We cruised Dec and Jan. Nothing happened between then and May except a different Captain and CD. 😆 😂

We've spent close to 45 days on EC since the restart and have 1 more cruise booked. Our regular veranda cabin did not have the sheer drapes, Aqua and Suite both did. Sad shape is a bit of a stretch, Chairs could use replacing in many venues, we also had a carpet tearing and that was fixed. Im sure if I started looking I could find a lot more issues but thats not what I do. The crew is excellent, we sleep well, enjoy good food and way to many drinks…No complaints here except possibly the lack of Zacapa at the World Class Bar 😆

Ok, i always thought it was check in time, my bad. If they offer 10am, great. 7 cruises since the restart and I don't think Ive seen earlier than 11. If you haven’t cruised from Canada Place (depending on the number of ships) it can be quite the mess with people arriving and dropping bags and people disembarking. Are you by any chance staying at one of the hotels that will transport your luggage. I only say this because you mention your Senior Parents.

Are youdoing this on the App? I’ve only ever chosen a boarding time. Have you done that? I highly doubt you will be able to board at Canada Place at 10am

Oh, you’re right, I was looking at tonnage. Apparently Century went in 2012 but not after. And also RC does have Brilliance stopping at Nawiliwili so I was wrong about that too 😆

10 years ago while sailing Century to Hawaii I was told why no X (or RC) ships go to Kauai, it was not due to size. If Golden Princess isn't too big then surely Century would fit and Solstice? Can anyone refresh my memory?

Our experience in all 3 (main) dining venues, we had no problem getting a bowl of veggies on the side or extra salad.

Sugar Free Vitamin water is available, not sure about Red Bull or Teas. Premium gets you glass bottles of water vs tin cans. Wines selections are hit or miss depending on where you dine, what is on the list may not actually be available . As far as wines at bars, Cellar Masters has the largest variety of wines by the glass but they don't open until after 4pm. Bring the 4 bottles of wine and decide onboard if you want to upgrade. If you upgrade to the premium pkg there is no corkage fee, if you don't, just take a glass of wine to dinner.

We’ve had 3 cruises on EC since Dec including the same cruise as the OP. We had 11+ days in each dining room, MD, Blu and Luminae. There were many very good meals, some average and even a couple that we returned. As to the comment of no Prime Rib, it was on the MDR menu for the last Chic night, was it not available? Been cruising X for 20+ years and the food is not as good as it once was but IMO it certainly doesn't suck. If you eat breakfast early, go to your assigned dining room for better quality food. We tend to eat later and did the breakfast buffet many times for made to order eggs, which is an option until 11am.

Just off a 12 night and as I recall no menu repeated (although some items did repeat).

We’ve done both directions, discovered after the most recent cruise that we like HI to Vancouver. It was nice to have a few days on Oahu pre cruise, followed by activities on the other islands then 5 relaxing sea days. We had a port side cabin and enjoyed beautiful sunsets and enjoyed some afternoons relaxing on the balcony.

Does snorkeing interest you? Or depending on the time of year, book a whale watch tour.

One option if you are seriously considering this is to book a hotel with a liberal cancellation policy on a couple of the islands and also book a car for the same days then cancel if you decide not to revisit.

When you sail from SF you’ll want to be on an open deck especially if you have never sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge. We’re currently on our way to Vancouver and are port side, we’ve had some nice sunsets but since you’re RT that doesn't matter 😆

You can also bring 2 bottle pp at embarkation. They used to sell 3,5 or 7 bottle packages onboard, not sure if they still do that. If you only drink 3-5 glasses of wine and only at dinner, purchasing the bev package may not be the best option for you, unless you are interested in the bottled water, coffee, soda, etc.

Im actually surprised companies are still offering whale watching in May. I hope you get lucky. Excited to be back on Eclipse in 9 days 😁

What did you learn about Whales and Dolphins in Hawaii? I imagine the whales will mostly be heading to Alaska. Maybe we’ll see some dolphins on a snorkel excursion.?

We really enjoyed Carderos. Good food, and after dinner a nice walk back to Canada Place

We’ve snorkeled with Trilogy a few times, they have a 10am Lanai snorkel trip.

Excited to follow your travels across the Pacific, it will be my countdown to the May 6 cruise.

In Jan the smoking area on deck 5 was forward on the port-side, not outside al Bacio.

Definitely one of the most entertaining trivia we have ever gone to and just as much fun the 2nd time!
