  1. Totally agree with @styles27 HC rooms are HUGE, as are the balconies. You take that and the other is for the family with the teens. But to answer your first question, no, you had the option to review the cabin choices at the time of booking with your TA. If you didn't understand the deck plan you could have asked for assistance at that time. In fact, he/she probably shouldn't have booked a HC cabin that far out as it technically should have been for HC use only. (These cabins do open up for general sailing about 60 days out if not already booked)
  2. Nope, I've seen them rise. As folks have bids accepted the algorithm raises the next starting bids. Kind of a "you better bid now" or the price might go up thing!
  3. Just be aware that if you book a cabin that CAN hold 3 or 4 pax and you are only 2, you have a higher chance of being bumped if that cabin is needed later. MSC does move cabins even if you select them. The cruiseline's goal is revenue maximization. Mo people, Mo money.
  4. Absolutely go to Bruges - it's GORGEOUS!!
  5. The lifeguards? But you can try the Lagoon; that's where the ship's kayaking excursions go. Otherwise the lifeguard patrols on jet skis are MANIACS and zoom around the island 10000 miles an hour causing big wakes .... (be forewarned)
  6. A LOT of things can happen in the morning from coming to port late, not clearing customs, medical issues, etc. Also, the route to MCO can get clogged up - if there's an accident you can be done for. Not reason to try to risk a 10:30 flight if there is one at noon. As others have said the weekend TSA lines at MCO can be easily over an hour to get through.
  7. They will most likely be showing in the British Pub, but you won't be able to watch from your stateroom.
  8. I've brought snorkel gear as well as pool noodles with no problem (though the port security made me open my suitcase to look at the pool noodle 🙂 Can't speak to blow up paddleboards.
  9. This is the pre-purchased price and is discounted. If you book onboard it is higher AND the gratuity is added. The math doesn't quite work out to 40% savings, but, yes.
  10. It's a commission, not a kickback.
  11. Suggest that the next time you see a cruise you are interested in you can find a TA who will put it on hold for 24 hours giving you time to think about it. Otherwise you can't get "yesterday's" fare. However, MSC has promos coming and going literally every day. Just wait a few days.
  12. I wouldn't assume that; MSC Is notorious for messing up OBC
  13. I can say that I do enjoy the Butcher's Cut on the Meraviglia. If you pre-purchase or if you are redeeming a Diamond Level "free" meal you are limited to the dining experience menu. This includes appetizer (1), main and a vegatable or potato and dessert. We enjoyed the filet and found it cooked to order (mid rare). If you pre-book and get a multi- restaurant package it's really inexpensive compared to eating out on land.
  14. Just bring your own with you. Problem solved. The issue might be trying to find that (or any other med) when the ship's stores are closed or after hours. A late night visit to the medical center will cost you BIG BIG BIG dollars. It's always important (IMO) to have your own first aid kit when you cruise. To note, we've added 4 covid tests to ours now, "just in case." I'd rather self diagnose first should something happen.

    Wristbands?

The Yacht Club still has them; we call them "tracker jackers" and refuse to wear them 🙂
  16. We don’t consistently get the pre boarding email so my (small) list includes notes of a food allergy. (I don’t want to come back to a surprise treat that I’m allergic to!) Then indicates requested bottle of booze, newspaper and pillow choice. It also lists a standing order of camomile tea at night. That’s all.
  17. Chances are good since the comped cruises are generally for 2 passengers. You should be able to add him for tax/fees. Good luck!
  18. Yes, but they MUST be properly attired!!! 🙂 It's very hard to find someone in a tux actually applauding something (bwhwhahahahah)
  19. Huh? Not so. MAYBE the cabin with the hospital worker but not all sailings will have the Healthcare Heroes discount.
  20. Some insurances don't ask about pre-existing conditions.
  21. Agree - I'd also recommend checking the FARES from the origination city as they can vary on the same sailing based on occupancy. On an upcoming Grandiosa it would have been more expensive to board in Rome than BCN. In addition, there were no YIN cabins available from Rome but there was from BCN a few days before. I can't even imagine the background logistics of these cruises as I am more accustomed to getting on for a Caribbean and being "stuck with" 🙂 the same folks for 7 days which has go to make it easier for everyone! (Plus it allows me to people watch - oh, there's the pajama family, here's bloody mary man, etc..)
  22. Butler was incorrect, unfortunately. Thus the billing headache.
  23. Yes in specialty restaurants but you might be hard pressed to find a drink under $9 there, yes in sports bar, NO in Venchi.
