  1. Hey, I say do whatever makes you comfortable but the genesis of this discussion, at least for me, was that paper boarding passes were easier and faster. Now that the argument has shifted to "I'm comfortable with tech but I want to use paper". I'd say I'm finished with it. The bottom line is be prepared with whatever tech you choose to use. Be it with Steve Job's invention or Johannes Gutenberg's. Don't be that person at the head of the line fumbling about for stuff you know you are supposed to have ready.
  2. Thanks for sharing... 🙂 Hilarious story. You should have said something. People like that need to be embarrassed at every opportunity.
  3. Thanks, I have friends that keep insisting we cruise on Princess with them. I've booked a couple but ended up cancelling each one because of schedule changes in my work. I've got them signed up for Liberty of the Seas doing a 9 night Canada/NE cruise. Hopefully they are converted.
  4. As are many paper users. The reality is life is going paperless. The sooner those who are uncomfortable with tech get comfortable the better.
  5. Opening the wallet on an iPhone is literally two clicks of the power button. I promise you I can do it faster than you can open a book.
  6. Some people will have their Set sail pass, their receipts for every excursion they purchased on the cruise planner, the recipe for their drink package. printed maps of the ports of call. On top of that, possibly their flight itineraries, a list of dining times for their UDP, a spread sheet of events they want to go to onboard. There truly is no end to the amount of extraneous things people will print out prior to a trip. I trust my tech. I has never failed me.
  7. Ditto... I couldn't be easier. The worst is those paper folks rummaging through their purse of carryon trying to find some rumpled piece of paper.
  8. We could start a pool... What's the over/under for next week?
  9. I'm enjoying following along Jane... I hope your next week is great fun!
  10. That is what I thought but I thought to ask just for the OP's clarification on how much they are on the hook for. Thanks Ken
  11. Then this is an issue with your TA. If they required full payment a week prior but then continued to tell you that you could cancel right up to midnight of the final payment date they gave bad information. First, they should have advised you that cutoff was 5pm as it is clearly spelled out on the contract they would have forwarded to you. Second, when communicating with you about cancellation and how late you could cancel they should have known and informed you that they must cancel it and what hours they would be available to do that. They failed you on every account. Sadly, you had a negligent TA or giving them the benefit of the doubt, you misunderstood what they told you. Either way it is now too late. If you cancel now you are in the 25% penalty phase. If you truly can't go, I would instruct your TA to cancel immediately before you get to the 50% penalty phase. Any further delay is only going to cost you more money. Since I have never cancelled for a refund inside the penalty phase I don't know exactly how they handle all things at this point. Perhaps Ken @Ourusualbeach has info... is the penalty only 25% of the fare minus taxes and fees or is it 25% off of the final "out the door" invoice price. I would assume 25% of the fare... but you know what they say about assuming.
  12. The line underneath also eliminates ambiguity. The balance due must be paid in full by the final payment date listed above to prevent your booking from cancelling. Balance and payments may not reflect recent transactions made within the past 48 hours.
  13. Final payment due is the cutoff for for refund/cancellation. He underlined in red the 5pm EST. That is it.
  14. It is not hidden in fine print, It is right on your cruise contract... @Ourusualbeach included a screen shot 6 posts back.
  15. Oh wow at that savings it is an absolute no brainer. Great decision, congratulations... You'll love your CLS, we sure did. Here is a little video I did of our CLS on Oasis back in March.
  16. Thanks, we're onboard with a 14 year old and while I'm sure she is acquainted with everything that will be presented, I'd prefer it handled a little more delicately than in the original movie.
  17. Thanks for this, we board Harmony in December for the first time and I'm really looking forward to the shows. Question about grease... How "family friendly" did you find it?
  18. If the 2B GS is cheaper that might really be a better option. I love YouTube for this sort of thing.
  19. What is the price difference between the 2b GS, OS and the CLS
