@ninjacat123can never resist reading what is new on this (your) thread , people keep it going, love seeing the “joy” on your face in the pics you post, Merry Christmas to you as well, perhaps someday our paths will cross again.
Found it, says TD and 5:15.
I called Royal two days ago when I realized the late dining options available for MTD and was put on Waitlist, worked, thank you to all who helped.
Well this is interesting, couple days ago started this post after it appeared I could make reservations on the App for My Time Dining, sort of annoyed as it appeared all of the earlier times already booked, so I booked 730/745 times, not my favorite but oh well. Just now I received separate emails for each of those reservations saying they were cancelled and when I go to the App it now says I need to make reservations once on board. Yikes, what’s with that?
Well, live and learn for me!
Upcoming cruise Sunday, four days out, first Royal cruise in a long time.
Chose (or were given it as reservation was made so long ago I forget) My Time Dining. What I did not know was that you can go on the App and reserve your dining time early, I discovered this today. As a result what is now left are times later than 7:30/7:45, too late for us. I suppose we will be experiencing the Buffet for dinner more often than not.
We sailed on the Armonia two times while still in America years ago, enjoyed the ship and experience and would cruise on her again. Actually had another cruise booked on her as she was being moved to Tampa but then the shutdown hit. Have been on several other MSC ships and the Armonia does not have the “glam” of those ships. Armonia is definitely an “old” ship experience, if that’s what you are looking for. We never had any issues on her, great crew, service, etc.
It’s been a very long time since cruising Royal. I checked us in, got email confirmation, and got the Guest Ticket Booklet which I printed out. Booklet does not have anything that appears to be a “boarding pass” to me. Is there such a thing or is Passport all that is needed at Port?
Enjoy this “relaxation” cruise. (I still maintain no one could have kept up with you two most recently in Italy/Greece during your land and sea days.) And an upgrade now - yahoo.
A Library is more than just a quiet place. The post you quoted - I was tying to point out that they converted a small square footage space that someone must have decided was underutilized into a gift shop while at the same time there are several much larger spaces on a ship that are only used a few hours a day if that.
I never realized the Pride library was once where the arcade now is, i remember it being where the “gift shop” now is, it was a really enjoyable space that was often in use. It provided a service 24 hours a day - books and games and game tables and comfy chairs.
Talking about “space” on a ship, as I have been thinking about this, for instance one example, on the Pride the NightClub is huge and is used for maybe 3 hours a couple times a week - there is a lot of space on a ship that is underutilized- yet still sitting there.
Somewhat similar to the song “they paved paradise and put up a parking lot,” it appears we are now “losing libraries and putting in gift shops!”
Just off 25 nights on the Pride, library lost and gift shop in its place. But to give credit where credit is due, they did have two shelves deck 3 aft against a wall that had some books.
I realize the new class ships do not have libraries - I did ask on Celebration about one as I thought perhaps I had missed it, Guest Services said there was not one but brought out a carton from the office in the back that had books guests had left behind - so when on Mardi Gras after Celebration I asked about any books they might have from past guests and the young lady looked at me as if I had a third eye- just sharing my experience!
So not certain, but it does seem when a ship goes into dry dock (Pride just came out of dry dock in May) the library may be lost to a gift shop!
Bethany, now I need to get caught up on your “live,” so nice to meet you, just off ship this morning and home now as we only live an hour south or Tampa, we were also on for the 15 day TA, all went well, but home feels good.
@ninjacat123have to tell you, you two take the best selfies ever! Glad you are having such a wonderful time, am enjoying your pre-cruise trip. Currently sitting in EWK awaiting flight to FCO, then shuttle to the Pride. See you there!
