  1. I believe you can bring a “reasonable” amount on as long as you pay corkage. No free bottles anymore.
  2. That would not be cool to fly home with covid. I hope no one puts people’s health in jeopardy like that. I have a friend that tested positive for covid. He was on the last few days of a Panama cruise carrying on to Canada. He had to quarantine on the ship and then on land once in Canada. Hal picked up the bill. That was when they were still testing on board. Everything I’ve read says they are not doing that. If you contact hal and they say yes they will pick up the bill it could change in a day. I probably worry more then most people what if, but sometimes you have to decide if it’s more important to go for your mental health or stay home. Unfortunately nothing is in stone with this virus.
  3. I think it’s luck more than anything. I’m not going to stop taking any booster that is offered. I wouldn’t be comfortable if the cruise lines had no restrictions on vaccinations. I’m speaking for myself personally and not everyone. Are these vaccinated people taking care on hygiene? Are the unvaccinated being super careful? I’m not saying they are not but there may be a reason.
  4. I used to really dress up for formal nights as they called them at that time. Hal has gotten less and less formal over time. Food has gotten to be meh to my taste on these nights. I got tired of dressing up when others were wearing yoga pants for formal nights. Now I wear regular pants and a chiffon or dressy “jacket” with a more dressy tank, sometimes a regular tank. I think hal will let you in the mdr as long as you aren’t wearing shorts. I’m puzzled at the op asking if slacks and a collared shirt was ok. I thought that was mentioned as being ok on the hal website but I’m not motivated to look.
  5. I’ve been able to pick a specific cabin at the same price as the guarantee. Of course it has to be at that level and it’s not available all the time. It’s worth asking though.
  6. Well I guess the only answer is to phone hal and ask for written details so you’ll have proof positive. I have a b2b in the fall and I’m perfectly comfortable with what I hear on this board. Generally I find “most” information is much more reliable than hal. It’s not going to change my plans one bit. Being Canadian we’ve had to go through tons of testing to cruise from USA ports that folks from USA have not had to deal with. I had to test to come down, in between my b2b and to go home in November and March. Things change. Hal’s generally not good with communicating.
  7. I would trust real world examples more than the outdated info on hals website on this matter. Will it change next week, next month, next year? Who knows.
  8. Good information on the halibut. I find it’s always overcooked for me in the pinnacle.
  9. I’m pretty sure I can do it through WhatsApp. When I try to turn wifi calling on my phone it won’t let me do it. My phone is new so I don’t think that’s the issue. I don’t have an iPhone.
  10. I did actually google this last night and it looks like it’s not an option on my phone/carrier. Thanks for the information though.
  11. That’s above my skill level 😛😉
  12. You'll get charged for that 206 area code number unless you have free international or nationwide calling though. I'm not in that boat.
  13. Good if you are retired or a trust fund baby with seemingly months and month off to travel. Not so good for those with limited holidays still in the workforce.
  14. I think you’d be out of luck at check in. Rooms would be assigned so likely nothing left or may not be.
  15. That said, if you book a b2b you may pay the $25 per day. I know that's what I got charged for a b2b. I have 2 booking numbers though.
  16. I haven’t found it to be that good in Canaletto. Whenever I’ve had it it seems like it’s been in the freezer too long, more icy than anything else. I don’t find the gelato place to be like that but it’s been a while since I had it.
  17. Hmc is the nicer beach. I’m not a fan of tenders so grand Turk is just easier.
  18. I’m sure it will be no problem. I’d be very surprised if they said no.
  19. In the past when I’ve done b2b I’ve had one booking number. I don’t recall getting many upsells on those but I might have just forgotten. On the koningsdam in both November and in March I got an upsell for a balcony to a vista suite on one of the cruises but not both. I had 2 booking numbers and I took it on the November cruise but not March. I called to see how much it was for a Neptune suite but it was very high even though the ship was at approximately 40 percent.
  20. Yeah it was a little disorganized on my cruise on the koningsdam in November 2021. I had to move everything out of the drawers. The only thing the moved was my hanging items. He took my luggage that was fairly full of my room stuff smashing the walls all the way. This was a supervisor. I was fine moving my own luggage but he insisted.
  21. I’ll believe it when I see it, or more likely don’t. But Gus said it would so it will 😂.
  22. Why would you test before you fly then at the port🙄. Talk about overkill. I’m still very worried about catching covid but this is overkill. I know several people that have gotten covid lately. None of them them have been flying or on a cruise ship. There are so few restrictions now for those that don’t care to follow any, why would this be surprising?
