  1. Hi all, For ships that have starlink surf and stream - does anyone know if this is fast ending for video calls, in addition to streaming shows on Netflix and YouTube tv? Thanks!
  2. Hi all, Does anyone know what selection of entertainment is on a short 3 night cruise on the allure of the seas? I would love for a first time cruiser to be able to see mamma mia, in addition to the diving show and ice show. Does anyone know if these are all offered? Are there also comedy shows on the short cruises? Thank you.
  3. Hi all, Whenever Royal Caribbean has an Amex offer, it always appears in my account. I’ve seen some articles that an Amex offer came out last week for 25,000 points for spending $1500 but this hasn’t appeared in my account? Does anyone know why this offer wouldn’t be appearing if it always does for me whenever Royal Caribbean has an Amex offer?
  4. Hi all - if someone reaches diamond status mid cruise, would the benefits kick in halfway through the cruise, for the full cruise or after the cruise? Thanks so much.
  5. Thanks so much. I would never remove or reduce gratuities as I don't want it to reflect poorly on the staff and they deserve every dollar. FYI though - RCL is able to manually apply grats at the original rate for anyone booked prior to 11/10 - just has to be called in by phone.
  6. Hi All, I called Royal Caribbean last week to add pre-paid gratuities to our reservation before prices go up. I was told that my travel agent needs to be the one to add it. I advised them that my agent was out until today. Both the representative and her manager assured me that as long as the sailing is booked prior to 11/11, the original rates will be honored for prepaid gratuities on or after this day. The new rate would go into effect for sailings on or after 11/11. I was assured not to worry and to go back Monday for my travel agent to add without there being an issue for the original rates, since my sailing was booked prior to the mentioned date. My travel agent just tried adding them and it is at the higher rate. Two different Royal Caribbean agents assured us not to worry and that the old rates would be honored beyond 11/10 for sailings booked. What should I do since we tried to have these added and relied on the RCL-provided info? Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know if RCL monitors calls. This isn't about the $2 pp/day, but rather principal of the complete incorrect and relied on info. Thanks so much.
  7. Hi all - were trying to decide what nights to do speciality restaurants on the wonder. The app has thee standard menu nights loaded which I know sometimes switch. Also we are going to be on a holiday sailing and are wondering what the menus will be on the non holiday nights. We’d like to see what’s offered on the non holiday nights to see what we’d be ok with missing to plan accordingly. Does anyone know when the actual menus are uploaded and confirmed? Is it in advance if sailings or on boarding day? Also does anyone know when the cruise compasses and activities are uploaded? Right now the daily schedules just reflect shows.
  8. Hi all- has anyone gone to hooked for lunch on the wonder? It looks like a much more limited menu with mains being more sandwich oriented such as lobster rolls or clam sandwich. Wondering if it’s a good experience and worth it. Thanks.
  9. Hi, Does anyone have info on what bands and types of live music are currently aboard wonder. Is there a country band, in addition to the house band and reggae band? Does the country band only play at mason jar? Is there the Latin band at Boleros? Are there any cover bands at music hall (ie - Beatles)? Is there a jazz band in central park? Are there the usual dips and piano players? Thanks!
  10. Hi All - is it at all possible for only 1 of 2 people in a cabin to get Princess Plus? Or is it required for both to add? Thank you.
  11. Thanks so much. Appreciate everyone's responses and advice.
  12. Thanks. The hold for the cruise + land is just 24 hours max, no extension. If I put down a refundable deposit, would that cancel out my booked cruise-only reservation? Or can I keep both for 1-2 weeks until figured out? For clarity, 2 separate Princess representatives told us we can book the cruise only and add on a pre-cruise land tour at a later time. We later learned this was very incorrect information. We are incredibly frustrated with Princess agents and customer service who are located in other countries and have provided multiple pieces of significant incorrect info, this being the most costly to us. In addition, there is over an hour hold to speak to someone or for extensive holds to get answers (which have been incorrect answers), with many of their call centers having poor connections with disconnected calls and no callbacks. They also are very reluctant to connect us to a manager, when we are in need to speak with someone regarding these issues and to get correct answers.
  13. Any chance anyone has any information on this? Thanks so much.
  14. Hi All, We were misinformed by Princess about the option to be able to add on a land tour to a cruise for Alaska. We had booked cruise only, and since then, prices for the cruise have doubled. Prices for the land + cruise have also doubled from what they originally would have been. We typically would never ask or do this, but we want to take a week to figure out whether we want to go the cheap cruise route and do land on our own vs the significantly high cruise + land tour. To buy us a week - if deposits are refundable, can we have a booking for the cruise only, with a separate booking for the cruise + land tour? I imagine these technically are for different "sailings" since they are coded different for the cruise vs cruise + land whereas a double booking for the same sailing typically may result in an error or auto cancel? Again, we typically would never do this, but given the misinformation by Princess, we may want to try and secure the cruise + land for just a week while we figure everything out without risk of rates going up even further. Thanks!
  15. Hi, we are sailing on the wonder and leaning towards 150 Central Park, chops and wonderland for our 3 speciality dinners. what is everyone’s thoughts on the above vs hooked for dinner? If we were to go to hooked for lunch, could we order lobster as an off the menu item? Or is a whole lobster only available at dinner? Is hooked just as good for lunch as it is for dinner? Thank you.
  16. Thanks. On that note - is there a cover band (beatles, led zepplin, etc.) in music hall like there is on the Anthem (in addition to the house band performing)? Or does this ship only have production shows and house bands - no fly on acts (cover bands, magician, etc)? This would be surprising given that the Wonder is the newest and largest ship.
  17. Hi, We are looking forward to the variety of shows, comedy and live music on the Wonder of the Seas. We are surprised to see that it seems like there are 3 shows + the ice show and diving show. Does this mean there are no fly on acts such as a magician, ventriloquist, etc? The variety act is sometimes nice to see mixed in. How are the 3 production shows, given that none of them are a Broadway show? Thank you.
  18. Hi all - we purchased a 3 night dining package for the Wonder holiday sailing. Are we able to book restaurant reservations in advance, or would we need to wait until we board the ship? Thanks so much.
  19. Hi all, For previous RCCL cruises, I've been able to purchase the drink package for about $60-$65/day. For an upcoming holiday cruise on the Wonder of the Seas, the drink package has not gone below $84.99/day + gratuity. The other person in the cabin does not drink but would have to buy the refreshment package at $27.99/day + gratuity. This would come to $933 for 7 nights. For a 7 night cruise, this would come to an average of 62 drinks over the cruise to just break even at $15 a drink average with gratuity, or 8.8 drinks a day. This is the first cruise in awhile in which I am likely not going to purchase the drink package as it just doesn't seem worth it anymore. Does anyone know if RCCL offers the 10 drink card punch card which would average out to about $10/drink based on prices I've seen? Or is this only on certain cruises in which bar revenue is below average? I may bring on 1 bottle of wine per person if we do not go the drink package route. Thanks!
  20. Thanks! Hope you have an amazing vacation. The food and entertainment options seem top notch. There also seems to be a good variety of live music. Hope you enjoy everything.
  21. Hi - does anyone know if the wonder of the seas has the freestyle soda machines for seltzer or flavored soda? If yes, where are these located? Do they work by room key, or would I have to have and carry around the royal caribbean soda souvenir mug to use the machine! Thank you.
  22. Thank you, this is all very helpful. I will take a look at the 3 options -Princess hotel and transfer -Princess transfer own hotel -Non Princess transfer own hotel
  23. Thanks! The person at princess didn’t have info on a pre cruise transfer. Trying to figure out if -a night in anchorage makes sense with a Princess transfer the morning of to Whittier -a night in anchorage makes sense with a non-Princess transfer the morning of to Whittier -a non Princess transfer to Whittier the day or night prior and a one night stay in Whittier Thanks!
  24. Hi all - does anyone know how to book a Princess transfer the morning of a cruise from Anchorage to Whittier? Does anyone know what this costs per person and if it’s worth booking through Princess? I’m not seeing it as an add on option. Thanks!
  25. Apologies for the duplicate posts but they are all regarding different topics, many posts of which others seem to find pretty helpful and also have confusion on. This one in particular relates to insight/experience and confusion with non-cruise PrincessLodges rail tours and how that compares to (similar/different from Princess-cruise add on land tours). There are significant price differences, with the land-tour for the cruise seeming to be a similar experience but a $6,000 difference. Others have related to and have helped us get to this point by discussing -Princess cruise-sponsored land tours -Princess Alaska shore excursions -Princess vs non Princess Alaska options -Experiences in Alaska with or without Princess -Alaska advise and insight Apologies if the posts appear to be duplicates, really appreciate everyone's help with all of this and insight.
