  1. Hi all - we’re going on a cruise that ends in Vancouver and our flight isn’t until the evening. What’s the best option or company to store and take our bags to the airport? Does Princess have a service? How much does someone like this usually cost per bag? We will be flying JetBlue if it matters. Thanks!
  2. Hi all, Has anyone had success at getting upgraded with the minimum bid? I imagine that’s difficult on popular sailings but am wondering if there may be a chance for a minimal upgrade (ie oceanview to spacious oceanview or balcony) by bidding the minimum for a 3 night sailing. Thanks.
  3. Hi all, Given the different prices on different cruises hideaway beach is going for, I’m wondering a more detailed review of what’s included other than different food and music. They advertise both a dj and live music. Are there different areas within hideaway beach for both live music and a dj? Is it the dj and reggae band from one of the ships that are docked? Is the dj any different than the one at the main pool? How much of the day is there a live band? We would love if there was live reggae music most of the day, something we used to love at the private islands. What kind of elevated food do they have? Cococay has a bunch of good options to begin with - not just burgers but ribs, salads, tacos, etc. Is there seafood? Shrimp and lobster? Are there any drinks included compared to the main beaches? Would love to hear about anyone’s experience there over the last week. Thank you.
  4. Apologies, I meant the tribute bands rccl used to have at music hall on oasis and anthem class ships. I wonder if a different tribute type band will remain on the Icon. Does anyone know if a rotations will remain after phoenix?
  5. Hi All, It looks like Icon is back to having a specialty cover band for the cruise playing sometimes in Music Hall. This used to be done on Oasis and Anthem class ships as well, and then they went away with this and had the house band play in Music hall. Given phoenix listed as the special cover band on Icon for the current cruise, I’m wondering if each cruise will have a featured cover band musical act or if this is only being done for the first few cruises. Thanks.
  6. Hi all, For an upcoming cruise, I want to continue paying on a card I already started making payments. Another card is offering me $170 back for a $700 payment or more with Princess (any payment direct with Princess, whether a booking, excursions or anything else - as long as done in one transaction). Excursions have already been booked. 1 - Is there a way for me to buy refundable OBC for $750? If so, how can I do this? 2 - How does it work if someone has some refundable and some non-refundable OBC? If I wind up with leftover OBC, will the nonrefundable OBC be used first so I can get back any unused refundable OBC? For example, if I have $200 in OBC ($100 refundable/$100 non-refundable) and only have $100 of onboard expenses, would the $100 non-refundable be used first so I could request back the $100 refundable OBC? Thank you very much.
  7. Hi all, I’m wondering if the Liberty of the seas has yet to be amplified, does that mean there are still steam rooms and saunas for free in each the men’s and women’s locker rooms? Still love the ships that have the free steam rooms left. Thanks.
  8. Also, a few speciality dining questions if anyone happens to come across the answer. Hope everyone currently aboard is having an amazing cruise. I’m wondering - are there fewer options for speciality dining than on the wonder? Also of the speciality dining, are there fewer restaurants where the dining package would work without an extra fee? Wonder had mason jar wonderland 150 central park izumi hooked chops giovanis icon seems to have izumi hooked chops giovanis -extra and limited space - celebration table -extra and very limited space - empire supper club Is there no 150 Central Park on icon? Besides chops and Giovani's, are there other nice upper end restaurants that would be included in a dining package (we usually do chops, 150 Central Park plus wonderland or Giovani's on wonder for dining package nicer dinners and then mason jar and hooked for casual lunches). Thanks!
  9. Hi - a few questions on entertainment It looks like there are 3 headlines. It seems that the second production show and second aqua show are not yet listed. Does anyone know when those two shows are expected to go live? Once the last two shows are added, does anyone know if there will still be one headliner show per cruise, instead of the current 3? Does anyone know what the liars club is listed under comedy club? Does anyone know if the comedians will do a second full audience late night show in the theater on the final night, like is done on the Wonder? For music hall - does anyone know if royal is bringing back the cover bands like they used to have on the anthem and some other ships? On those ships the house band now seems to play in music hall. Given phoenix listed, I’m wondering if each cruise will have a featured cover band musical act or if this is only being done for the first few cruises. Thanks!
  10. Thanks. Just to confirm, if we realize we want a refund before the end of the year can we request cash refunds via check or credit card refund for each of us at any time? Is this definitely fully refundable at any time for money back for the deposit and not just for a future princess credit?
  11. Hi all, Does anyone know if the crab shack is still a restaurant within the buffet on the grand princess during Alaska sailings? If this is still a thing, does anyone have experience going here? Is the seafood served here fresh from Alaska and similar to what we would get by going to a local restaurant at a port of call? Is the seafood here fresh from Alaska and higher quality compared to what’s served in the dining room and other venues onboard? We love seafood and are looking to try as much fresh authentic Alaskan seafood as possible while going on our first ever trip and cruise to Alaska. Thank you. Crab Shack Crab Shack is a "pop-up" restaurant that is housed on select evenings in a cordoned-off area of the buffet on Alaska cruises only. The Crab Shack serves a vast array of seafood specialties in a casual and nondescript atmosphere. The cost for Crab Shack is $30 USD per person, and additional pots of crab are $10. View the Crab Shack menu here.
  12. Hi all, Are both of these speciality dining restaurants worth the extra price on a grand princess Alaska sailing? would we be missing out on Alaska sourced fresh seafood in the main dining room by going to these two restaurants that we could go to with the same menu on other princess ships? also is it true that crown grill only allows for one app and entree per person, or could we each order a few apps? As for main dining room menu - is anyone able to confirm if the menus are different from non Alaskan itineraries and if Princess brings on fresh Alaskan salmon and seafood? Thank you very much.
  13. Hope everyone on the Icon has an amazing trip. One question if anyone happens to explore speciality dining. 14. Thanks. Dining package aside, aren’t there significantly fewer formal dining speciality restaurants on icon compared to wonder celebration table is only for 12 and is the same as chefs table 150 Central Park similar to empire supper but icon version is more elaborate and expensive Wonder has wonderland, mason jar and 150 Central Park for nice but reasonably priced dinner options. Am I missing anything that icon has for a nice sit down formal dinner (not the casual spots that were also on icon such as hooked which is great but n more of a casual speciality restaurant).
  15. Hi all - I can’t wait to try all that icon had to offer. Thanks.
  16. Thanks for clarifying this. If I pay for all family members’ fcd on my one card, if we choose at a later time not to go ahead with the cruise or a different cruise, I assume I’d get the credit card refund for each person to the original method of payment for the $100 each?
  17. Hi all - I am debating doing a Princess-offered whale watching tour (boat size 48 max) + a salmon bake after vs an 8 person tour with Harv and Marvs. Does anyone have any experience with both of these? Is it significantly better to do a more intimate tour with a company and on a boat such as with Harv and Marv? Thanks!
  18. Hi All, Does anyone know if there's a difference between the below Princess offered tour vs what seems to be the same on the vendor's website? Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour vs Princess-offered Tour: Local Connections: Deadliest Catch Crab Fishermen's Tour Created By Captain David Lethin Fans of the Discovery Channel TV series, "Deadliest Catch," will recognize the Aleutian Ballad! It was made famous in season two and is your portal to adventure on this intriguing, 3-hour Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour. Perfect for the whole family, you'll see what life is like on an authentic Bering Sea fishing boat as you set off in the calm, protected waters. Relax in the heated and sheltered outdoor amphitheatre as your crew hauls up 700 lb. crab pots and long lines from the depths, revealing massive king crabs and other marine life such as octopus, prawns and various other fish species. The amazing sea creatures are gently placed into an on-deck aquarium for you to view, snap photos and even get hands-on with the catch! A stop near Annette Island may offer up close sightings of bald eagles, seals, sea lions, whales and native Alaska fishermen at work. Does anyone know -Are these tours identical? -Does this company have more than one ship? Or is there one ship that is mixed with cruise passengers and those who book direct with the vendor. -The vendor price with tax is $235pp. Princess has a sale that offers the tour for $255pp. Is there any advantage to spending extra and booking this tour (if identical) with Princess for an extra $20pp? Thanks so much.

  20. Hi All, For anyone who has done an Alaskan Princess cruise, does anyone have a recommendation on the below tour Thanks so much. Whale Watching & Alaska Salmon Bake Join the collective chorus of "Oohs!" and "Aahs!" on your action-packed whale-watching cruise. Some 65 humpback and orca whales return each season to feed in the nutrient-rich waters near Juneau, so whale sightings are guaranteed. In fact, if a whale is not spotted during your cruise you'll receive a $100 refund ($50 for children). Take it all in from the open deck or the large windows in the observation salon. Then transfer to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake for an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring wild Alaska salmon grilled over an alder wood fire. Roast marshmallows, visit the Salmon Creek Trading Post and see the Salmon Creek waterfall and old mine artifacts. A convenient shuttle service departs for the pier every 15 to 20 minutes, so you can return to your ship at your leisure. You'll strike the mother lode of adventure on this easy, full-day tour showcasing the best of picturesque Juneau! vs Harv and Marvs wahle watching?

  22. Appreciate all the info. Very helpful. We are looking to do a 18-21 day cruise, so definitely would love to give a $100 refundable deposit per person for $150 in OBC. Just want to be sure that if we had to cancel that cruise that it is 100% refundable. We will make sure the cruise/rate we pick is for a refundable deposit rate. Thanks so much.
  23. Thanks so much. If I book a cruise with a put down a fcd while onboard, it seems each of us would get the applicable current obc. If we had to cancel and not go ahead with the deposited cruise, is the 100 pp fully refundable at any time, or would we have to wait a year to get the refund? If the fcd went unused and was refunded within or after the year, would princess rescind the obv that was given for the past cruise, or would that remain having already been used?
  24. Hi, if my family while onboard books a future cruise deposit for a 17 plus night cruise in a suite, would we each get a 150 obc? Would we need to book a specific 17 night or longer cruise? Also, is it only refundable if not actually booked and used after a year, or do we have the option to cancel at any time for a refund if we realize we’d rather take another cruise with a different cruise line during that timeframe? If we book a cruise and put down the future cruise deposit and were to cancel, are there any caveats to be able to get the full deposit refunded? Thank you.
  25. Hi all - we are very excited for our first ever cruise to Alaska. We range in age from 30-70. I've been doing a lot of research on ports and in particular Junuau on these boards. I don't see anything that clearly stands out. Is whale watching really worth it? Is there anything else better there? If whale watching is worthwhile, we are debating between Harv and Marv's and Jayleen's. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, Harv and Marv's would end at 3:15 with the boat departing at 4pm. They do guarantee our arrival and say that they have never had an issue, but is this indeed safe to do? Thanks!
