  1. Good morning from a sunny 54°F NE England. Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for being a star and hosting the daily reports for the last few months. Decency is something we all should show to each other. I will give today's food and drink a miss. Interesting quote from Churchill. Unfortunately no matter how hard we try to do nice things for others some people usually out of jealousy are always going to dislike or hate you. Dogs are a faithful companion but read this and thought it sad this can happen to dogs in a shelter. Best wishes everyone. Hope y'all have a great day.
  2. Lovely photo Sandi. It was mother's day on March 12th here in the UK.
  3. My cholesterol was 3.5 and because I was on high blood pressure tablets my doctor considered me a coronary risk and prescribed statins. I refused because I had heard about muscle pain and doctors get paid to get people onto statins. I then had a mild heart attack and was given a high dose Atorvastatin which brought my cholesterol down to 2.5. A year after my heart attack I asked if I could try another statin and on my records the nurse said Oh I see you have had simvastatin previously which I hadn't???? I am now on a low dose rosuvastatin. Personally in hindsight I wished I had taken the statins earlier even though my cholesterol was low as it would have prevented my heart attack imo.
  4. A friend on RCL forums posted this which some of us mentioned in response to Rich about wondering what day it was. They do this with every lift at midnight.
  5. We have been on Oasis, Harmony X3 and Allure and used BOGO in 150 Central Park. On Oasis in January we had the 7 night unlimited Dining package and went to 150 Central Park after boarding and booked the 7 nights for 150 X2 Giovanni's X4 and Chops grill. In the unlimited package we had 1 free lunch in Chops Grill which made it great value.
  6. Thank you Sandi for your photos and feedback of this port.
  7. Good morning from a partly sunny 54°F here in NE England. Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisers who has faithfully kept the daily reports going while Rich has been on his world cruise. I do not like Hummus. I Feel sorry for mothers who had to give their babies away. Nice food and wine today. Prayers 🙏 for improvement for all on the care list. I hope everyone has a lovely day.
  8. We took Pauline's late mam on several cruises in her 80s and also on her 90th birthday. We got travel insurance for her but it was single trip only.
  9. If you have no medical issues travel insurance is quite reasonably priced. After my heart attack the insurer we had annual travel insurance with for 10 years cancelled our policy immediately when we informed them of my heart attack. We then had to source specialist medical cover travel insurance.
  10. We have been cruising for 20 years and always had an annual policy which included cruising. Price rose quite a bit when I was put on HBP tablets. After my heart attack 3 years ago the price rose significantly.
  11. We have been cruising for 20 years and had annual cover travel insurance including cruise. We are currently with All clear. Have you tried them to see if they not do an annual for you as they are supposed to be a speciality medical insurance?.
  12. Normal travel insurance does not cover cruising. There are various cruise cover options as add ons. The main one being plenty of liability cover if you need to be airlifted from a ship in an emergency.
  13. It sounds like a very interesting condo complex Lenny. I hope you are both well and looking forward to the weekend.
  14. I have osteoarthritis. When I rang to say I had steroid injections in my knee they said it was okay because I have declared arthritis.
  15. Nice photos Lenda. Pre 1974 Turkish invasion Kyrenia and Famagusta in the North of Cyprus were the main resorts. My Junior school Head mistress travelled here and showed us on a screen all of the photo slides. I was about 9 at the time and it got me interested in wanting to travel and see foreign countries. Cyprus is lovely and most of the hotels are low rise buildings.
