
