  1. Sorry I can only work with what was given. I’m not a systems guru so it’s above my pay grade. I don’t understand your comment about the menu changing/not changing. It used to before Covid. It no longer does no matter if it’s embarkation, Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday. There is no fig goat cheese salad.
  2. I’ve sailed with hal regularly for 20 plus years, usually a couple times a year. Any opportunity I have to eat in the mdr I take. I’ve never seen it on the menu so it must have been a very small window that it was offered. I’m ok with the Dutch cafe. I just don’t like the lido. I’ve never tasted any of the sweets there. The only other place I’ve seen bitterballen is at cocktail parties but that’s been many years gone.
  3. Yup, the same. Some have reported even less on the menu called and express menu although I haven’t seen that. I think someone “may” have posted the express menu because it was pretty tiny but I can’t remember when. I have zero luck when I search for things on here.
  4. You won’t be having it in the mdr. I just posted the menu. If it was in the mdr I would have had it by now. That 4 or 4:30 time frame doesn’t work great for me unless I’m skipping dinner or having something lighter. I can’t eat like that or I’d be gaining 20 lbs and I’m active.
  5. No it’s not. I hope the file I’m attaching here will work ok. There is a veal Kroket that I feel is similar but it’s not the same
  6. The mdr was not open on any of my cruises on the koningsdam so that option might not be open to you. I see you mentioned bitterballen for lunch. They don’t start serving them until 4 or 4:30 at the Dutch cafe so it will be a late lunch.
  7. The mdr menu was completely different before Covid. It changed every day. Now it’s the same no matter what.
  8. Surprised but not. The only thing I see on there that's different from a 7 day cruise is the fish choice, maybe the steak.
  9. The bitterballen are only served from 4 or 4:30 to maybe 8 or so unless something has changed.
  10. That’s a good idea. I just bring so much other stuff I don’t want to drag anything else. I don’t need it anyway. It’s more the thought than anything else. It just seems such an odd thing to cut. I love the towel animals too.
  11. People do but I would say it average. There are better things for sure.
  12. I asked for chocolates more often on the koningsdam and was told no only on gala nights. Then it wasn't even then. I know someone is going to say they didn't have problems. I'm speaking for my cabin on my cruises. I just gave up after a while. And I did ask nicely before someone brings up that nugget. Thanks for the info on the N.Statendam.
  13. I wonder. I’m not a lucky person so this was surprising. It seems incredibly stupid but maybe they are doing last in first processed which isn’t right. I hope you hear soon.
  14. Will let you know. I bet it will be a while.
  15. I’m fairly certain I’ve seen Indonesian food somewhat recently in the Asian food area at lunch. Not every day but on a rotating basis. I’ve had the opportunity to talk to many of the crew over the years. I love to hear stories about life on a ship. I’ve asked multiple times about the food. I always seem to hear the same thing. It’s ok but pretty much the same daily. It would have to be. It’s been a long standing tradition for some of the crew to get off the ship in mazatlan and go to a restaurant and cook a meal. Just a taste of home and a little something different. I’m glad they get this little break and some joy in what must be very hard work. I think anything that anyone would get at the Asian station would likely be more tasty and flavourful then what the crew would get.
  16. I got the same email today too. Couldn’t wait to get home from work today to see what my present was 😛😛. I applied July 1 and got approved today so I must be in the sweet spot of not having to wait forever. Its lovely not to have to go for an interview. I’ve had my card for 10 years so I don’t know if that makes a difference. So much for the thought that if you change employers or have other changes you’ll be investigated and have to drive across the border for an interview
  17. Ouch. Makes hal's wine look pretty reasonable.
  18. Before I had a drink package I thought of every drink I’ve had. I like certain things on board and to do that I need to cut out other things that aren’t necessary like alcohol. I’m not a trust fund baby and I don’t have family money so there is not an endless supply of cash for me.
  19. Yes I wouldn’t expect you to say anything else. A few people I know and trust cited multiple situations of the food that was not good. Clearly they saved the good food for you.
  20. In the past there was countless posts about people slapping a luggage tag on wine. This was before corkage was charged. I have zero problems with people paying corkage and dragging it n themselves. I guess you didn’t notice that I was referring to the past.
  21. Is that ever true. You’d hate to miss that riveting can I get orange juice or milkshakes on a beverage package. That some really good reading.
