  1. A bus both ways to the tops above Geiranger. I did it 3 times. 1st time ships excursion early spring and road to one of the tops closed (snow). 2nd time Mini bus perfect to all view points 3nd time (no minivans available (too much tourists who want to book?) big bus perfect to both tops. As I understand there has to be a Hop On Hop Off now..... And of course I agree with `you will see the 7 Sisters from your cruise ship`. Be sure to be in front or on top of the ship to see both sides of the fjord. And maybe wake up early to see it early in the morning too. Enjoy Geiranger (maybe a cup of hot chocolate at Geiranger Sjokolade in the small street in the direction of Hotel Geiranger (of the film The Wave....). See Geirangersjokoladedotno
  2. First time we were in Iceland we did a long Golden Circle Tour from Reykjavik and the long tour to Myvatn etc from Akureyri. We both would do it again for a first trip to Iceland (what we did not know then is that we were able to repeat our visits 😉 ).
  3. Thank you for this information. The 2nd cruise we will be on board with one of our daughters and it would be nice to be able to rent a car for an "outing" in f.e. Reykjavik as we already did or will do quite a few company excursions in most ports.... . And for you: all will go well, very good roads in Iceland (if you stay on the main roads...). Quite a few family members and friends travelled in Iceland by car and all were happy (or younger than we are or shipped cars and caravans in a container or took a (car-)ferry from Denmark.)
  4. Very good! I checked a few and Sunny cars mentions different ages and even 65 . And difference in insurances. https://www.sunnycars.nl/en/extras/age-rental/ I read the ins and outs on this page and it seems to depend upon the destination too. Of course I wish you perfect excursions (and am a tiny little bit jealous of course) in the 3 ports! .
  5. I trusted them......but thanks a lot for your reaction. In the meantime we enjoyed 2 Iceland cruises and will enjoy the next two. And the excursions of course.
  6. Please donot tell friends over 75 yrs of age unless they ship their own car to Iceland. Carhire over 75 is not possible according to family and friends....
  7. Dutch café on Pinnacle ships is open early in the morning of disembarkation.....
  8. We had double shot cappuccino's at about 08:30 AM on board ms Nieuw Statendam May 5th, 2024, day of disembarkation. No charges.

  10. First: print a map of Trondheim at www.Whatsinport.com. Leaving the terminal, walk straight on along the water till you cross the road (Brattorkaie?)parallel to the cruise quai. Somewhere to the right or left (sorry) is a bus stop (we stopped him in the middle of the road 😉). Bus 25 brings you to the center right in front of the office of the buscompany. From there quite regular transportation to the cathedral. I am so sorry that I cannot mention those busnumbers nor the normally low price. We could not pay that day with money nor with cards (digital systems.....and the drivers said: just sit down....it's OK). Public transport in Trondheim is very good. Trondheim is a very nice city, but if you would like to visit the surroundings: go with the tram at St Gustavsgate to Lian and back. At the office of the bus/tramcompany we bought tickets for a very nice 1,5 hour tour and paid NOK 22 per person). And I visited the cathedral and the other buildings once with a daughter and once with DH; absolutely worthwhile.
  11. Not the Hague, but did you visit the Keukenhof https://keukenhof.nl/en/ before? It will close at May 12th this year and I understand you will be in the right period in the Hague. Short railway trip to Leiden and from the station with the special bus to the Keukenhof. Enjoy your stay in the Netherlands!
  12. My experience during several Norwegian cruises: yes. And I never brought cash to Norway. Last year: DH forgot his appointment with his hairdresser and had to look for one in Norway who accepted credit cards: only Norwegian cards accepted and we had to look for an ATM first..... (Yes, I know the alternative: hairdresser on board HAL ships.....).

  14. And I would like to add: We like Aarhus too.....
  15. Problem can be for OP that for a AMS flight departure at around 09:00 AM he/she/they will have to be at the airport check-in counter on or before 07:00 AM.
  16. Sunset around August 3rd in Rotterdam is around 21.30. So it will be "dark" around 22:00. Perfect time to be back in your hotel. If I remember well, we brought our luggage last year to the cruise terminal around 09:30 in the morning. You can then perfectly visit the surroundings, even come back for the check-in, visit your cabin for a moment and go back ashore (maybe to cross the bridge and visit the old quarters on the left hand side (as seen from the m.s. Rotterdam or the Cruise Terminal) .And maybe take a watertaxi back to the Hotel New York location next to the terminal and ship? Enjoy your stay.
  17. And as I understood on a Grand Voyage too.
  18. See the Carnival corp publication with all information about shareholders benefit: they already did: untill December 31st, 2024. So you can go ahead (I already did for our August cruise with success 😉).
  19. @Alphen As from today: shareholders OBC not visible anymore in Navigator. Reason? Please let me know whether it is the case in your Navigator too.
  20. @Tampa Girl I applied for August 3rd, so exactly 5 months ahead.....Surprises me, but, as I have no plan to sell as long as we are able to cruise, I appreciate this very much, for the same reason as @CGinMTL mentions: removal from "to do" list.
  21. @CHPURSERThanks for the corrected time for travelling from Narita to Tokyo. Before our cruise I calculated the difference in time from hotels in Tokyo to the locations we planned to visit and with Nikko Narita. In our case travelling from a Tokyo hotel to catch our flight in the morning was part of the decision to book Nikko.
  22. Before I never found any OBC too and as of now I still donot see any "normal" OBC, but I was surprised to see this this morning: Open APP Navigator Account/Myaccount Profile Cruise credits, Deposits & Onboard Credits scroll all the way down to Onboard Credits text AVAILABLE #..... SAIL by 9 maart 2025 USD $.... #.... SAIL by 9 maart 2025 USD $ Hartelijke groet.
  23. In the meantime: Everything approved and applied. And even visible in Navigator for both bookings!
