  1. Mer Soleil chard yes and Decoy Cab. Jerry the Somm is great, he will work with you.
  2. If you’re asking about how people dress on the ship, that will vary by cruise line as well.
  3. I was planning to post a glowing review of Opoli. We booked rides LAX to Redondo/Torrance area hotel and from the hotel to Berth 93. Both were perfect, on-time, clean vehicle, better price than Uber or Lyft. Any positive things I had to say about them went completely out the window yesterday. We booked a 9:05am pick up at the port to LGB. I had a notification they were on the way (10 min out) at 8:30. Long story abbreviated…Our driver arrived early, took someone else to LGB, then headed back to pick us up. Based on our phone calls, I’m not sure he was planning to come back. We got in his car (which was old, dusty and dirty) at 9:55 and arrived at LGB at 10:25. Amazingly we made our 11:20 flight. When I reached out to PrimeTime shuttle who apparently owns Opoli I was offered $20 off a future ride. I told them that after 3 rides and spending close to $150 that was an insulting offer. I have suggested Opoli several times on CC, but no more! Thanks for letting me vent!
  4. In many hotels and also a couple times on the ship, we ask to have the AC filter replaced. We had a musty smell on Summit many years ago, they replaced the filthy filter and voila…
  5. Not necessarily impossible, if no delays (6am arrival) then you should be able to be off the ship by 7:45 or 8. The cruise debarking on 11/17 has had the scheduled changed 7am, which could also happen for your cruise. What about BUR or SNA? A bit farther than LAX but maybe better flight times?
  6. Have done it 2 times on Solstice since the restart, I want to say Feb 2023 was the most recent. Great meal and wine. Wish it was offered on EC.
  7. Thanks. Our last time on Luminae on Eclipse the ship was full so this may be a nice change.
  8. I had a confirmation from this email address…went to junk noreply%RCLCOEX@rccl.com
  9. Captain Leo is great. Would be happy to cruise with either of them.
  10. Cakebread, an appellation specific Pinot that retails for $45+ is hardly entry level. The Jackson wines are generally “California” I call that entry level. Unless of course it is made by perhaps Siduri or Hartford 😆
  11. We board Eclipse on the 11th. Other than the menu in Luminae how is the overall service including wine? The server we had in May is on holiday and the somm has moved to Ascent.
  12. Back to Lodi Zin…if you like Lodi try some from El Dorado or Amador county. We loved them when we first moved to El Dorado county but after a few years they were just too much for everyday. I like something I don't need to have with food. Personal Preference is Santa Lucia and Russian River Chard or Pinot! So the Mer Soleil they have had onboard works for me. I’ll see of they still have it on a week. The Cakebread Pinot in Luminae I believe, is a thing of the past i was told I drank the last bottle 😆 Cheers
  13. California wines are plentiful and available, 2020 is the only recent year where harvesting and bottling were a challenge. 2023 harvest was in many places later, but this season wouldn’t affect what is currently on ships.
  14. If Nia is the hostess, she most likely won’t let shorts in after tonight. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she mentioned that to them.
  15. For our upcoming cruise, our TA was able to get us moved within the same category after our move-up bid was accepted. There were several staterooms still available at the time. I asked the same question on FB and most people said “no” so I was pleasantly surprised.
  16. I will pass this on to him when we see him in 2 weeks! We find the bartenders at Passport hit or miss, he is a great addition. When we first met him he was in the martini bar. Be sure to mention him in your post cruise survey!
  17. We were on Solstice in Feb, LA, Catalina, Cabo, San Diego, LA. Customs in SD was 45-60 min. No assigned times. I would say that was average unless you hit it just right!
  18. Did you by chance meet Made at the Passport bar? We have kept in touch with him over the years, we don’t usually go to the passport bar but on our last cruise, we did just to see him.
  19. @Stockjock Glad you are happy with the WCB. The mixologists are different from August, it’s usually our favorite bar depending on who is making the drinks! How was customs/immigration in San Diego? Did it take long? In Feb it was a time consuming process.
  20. Nice to read this. We did a move to a sunset SS and were assigned to deck 12. Surprisingly our TA was able to get this changed to a corner on deck 9.
  21. Shame you wouldn’t sail on EC or an older one. We’ve spent 60+ nights onboard since the restart. The crew is excellent and despite being a bit dated she is well maintained …although the toilet experience by Stockjock is concerning.
  22. It looks like you did an excursion of some sort in Cabo? Did I miss what it was? Did tenders over night while you were in Cabo?
  23. Thanks for your posts! We cruise in a couple of weeks. The question has been asked on another social media group re tender schedule for overnight in Cabo… From previous experience in think they run overnight, just less frequently? Also, do you have 1 or 2 chic nights and when… Have a great cruise.
