  1. Although passengers were allowed to leave on Friday morning after our immigration/customs check. Ship personnel were clear that we would not be allowed to disembark on Saturday. So we could leave two days early but not one day early. Not exactly sure why but at least we had good communication.
  2. The answer to both questions is yes. We are getting lattes from the machine every morning on our cruise. No need to wait for the butler to bring them especially if you don’t always want them at the same time every day.
  3. I am amused that a thread titled “Ignore This” could receive 65+ views in a very short period of time. I guess we’re all not very good at following instructions!
  4. And do you get a credit for the unused portion of the airfare?
  5. In April I booked a Deluxe Veranda Guarantee for a March 2024 Nova Panama Canal sailing. That was exactly what I got when the cabin was assigned last week.
  6. My experience is the same- no more Oceania brochures lately. Also no Silversea, Seabourn, Regent or Windstar brochures that I used to get regularly. What gives?
  7. Based on the excellent information on this topic I plan on wearing ear plugs to Ember on my upcoming Vista cruise and enjoying a companionable silence with my DH. 😉
  8. Thank you! I’ve been biting my tongue every time I see the plural versions.
  9. Lots of good information to be had on the Muse on the Silversea forum. Personally, I have been on one Seabourn cruise and two Silversea expedition cruises so I’m not the one to give you advice. But they are not shy on the Silversea forum!
  10. Mine is displayed in the same manner in my online account.
  11. I specifically moved from deck 10 to deck 9 to be closer to the concierge lounge. It makes it so much easier to grab the first cup of coffee in the morning while I’m getting ready for the day vs. having to run up and down the stairs. And yes, I know I could have room service deliver coffee but this way I don’t have to be on the lookout for the knock on the door announcing its arrival.
  12. We tried to get a bottle of Cognac for our cabin. No go, but they did substitute a bottle of brandy.
  13. A little bit different point of view here. My MO is to try ‘em all and see what I like. I’ve sailed on one Viking Ocean, one (fabulous) Crystal cruise before they went under (and appreciated all your comments on that line), 2 Silversea Expeditions, one Oceania and one Seabourn. Why not try it and see what you like? I have been able to find itineraries I like at a price point I can afford. Upcoming we have an Oceania Vista, a SS Nova, Seabourn Venture and a Regent Mariner TA booked. You’ll find that many on this board and others have found their “home away from home” cruise line. Like you, I’m still searching and I hope both you and I find that place. Until then Cruise well and enjoy every moment!
  14. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂…….
  15. Thank you, Techno 123. I know what you mean about the TV noise-we had this issue on another line on a brand new ship. We don't usually turn the TV on at all when we cruise. Our neighbors turned it on and left it on LOUD any time they were in the cabin. It was a less than desirable situation.
  16. Thank you! That’s exactly the information I was looking for.
  17. I’m booked on an Arctic cruise next year on the Venture. I’ve heard that on some ships a cabin that has an adjoining door to the next cabin can be noisier than one without. Anyone care to conjecture that this would be the case on a new ship like the Venture?
  18. If you do find yourself on a cruise with a stop in Casablanca try a tour to Rabat. It was a full day excursion from Casablanca and was delightful. October 2022.
  19. Go to the Blue Lagoon. Best cure ever for jet lag. Be sure to make a reservation for the day/time you want to go.
  20. We are unfortunately unable to find any suitable voyages in the first release of Crystal cruise itineraries. On a very positive and encouraging note for those of us who dealt with OC refunds, my request to cancel my open booking was acknowledged the same day I sent it and the credit appeared on my AMEX within a couple of days.
  21. I’ve been following your solo adventures on a few different CC sites, PhD-Iva. My DH is getting to the point where he doesn’t want to hassle with international travel anymore, hence the desire to branch out and do some solo travel. I have appreciated the advice and information you’ve shared.
  22. I know what you mean. I had originally booked this trip in November 2019 for a November 2020 travel date. I have rebooked it 6 times since then. I have traveled with AMA and they are great, too.
  23. Regent actually has 20 cruises with a 0% single supplement available right now. I thought this would be the perfect way to try out Regent. I’m booked for a Transatlantic next year.
  24. We are going with Viking River Cruises.
  25. We’re leaving in 2 weeks for a similar extended experience in Egypt and Jordan. After this, I would consider a cruise that takes us to Cairo so I can see the GEM once it opens. I have a ticket to see the lobby, entrance, etc. but it’s not fully open yet. Otherwise a land and Nile cruise trip is the way to go for Egypt IMHO.
