  1. It’s pretty crazy. I’ll go to a large online cruise seller (that we can’t mention the name of) and a private sale will show there. It even states my Mariner level on there. I do not sign into that site. Yet hal doesn’t want you to see that rate. Great business 😛🙄.
  2. It’s not just Japan cruises. I booked a cruise later than I normally do because other choices I’d picked out with other lines didn’t pan out. I did take the hia but finding excursions between mobility issues and late booking was a challenge.
  3. Private fares as mentioned do not always show online. Also the advantage fare doesn’t either. They need to get it together and get more people in the fold. Excuses don’t bring in business.
  4. Glad it showed for you. I would have felt the same way you did. Enjoy your cruise.
  5. It seems ok on my iPad but it’s having hissy fits on my phone.
  6. That's fine if it works for you. Everyone doesn't have to subscribe to that theory. Everyone has a different financial situation. I'm not going to tell people how to feel.
  7. You are right. I remember seeing them on some ta website. I don’t know why hal has to keep it a double super secret meet me in the beer bunker for pricing 😛.
  8. You are right about that. I forgot about that. I remember a time when I booked a cruise within a couple weeks of cruising and had no problem getting a cabana. That was pre pandemic and it’s just a regular cabana. I think there is zero percent chance of that happening now. It seems the same with club orange. Booked a fall cruise a couple months ago a got one of the last 5 spots. I booked a cabana shortly after. Serves us right for speaking highly of these amenities.
  9. I agree. While it might work that way I’ve seen it reported otherwise.
  10. No, not really. You can get the advantage fare that is refundable without hia. But it’s super secret pricing. It’s so secret they don’t put it on the website.
  11. Not everyone gets those. Hopefully there will be less freebies so they don’t have to up charge the rest of the prices.
  12. Hal is famous for sky high prices out of the gate then they give away the farm closer to the cruise date. I’m hearing that from a lot of cruise lines. I’m still working so I’m stuck for now. Can’t wait for the day I can cherry pick closer to the cruise date. Unfortunately air usually is high so that takes away savings.
  13. When you purchase co you will get your upgrade at that time. You can pick from the available cabins in that category i.e. inside to better inside etc. You’ll need to pay for co at that time.
  14. It is huge. When I had it I was just told it was veal. I was thinking it was a veal cutlet which I love. When they brought it out I thought it was a tomahawk steak it was so huge.
  15. This is eye opening. I’m sure I’ve heard it before but I’d forgotten. It’s a good reminder so thank you.
  16. Thanks for the information. It looks really good. When I’ve added the small lobster it wasn’t good so I’m reluctant. The lobster is excellent in sel de mer so I’ve been spoiled. That key lime pie is delicious.
  17. You will be busy. I wanted to ask how the lobster was in the pinnacle. Was it worth the upcharge? I suppose I could use it on my freebie night then just pay the $15 so it wouldn’t seem as much. Thanks.
  18. I agree. This is even worse for early dining because that one is really sought after. I rarely go to the dining room so I always pick open.
  19. I think they just leave the beds in the configuration they were for the last passengers. I never wait until disembarkation to leave the extra tip. I do it the night before in a clearly marked envelope.
  20. Yes you can and the sooner the better. That said, sometimes these things aren't available until closer into the cruise.
  21. I think you and I are in the high price silo. I see people saying all the time on here how low prices are. They must be open to a few because I'm not seeing them with further out cruises.
  22. I bet that is true. I’ve found the service to be pretty much non existent in non happy hour times too though. That said I don’t spend a ton of time in any bar. I’d be curious what percentage of people get hia.
  23. Unfortunately I have to fly every time. I pack it in my checked. Sometimes they get silly about the strangest things. I brought 2 iPods once and was asked why.
  24. I just leave extra tips in an envelope with a thank you note. Sometimes it’s hard to find them at night.
