  1. We have been in several Cove Balconies without any ‘salt’ issues. Most recently we were on the Celebration in a Cove on Deck 5 and absolutely enjoyed the location, made everything on ship easily accessible, were able to quickly orientate ourselves to the ship. Actually we enjoyed the “cove” location on the Celebration so much we booked an Oceanview on same ship, same deck, because coves were all booked. Just another aspect of the Cove Balcony.
  2. Our Side2Sides have been with Carnival (one Carnival ship to another, same port) and with Carnival and MSC (got off MSC ship and trudged two piers down to Carnival ship). Quite easy to coordinate Carnival and MSC dates especially out of Miami.
  3. In the morning you pack your belongings (I take a couple $1.00 TJM bags to make life easier) and your room guy will eventually move everything for you from current cabin to new cabin. We always make sure they are aware we are B2B. We have found that once we are back on ship after mandatory walk onto American soil (in the terminal - ha) we can go to our new cabin and all is good.
  4. Typically ships go over and stay a few months then return.
  5. Perhaps they never use the word “repositioning.” For instance, we are cruising from Rome to Tampa in October and our confirmation refers to it as a Transatlantic.”
  6. On Carnival website when you search for a cruise, repositioning are usually listed under “duration,” more than 12 days, etc.
  7. I see you are from Central Florida, we are on Gulf Side. We now cruise between MSC and Carnival and almost always book MSC with “easy plus.” We find it much easier to use than Carnival’s beverage package. It can also be used at Ocean Cay which is great.
  8. I do my own research, decide on a cruise I like, then search for one before or after. We have done B2Bs on same ship (we don’t care if same cabin or not, if a different cabin the move is really easy and to us it feels like we are starting fresh again) and we have done Side to Sides (same port different ship) which is fun also. As I said I do all my research (that’s fun for me) and then call PVP to book.
  9. Not in the “venchi” shop (my spelling might be off) but everywhere else, bartenders quite agreeable to what you might request.
  10. We ate in Steakhouse a few cruises ago, sailing out of Miami, and tax was added to our meal cost. If I remember correctly it was an early reservation and sail away was late, so got hit with tax. We almost always eat in Steakhouse Day of Embarkation and this was first time we experienced this, timing was cause. No big deal but was surprised.
  11. To summarize, i would suggest sending in request and taking proof on board.
  12. Take your shareholder proof with you, go to guest services on board, they will send off to be processed.
  13. Ocean Cay is lovely, we have been there several times, booked March 31, 2024 as it offers an overnight at Ocean Cay, so we made it just under the wire. It is so very convenient to be able to simply walk off and onto the ship however often you want. Not sure what enhancements they are planning to do. If you were there today you wouldn’t really see anything that needed to be done. Set up is great, food trucks convenient, buffet nice, beverage package works.
  14. Interesting, ty. Have two Yacht Club Cabins booked for March 31 and glad all appears to be good. (Several posts ago someone suggested the March 31 seven night had an itinerary change and was becoming an 11 night.) I see you are from Canada, turning an 11 night into a 14 night for you is nice, hope that works for you, long trip and all.
  15. You must be seeing something I cannot see. On the mscusa site there are no cruises showing up on Seashore for April 7. But our March 31 is still there with no changes.
  16. Okay puzzled - we are booked on Seashore out of Port Canaveral for seven nights - itinerary we booked has first two days with an overnight at Ocean Cay - have not received any kind of communication from MSC yet - someone on this thread said that March 31, 2024 is now an 11 night cruise. Is that true? Do we know for sure? If we agree to this suggested change is MSC saying we will get 11 nights on March 31 for price we booked for the seven for? (When I search cruises for March/April 2024 no changes have been made yet, our original seven night is still being offered.)
  17. We have and have never had it taken away. Didn’t try to hide it, went through scanner. And off we went. Have never tried at embarkation as we are aware that it is not allowed.
  18. I read your posts when Saint Greg was “cruising” by the site. I located the book at a library in the area and asked that I be able to pick it up at the library I frequent. It just became available today. It says “Copyright 1955 by Walter Lord.” Someone has written in ink “1998?” above the Copyright date. Why would someone do that?
  19. I picked this book up at the library today, crazy timing!
  20. End of May I booked a February 2025 cruise, not Europe/Med.
  21. Missing your daily shenanigans, hope your trip was as much fun for you as you made it for us. Curious about your thoughts on the “sea” days.
  22. Apparently read/viewed a post just in time, whew, good for me!
  23. Saint Greg’s Lives will do that to you. I ended up booking the Venezia when it comes to Port Canaveral. There should be some sort of “Reader Beware Warning” prior to reading.
