  1. My last post should have said shook not shock ;). I'm pretty certain the vista I had was 4213. I believe the balcony I had was 4171 but I'm not certain. It was somewhere in that neighbourhood for sure.
  2. I got some absolutely gorgeous flowers on my last cruise if that’s of any interest.
  3. I had a cabin with a larger balcony. I took this upsell expecting the balcony to be bigger. When I saw the balcony I thought were is the rest of it. Got the same offer on the next cruise and passed on it. I shock like crazy on top of it. It was over the wake. I had that type of room before and it didn’t feel like that.
  4. Looks like you are on a pinnacle ship for your cruise. I took an upsell to a vista from a balcony. It was a waste of money in my mind. It was barely bigger and the balcony was tiny compared to the balcony room. I wouldn't do it again on a pinnacle ship.
  5. Threads are easily passed by. Gas went up 10 cents a gallon and you think that’s outrageous? Don’t come to Canada then. It can go up 10 cents a litre in a day here. That would be around 45 cents for you.
  6. I’m sorry you are struggling to understand. Income stopped for a lot of companies. Nothing different here.
  7. I don’t think “everyone” was assuming that. I saw very little of that but maybe I glossed over that.
  8. Didn’t you say that you had do not upsell checked on your cruise. It stuck in my mind because I’ve never heard of that ever. Do not upgrade yes, but do not upsell, no.
  9. Hal has not had many new ships compared to other lines. I imagine that their spending would be similar. I’m so glad everyone is posting that hal is a for profit business. I had no idea 🤪.
  10. That’s not what you said though. You said you’ve yet to see that on the pinnacle ships. There was no except for club orange in your statement. I do find something interesting though. There are plenty of people that say they love the small ship yet they talk about sailing n the Rotterdam, nieuw statendam and koningsdam. There is one poster that never lets an opportunity go by to say how he hates those ships yet seems to be one one of those ships every other week. I do hope those that love those ships do support them or they will be gone too.
  11. I really tire of hearing how cruise lines are suffering. Who hasn’t suffered from the pandemic? What about the 147 years proceeding the pandemic when they were raking in the cash? Where is all that money now?
  12. I’ve had the opposite. I was on the koningsdam in November 2021. The guy that did the mimosas in club orange was so sweet. Used to tease me for not drinking mimosas in the morning but having cocktails at night. Fast forward to March 2022. I went up to check my cabana the first day and there he was. He came running up to me and hugged me saying how happy he was to see me before I could say a word. The hostess in club orange remembered me as well, even the time I was on the ship. They see tons of people so it was impressive.
  13. I’ve purchased the hia for $50 usd per day on a couple cruises. I’ve also purchased it with hia pricing because it worked out less. Maybe hal should stop giving away free cruises like candy and they wouldn’t have to up prices and charge for a second app in the pinnacle.
  14. Its based entirely on the length of the cruise. 14 days and longer is $15, anything shorter is $25 on all classes of ships. I could not get it for $15 on my b2b 7 day cruise (separate booking numbers).
  15. For sure, but there is going to be one I bet. I can't think of another reason.
  16. I'd pick the rotterdam even though its less days. I'm not a fan of the old ships. That said I've been to every port on the Zaandam except for St. Vincent.
  17. Agree but you know one person is going to complain that they want the old menu.
  18. Yeah you probably have that right. It will be easy to grab another app if wanted from the Lido 😉.
  19. Canaletto has come a very LONG away since it started. I feel it was just the worst when it started. It was free at that time and I don’t think it was worth even that. I really love it now (I’m not Italian though 😛). I’m looking forward to the new menu. Glad that the ossobuco will be a mainstay.
  20. Thank you so very much. I really want to do this excursion so thank you for putting my mind at ease.
  21. That's a little too late for me but that's probably a great time to go. The people that came in when the MDR first opened are probably leaving at that time.
  22. Its standard operating procedure it seems. Assumes everyone has no idea what they are talking about.
  23. Have you actually tried open dining? The only way I'll ever do fixed is if there is no other choice. I don't want to be stuck night after night with the same people. I have very few requests so it's not an issue for me.
