  1. Believe me, you can wear basic outfits many times over, toiletries and med bag a must, walking shoes and exercise clothes a must for me, but only one outfit, rinse out and hang in bathroom if necessary. Use your walking shoes for excursions, save your 2 pairs of sandals for onboard dinners. black slacks, one dress, 3 fancy tops and 4 daytime tops, plus two pair of shorts will do you fine. Been on 25 at least cruises. If you are not flying, go for bringing alot of clothes but if flying only take one carry on roller board and a back pack. Always bring them onboard the Ship, no worries about luggage getting delays or lost, even at the Port. Know you are thinking I am nuts, but wearing the same outfits multiple times will save you stress packing, and no one will ever remember if you wore the same thing 9 nights. Be kind to yourself and under pack, Oh yes underwear a must, but doesn't take up too much room, and easily washable in the shower. Really understand your dilemma, been there many times, have a packing list now, for all the items like chargers, sunglasses, make up, etc, just check them off as I put them in the bag. good luck and enjoy vacation.
  2. Great you enjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I am spoiled from days past.
  3. In yester years cruising was the ultimate experience, imo. The overall experience was one to be pampered, eat very well and back then it was pay as you drink experience. remember coming off with a healthy balance due to indulging. Yes I know it is two decades later and we still cruise. The Haven does meet the expectations of the past, but must say if not able to indulge in that luxury, the todays Ships are like coach in an airplane. Are Diamond on NCL, love the Haven experience, but like most other accommodations even land wise, cutbacks are here to stay. We tip, but do not feel it is our responsibility to supplement the crew wages, tipping is for services that go the extra mile.
  4. On our last cruise a month ago from San Pedro on the Bliss, no one was checking check in times. if you have an early check in time show up with your daughter, I truly don't think there will a problem. check in times are trying to control crowding at the Pier. But situations differ. We actually prefer check in time about 1130, it seems like passengers by then are moving instead of sitting and sitting or standing in the terminal. Just my opinion
  5. Prices started out I think about $118.00 minus tip for 4. We were 4 old fogies doing a maybe last hoorah trip and splurged for the fancy ride to San Pedro. $$$ but nice ride. When you google executive car service, several come up, the one we used and very helpful for questions I had is 800 878 1995
  6. This was from years ago, now it seems you have to cancel and then rebook to a get a reduction. At that time you called, asked for the lower price, you got it, no rebooking involved. Realize times have changed. All done with a call to NCL direct. This was maybe 4 years ago. But dating myself many years ago I could call multiple times and got a lower amount each time a cruise dropped in price, no rebooking, would just get a revised statement with the lower price before final payment. Times have changed for sure. It was a no hassle about rebooking and losing the room you wanted not available.
  7. Used executivecarservice last Month for pick up outside baggage claim to San Pedro. Excellent service, legitimate company
  8. Have had no problem with getting a price reduction before final payment, but the last time I did, it was with the Caveat, this is a onetime reduction! If you accept it, any further price reductions that come along will not be honored. Have no idea if that still holds true. this was a cruise booked over a year in advance.
  9. So sad service is so declining. Back in the good old days all cabins had an ice bucket filled twice a day, lol. am dating myself
  10. FYI, our recent experience , NCL flights are the cheapest and worse available, never again. But we are older and willing to pay for our own flights with the times best suited for us. check your on own prices before trying to get NCL flights. Just my opinion
  11. great news that the amount to declare has gone up, lol. don't think this will be a situation we encounter but good to know, thanks
  12. Just did Bliss cruise, Spa Balcony, no coffee maker in room. Room Attendant upon request provided coffee maker with lots of coffee pods at our request and bathrobes at our request. Travelling with a group of friends, great time, but we sooo missed the Haven, lol, no more non Haven for us
  13. Just off the Bliss, our group having a discussion about winning in the Casino, lol. no one did. But Question, if a big win like poster, outside of the US in international waters , do you need to declare this on your US Income Tax return. Know in US casinos if you win over $600 or so, they make you fill out a form right there and do turn it into IRS. On the Ship, (original poster) did you sign any US tax documents when you won big time? Know this is not about declaring money coming off the Ship, but just a wondering??
  14. Our reservations for the 6 of us are all separate reservations. . 4 of us booked at same time and got the same flights but told no guarantee we would be on same flights. We ended up on same flights, The other 2, booked too late for the air program, booked their own, much better flights, did cost them about $350 pp, but their cruise fare was about that less in cost than the 4 of us on the "crappy flights" so go figure
  15. Same reservation number, Same flight I was told in January 2023. But travelling with friends, even asked to have reservations linked, NO guarantee. We have flight for cruise in 2 weeks through NCL, NEVER again. the worse possible flight times from PDX to LAX flying in a day before. Probably would have cost $200 more to do it on our own and pick reasonable times. Live and learn
  16. Read somewhere online here, that you could book comedy shows day 1 once onboard. If anyone knows where the "booking desk" is at please chime in. We are a group of 6. this time not in Haven so no access to concierge😒. Not referring to the ones that hopefully will be in the Main Theatre, but the actual "comedy Club" which has limited seating.
  17. In the US our flights booked through NCL, we are given the flight information and then contact the airline assigned to reserve seats and confirm flights. At that point the airline is our contact not NCL. I would suggest contacting the airline. direct.
  18. Try Executive Car Service, google it, may have name wrong. But number I have written down is 800-878-1995. We plan to use them in March for our group
  19. The SOLAS information regarding safety drills states " including mustering at the lifeboat stations." I remember in the "olden days" yes that is where we went, haven't had that experience in many years. Now in a restaurant, theatre or atrium??? so do not think SOLAS requirements are being followed??
  20. I carry on what I do not want to loose. too many fliers distributed to rooms day 2 of cruise asking if you have seen this piece of luggage. Cannot imagine why someone would keep luggage in their cabin if not theirs. but these notices have happened many times. We drop off carry on luggage in our cabin once onboard. although rooms are not being announced as ready, you can find your cabin drop luggage off and go about the rest of the afternoon.
  21. We have flights on SW, tried online to get early bird check in, got reject message. Called them direct, no problem. so, try Calling American for any changes, good luck.
  22. If anyone thinks NCL will help you out at the airport if your flight gets cancelled, ?? First off getting anyone to pick up call, then rescheduling? hmm, . Much better chances dealing with the airline direct, is my humble opinion. NCL does not in any way guarantee if using their flight service that you will get to the Ship if cancellations come up.!!
  23. We have an M9 #15806 booked on the Bliss In March. We booked what was referred to as a Spa Balcony Suite?? You said you had to ask the room Steward for a coffee Maker? thought they were included?? did your room come with robes and slippers? I know small details, but appreciate any answer.
  24. Last two cruises did virtual muster drill. Watched the video every time I got a reminder, sure it wasn't necessary but just wanted to make sure we were doing right. Have been on over 20 cruises on NCL, the in-person muster drill, shoulder to shoulder with people CROWDED, standing room only, is quite the way to start a cruise while Covid still present. We will as always follow the rules, our next cruise is March, we will get to muster station early, so hopefully will get a seat and have masks on!
