  1. I would put it on par with a typical Dickey's restaurant. It's not terrible but if you are a BBQ snob (I am too) it won't rock your world.
  2. Exactly, I've got good luggage that rolls well on all surfaces. I push the two full size cases and DW pushes the two roller boards.
  3. Last cruise was close! When I put my large suitcase on the scale at the airport it came in at 49.6 LBS. LOL. I told DW that all souvenirs were going in her suitcase.
  4. The only time I have ever booked onboard the Next Cruise agent advised me that the booking was going to the agency I had booked with. I was good with it so there was no problem. However, I think you are right it should be standard procedure for them to advise you that the booking is being handed off to that agency.
  5. Definitely not! I'm a proud over packer. I'd rather have to many clothes than not enough.
  6. If I had to chose between Harmony and Navigator 7 day cruise right now I'd probably choose Navigator. I've been on Navigator 3 times (short 4 day cruises) and I just got off 14 days of Harmony in Dec. I've also been on Adventure and Mariner which are Navigators sisters. Harmony's Grease is a shockingly poor performance. It reminded me of a HS level production. You can't guarantee you will see an Aqua show since that is very weather dependent and I thought Harmony's was rather boring compared to Oasis. The Harmony's ice show, my favorite entertainment onboard, is the least favorite ice show I have seen. Navigator is either #1 or #2 It's hard to say. Now that Royal has stopped with the tribute band acts on oasis and quantum ships, which was the best musical entertainment onboard, the musical entertainment onboard is a draw. MDR is a draw. Windjammer is a draw. Specialty dining edge goes to Harmony and quiet relaxation edge goes to Harmony with its Central Park. As far as fun stuff to do onboard with teenagers, the waterslides on Navigator are better. Lazer tag in Studio B on Navigator is great and not available on Harmony. The zip line on Harmony is something they will do once or twice. So that is 90 seconds of entertainment. The gigantic purple slide is something they will do a couple of times as well. So not something that provides a tonne of entertainment. The one upside for Harmony is two flowriders so they may get a little more time on the wave. Over all I give Navigator an edge. I've done Roatan, Cozumel and Costa Maya enough so for me the Mexican Riviera holds more appeal since I haven't been there yet. That may or may not be a factor for you. I also can drive to LA port. I've tried to be unbiased but I know that bias clouds every review. I have all my cruises booked through 2025 (see my signature below). All I'm waiting for now is one for the fall of 2025. It'll be Navigator (or possibly a different ship if rumors are true) out of LA for a 7 nighter when they are release the third week of Feb.
  7. Is the sauna complementary? Also, is sex segregated or coed? My wife won't want to sit in a sauna with a bunch of men?
  8. An amazing amount of criticism for a ship that nobody has sailed on yet! 🙂
  9. DD and SIL saw it in LA when it was on tour a year or so ago... They raved about it. I have wanted to see it for quite some time. Where better to see it than in NYC where all began. I saw Les Mis in London.
  10. There is no show tonight according to the Wicked website. That being said, I'll probably end up buying my tix in advance to make sure I get what I want. I have a long way to go they aren't even selling tix for the two days I'll be in NYC
  11. When I go in Sept I'm planning on going to see Wicked. Should I just wait until I'm there and buy these discount tickets your are talking about or should I pre-buy to make sure I get tickets. What is the probability that they would be sold out on a Tuesday or Wednesday nigh?
  12. They certainly enforced the no kids policy on Harmony in December. The ship was jammed with kids but the Solarium was great!
  13. I think the waterslides on Navigator are better than Harmony. Harmony's are slow and boring.
  14. I considered that one when we booked because I would have preferred the southern itinerary to the one we are on but for a reason that escapes me now ended up choosing this one. It's to bad, I would have enjoyed meeting you. 🙂
  15. Absolutely not! I wore a tuxedo on harmony in December. While I was in the minority there were many other passengers who dressed up. I love it when folks dress for formal nights.
  16. It's almost as if you are reading my mind
  17. the DBP includes anything and everything you can order at Cafe latte-tudes
  18. So the next cruise is Adventure. Our first stop is Labadee. We have been there once before but this experience will be different so I'm looking for a little advice. On our previous trip to Labadee we were on a fairly full Oasis ship but we had a Cabana. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. It was a Landmark anniversary cruise I pulled out the stops all week long. This time on Adventure I have nothing booked yet. This is going to be a full ship it looks like but it is Adventure instead of Oasis. How full is Labadee going to feel and how is it going to be getting a lounger with some shade somewhere when I'm not one of the early ones off the ship. I like to have a leisurely breakfast in the morning so I'd probably not be getting off the ship until 10am. Should I break down and get the beach bed at $380? The Cabana's are off the table, they are just over $1000 a day. They have these beach loungers for two for sale. Should I get one of these or am I just wasting money and will easily find something similar without spending any extra money.
