“Last minute” bookings and airfare risks
DaveFr replied to Clutj's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
You can wait to deviate but if you do so, the chance of getting a better flight is extremely slim. Dave -
You can do both. Including your friends in your reservation will count as their one permitted online reservation in the restaurant you are reserving. Dave

Any reason to book next cruise onboard?
DaveFr replied to casperthecat's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
There is a potential gotcha to deferring the $200 OBC to the cruise you are booking. Recently we booked a cruise on board and deferred the OBC. Later, Regent had a promotion for the cruise we booked on board and the $200 OBC was invalid because of the promotion. Since the promotion reduced our fare by $2000, giving up the OBC was a no-brainer. I have decided that, in the future whenever it’s feasible, I will take the OBC immediately and will not defer it. I just checked and it appears that the October 3 cruise now has 146 suites available. Assuming the website I checked is accurate, that would mean 315 suites are occupied less any suites that Explora is not selling. So at two passengers per suite, that would mean the cruise has 630 passengers. The count is probably a little lower due to solo passengers. Dave

Well, I waited to get some more experience

The article may be very recent but the interview took place on Sep 23, 2021. With that date, comments about Crystal and Genting make sense. Dave -
I agree completely. IMHO, too many people judge wine with their eyes by reading the label, the price tag and the wine reviews. I remember a cartoon a number of years ago showing a customer telling his wine merchant that he thought a wine was terrible. The wine merchant replies that a famous reviewer gave the wine a score of 95. The customer then says that he wants to buy several cases of the wine. Dave

Regent Flights - with and without deviation
DaveFr replied to Travelcat2's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Don’t you want to ask about experiences with Lufthansa since that’s the airline that will be operating your flight? How long is the connection time in Frankfurt? Personally, I wouldn’t book a flight through Frankfurt that has less than a three hour connection. Good luck. Dave -
Is there a Regent Casinos Players Club?
DaveFr replied to GMIAC's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Kathy, just go to Reception/Purser to request the cash. Regent calls this a cash advance but it is not like a credit card cash advance which begins accruing interest immediately. The amount you take out is added to your account balance just like other purchases on the ship. After your cruise ends, Regent bills your credit card company a single amount as though you made one purchase. There is no fee to get the cash from the Purser. A couple of things to be aware of. The $400 cash will not offset any non-refundable shipboard credit you might have and there may be a limit on how much cash you can get per day. If that is the case, a couple could just take the cash on two consecutive days. Dave -

Was the onboard credit you mentioned above nonrefundable credit? If so, I stand corrected. I learn something new every day. 😊 Dave -

If you don’t have a line of credit and get cash from the casino, the amount you get goes on your ship board account plus a 3% fee. Casino purchases, such as entry to the blackjack tournament and cash from the casino, appear on your shipboard account and will not offset non-refundable credit. There are a couple of other things you can do to get cash available on the ship. First, each passenger is entitled to get $400 cash from the purser for each cruise. Second, you can use the gift order form found at the bottom of the Regent website to send yourself cash. When you send yourself cash, it is placed on your account as refundable credit, and there is no additional fee to take out the cash although there may be a daily limit on how much you can get. Dave -
Flight Information no Longer Showing in my Account
DaveFr replied to pappy1022's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
A couple of weeks before a cruise, Regent sends a “Final Cruise Vacation Summary“ for each passenger. The summary shows all excursions booked among other things. The summary goes to my TA who forwards it to me. If you book directly with Regent, I imagine they would send the summary directly to you. Have you received such a summary before your cruises? Dave -
Here’s a link to the wine lists I posted from the Splendor a little over a year ago. (WINE LISTS) Aalthough there have been some changes to them, they should give you a pretty good idea of the wine lists today. Dave

You’d pay twice the per person rate shown on the website minus any credits you might have. Dave

Whipsnade, we are planning on bringing a few bottles of wine on our October Explora cruise. I’d appreciate it if, at your convenience, you could please check to see if Explora charges a corkage fee to bring a bottle of wine to a dining room. Thanks. Dave

It looks like the third or fourth passenger in a suite do not get included business class air. Dave
-
Since you’re embarking in Miami, you can decline the included hotel night and receive a discount of $150 per person. Dave
-
You get the benefit once per cruise. If you use Regent air, the benefit will save a couple $350 per cruise. It includes the $75 fee to speak to the air desk. Dave

Marc, don’t forget section one of the Member Guide which covers Society Membership, and provides in part: “Seven Seas Society® Membership is automatically awarded on completion of your first voyage with Regent Seven Seas Cruises®. First-time guests sailing 21 nights or more receive instant recognition at the Silver level. For all other Seven Seas Society® members, if the number of nights you are sailing during your cruise elevates you to the next tier of rewards, enjoy instant recognition at the higher tier from the moment you board. Nights are otherwise awarded to members following the completion of each voyage.” (Emphasis added.) So, if the number of nights on a cruise elevates a passenger to a higher tier, he or she gets the on-ship benefits of the higher tier from the beginning of the cruise. Otherwise, since cruise nights from the current cruise won’t affect member benefits on that cruise, section one says nights are allocated at the end of the cruise. Actually, I’ve found that once a cruise gets underway, the number of nights for the cruise is added to my account instead of Regent waiting until the end of the cruise. Dave

Not much. You’ll get an additional six hours of satellite phone time. Also, if you purchase Regent Choice, excursions, hotels or land programs while on the ship, you’ll get a 10% discount. On subsequent cruises, you’ll get one free custom air service per person and leather(?) luggage tags with your documents. Dave

Regent Flights - with and without deviation
DaveFr replied to Travelcat2's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
My experience adding Regent air to a existing reservation last week may be helpful. In March 2022, I booked the Grandeur from New York to Barcelona in April 2024. At the time I booked, the total air credit was $1200 pp which I took in full. $150 pp of the air credit was for the domestic flight to New York; $1050 pp was for the international flight from Barcelona. The gross total fare for two, after applying the air credit, was $18,198. Last week I decided to use Regent air for the return from Barcelona. My invoice now shows an air credit of $150 pp. The gross fare total has now been been increased by $2100 to $20,298. So the charge for air was $1050 pp. Thus, I was not charged more for air then the air credit as it existed in March 2022. I checked the current air credit for the cruise and it is now $1380 pp. $215 pp for the domestic flight and $1165 pp for the international flight. If I had been charged for air based on the current air credit, the gross fare total for two would have been $20,398 instead of $20,298. Hope this helps. Dave -
I believe it’s Grand Suites, Master Suites, and the Regent Suite. Dave

I wondered about that since the US office is not open on Sundays either. Perhaps both offices are just not open to the public on those days, but are still operational for cruise business. Hopefully Mike will clarify. Dave
