  1. Hi all, Does anyone know if princess cruises have the same dining menus across the fleet? For Alaska sailings, does Princess bring in fresh salmon and seafood from Alaska and feature it on the dining room dinner menus and at the buffet? We may not do an atrial salmon bake in port but are hoping for some authentic Alaskan seafood. Thank you.
  2. That’s unfortunate. He’s a very subpar act that I feel like goes from ship to ship and many have seen too many times. If tap factory isn’t a broadway show, would why have rcl lost the license? Tap factory was awesome. Hopefully they replace it with another amazing show or better headline acts.
  3. Hi all - planning our first ever trip to Alaska. Does anyone know if there a really good whale watching tour in Juneau coupled with a good salmon bake? I’ve seen Harv and Marv is good for a whale watching tour but wondering if there’s a good combined tour or one with an add on option?
  4. Thanks so much. Does anyone know if there a really good whale watching tour in Juneau coupled with a good salmon bake?

  6. Hi all, We are going to do a Princess Alaska cruise and do not see any princess excursions that stand out. Has anyone done any princess vs non princess tours in Juneau? Has anyone done the Harv and Marv whale watching tour? If so, how does it compare to the Princess offered whale watching tours and other non Princess tours in Alaska? Are there any Princess or non Princess tours in Juneau that are the most highly acclaimed and rated? Thanks!

  8. Hi all - aside from rcl’s broadway shows, tap factory was up there in uniqueness. We loved it, in addition to voices. We really didn’t enjoy effectors as it was a show for kids without a good storyline. It seems rcl lost the license for tap factory which is unfortunate. Does anyone know what will replace this awesome show?
  9. Thanks so much. Any idea how the entertainment compares on the two ships? I'd imagine different shows from when we sailed 20 years ago on the Grand.
  10. Hi all - we are debating between a pre-cruise Alaska land tour for 3-4 nights vs a similar tour but that is the Connoisseur version (McKinley and Denali). If pricing isn't too much more, is the Connoisseur much more worth it? I know it includes most meals and a guide. Is there anything else that makes this version and type of tour worthwhile? Thanks so much.
  11. Hi all - we sailed on the Grand Princess 20 years ago, but are considering it, in addition to the Sapphire, for an Alaskan cruise. Does anyone know what the difference is in entertainment on the ship? I'd hope the shows have changed in 20 years. Is there a similar amount of live music, and are the fly on acts and production shows similar or both good? Thanks so much.
  12. Hi all - if we are unsure of what category cabin we may want and how much we’ll be able to spend, is there a rule about reserving two cabins for the same people on the same sailing would it be ok to book two refundable deposit rooms on the same sailing if we are willing to lay out a refundable deposit for each? Would this cause one of the reservations to auto cancel, or would that not happen until final payment? (This would only be for a month or two max) Thanks so much.
  13. Booked directly through the cruise line, was only a few dollars more than booking direct. From what I’ve read, it’s supposed to be an awesome tour.
  14. Hi All, We are planning our first ever trip to Alaska and are going with a pre-cruise Denali land tour + 7 night Southbound cruise on the Sapphire Princess. So far, we have booked: -Denali Tundra Tour -Skagway Yukon Expedition & White Pass Scenic Railway -Ketchikan Local Connections: Deadliest Catch Crab Fishermen's Tour Created by Captain David Lethin We don't see anything that currently sticks our for Juneau. We would love to see some Alaskan culture (whether that's in town, at a local restaurant, a salmon hatchery and bake) but are also open to memorable worthwhile tours. Does anyone have any tour recommendations or to do's in Juneau? We are a family of 4 (late 60s and early 30s). A few we have been eyeing but are not yet sold on are: Mendenhall Glacier, Salmon Hatchery & Salmon Bake Local Connections: Whale Watching & Wildlife Quest Created By The Allen Family Mendenhall Glacier & Whale Quest Whale Watching & Alaska Salmon Bake We are open to booking through Princess, but are also open to a non-Princess tour if there anything that stands out. We'd appreciate any tour recommendations, in addition to anything to check out in town pre or post tour. Thank you very much.

  16. Hi all - does anyone have any info or insight on this? Thanks so much!
  17. Hi all, I am going on a 3 night cruise on the Liberty of the seas and have a few dining related questions. I am contemplating which night we may like the main dining room menu least to do chops on. -On a given ship, is the menu selection and rotation the same for each 3 or 4 night sailing of the same itinerary? Or do they switch up the order and/or which menus are to be used on every 3 night sailing of a given itinerary? Is it safe to go off of the same 3 night sailing menus/order for the current liberty of the seas sailing that’s the same 3 night itinerary? -same question but for other ships in the same regions. Do all 3 night, 4 night, 5 night, etc. sailings in the same region have the same menu in the same order each night of the particular sailing (ie - night 2 on. 3 night sailing is always the caribbean or Italian menu)? Or are they different menus (of the standard 8-9 options out there) on every ship and sailing in random orders (aside from welcome aboard and bon voyage, and excluding holiday sailings)? Thank you.
  18. Hi all, I’m very excited about the icon of the seas launch. One thing that was surprising is the total occupancy vs crew compared to other ships. Icon holds a max of 7600 guests with 2350 crew. Wonder holds 7100 guests max with 2300 crew. It seems surprising that 500 guests only result in an additional 50 crew members. Does anyone think this could be an issue? Thanks!
  19. Didn’t realize it’s only around $60 more for expedited. Someone had told us it would be hundreds more. Trying to find the best and quickest way through a local usps. Thanks!
  20. Hi all, I would appreciate any insight into a couple admin related rcl item. A family member is having her passport renewed for a short weekend cruise from fl to the Bahamas (Nassau and cococay). Does she need to pay to have it expedited, or is a birth certificate (from the United States) ok? Is there any risk with a birth certificate only? Another family member is unsure about time off from work. If this person needs to end up working the week of, can we replace him with another family member? (same last name, and the other person in the cabin would be remaining thin same) Thank you very much.
  21. Hi all, we have been debating what long weekend cruise to take to celebrate a family member’s 86th birthday this spring. we really wanted allure for Central Park, in addition to all the live music, mama mia and the diving show. the price has significantly gone up for just a 3 night cruise. Between the price and traveling from south Florida to cape Canaveral, we are now leaning towards the Liberty from Miami. has anyone been on the Liberty lately? How is the live music, and how are the two shows - Saturday night fever and the ice show? Is this still a good ship for a few hundred dollars less than the same allure 3 night sailing? A family member is concerned that this is an even older ship than the Allure. Curious how peoples experiences have been for anyone who has recently sailed on the Liberty of the seas or both the Liberty of the sSea as and allure of the seas. Thanks!
  22. I am not a troll. I love cruising, as does my family. We give well above and beyond cash tips in gratuities and gave significantly more than the $2/pp increase to the staff who helped us and went above and beyond. We always tip extra at speciality restaurants and to housekeeping as well. All I was trying to do is see if or why the crew can’t get basic access to free wifi like all crew do on NCL, Virgin and other lines. I am not trying to make other peoples salary my business. I appreciate how much the crew sacrifice and go above and beyond while away from their families to make our vacations so special. I didn’t think it would be so conteaversial to bring up the idea of them getting a few hours of wifi a week without having to pay 3.99 an hour. I apologize for bringing up this thought and idea. I am sorry for suggesting this and trying to help them out without an impact to guests. I hope everyone has a happy new year.
  23. Lol. Us privileged people have the ability to walk down the street for free internet at a coffee shop. They don’t have the ability to walk down the block for free internet to make a call. We can pay for our own bills sure, they may not be so fortunate to the their $50-$100 a month cruise line “salaries” who are hanging them $3.99 an hour ability to communicate with folks back home. My gosh. My boycotting the cruise industry will not change the world. Us cruisers being compassionate and empathetic and maybe even collectively petitioning or raising our concerns to cruise line executives may.
  24. Didn’t think it was that absurd to suggest rc, the company that makes over 1 billion a year in NET profit, to carve out less than .01% of its net profit to give the few the ability to call/video call their family. Without the crew and their sacrifices, and without rcl paying them the $50-$100 a month they pay them (plus our gratuities), rcl wouldn’t be making the billion dollars a year in net revenue they do. It isn’t as if rcl doesn’t have e technology and capabilities on their ships and needs to make a significant investment. I truly am appalled at the backlash of stating how much the crew sacrifice for so little and being upset rcl can’t do more for them to keep in touch with their families.
