  1. Some of the attractions have weight limits for safety reasons. For example, if someone exceeds the weight limit of the zipline, the line could break, cause injuries (or worse!), and a whole bunch of lawsuits. That's why for these attractions they do weigh you.
  2. 1.) Yes, there's 7 free beaches 2.) Yes 3.) Yes, those are usually reserved for Cabana, Suite, and loyalty members. Everything else with the exception of the water park is free 4.) Yes, mostly free with a few exceptions. A map is provided with all the venues that are an extra charge
  3. We told my niece she's coming with us Liberty next year. She's beside herself with excitement! We're heading to Labadee, Bermuda, St. Martin, and Puerto Rico......none of which she's been to! She's already challenged me to a race on the waterslides!
  4. I'm not sure, I'm an Android gal who happened to hear of it on YouTube this morning.
  5. Hello all, I recently heard that you can get your boarding pass on Apple Wallet. Can you do this on GPay or Google Wallet?
  6. We travel with my niece all the time and never had an issue with pre-packaged foods, provided they weren't open. Same goes for drinks. Side note, as someone mentioned earlier, there's a form you'll need to have notarized prior to Embarkation Day, giving her permission to travel with you. They do check this, along with other documents, so please pack it in your carry-on and not your checked luggage. You can get the form on Celebrity's website or your TA (assuming you used one). You would only need this form of the parents aren't coming.
  7. I read multiple reports of this over the weekend, the initial one being that cruises were banned altogether and then a couple articles retracting the statement, saying that the cruise terminal is simply being moved.
  8. It depends. I've been on The North Star twice on Anthem and there was a charge for SEA DAYS but not PORT DAYS. @MelRandom, you can reserve the ones for SEA DAYS on the app before your cruise at any time or you can reserve them on the ship. For the PORT DAYS, reservations open up the night before your arrival. There's a $25 late fee if you miss the appointment.
  9. This is not new, nor is it limited to Royal. I took my niece on 3 cruises, two of which were on Royal and one on Norwegian and in all 3 cases we needed a notarized form to take her with us. Our TA was able to advise us on this as well as provide the form.
  10. I was on The Perfect Storm waterslides with my niece on Oasis and honestly the wait wasn't very long.
  11. She's my niece, but I see and text her so often she's like a daughter to me.
  12. I know, but I also know you have multiple tried to get them all right
  13. Done and submitted but I knew most of them, having already been 6 or 7 times with Royal.
  14. Does anyone have a copy of the menu they can post? I'm soon-to-be Elite and would love to see what they have to offer. I'll be on the Summit in October and Solstice next Fall. During one of those cruises, I should be leveling up, I just don't remember which one.
  15. Alright all, I need the collective wisdom of all Liberty cruisers! I'm thinking of booking this ship next year and my 11 year old niece will be coming with me. I've seen half of the original movie of "Saturday Night Fever", the musical that's playing on the Liberty. From what I've heard, there's an intense scene in the second half of the movie, but it's not critical to the storyline. You bet I'll be watching the entire movie before we go (I own the movie). My question is, is the version on the ship a family-friendly version or should we have her skip it? I really think she would enjoy the story and all the music (she LOVES anything upbeat), I just question the content in Act 2. My niece would be fine with the music, and Auntie will teach her all the songs (I have the soundtrack).
  16. As someone who has cruised BOTH lines (Celebrity about 8 times, Carnival 3 times), I can say for sure I've seen it go BOTH ways: I've seen Carnival cruisers snub Celebrity and I've seen Celebrity/Royal cruisers snub Carnival. I choose not to participate in those discussions.
  17. 1.) From what I gather you have the choice of eating either in Blu or the MDR 2.) From what I remember, there is a wine listing at each restaurant, but I'll be going on Celebrity for the first time in 6 years, so things may have changed.
  18. Yes, however, it's not mandatory to do it in the app. They will, however, take your picture at the terminal if you don't, so it's one less thing to worry about if you do it during the online check-in. I'm usually in charge of taking everyone's mug shots for my family.
  19. Passport is really all you would need. They already have your booking information. You'll basically be answering questions, such as the Healthcare Screening and your requested Arrival Time at the terminal (please note, this will NOT be the time your cabin will be ready or even when you'll be allowed on the ship, this is simply the time you'll arrive at the terminal). You'll be asked to upload your passport information and take your boarding photo as well, this will help the Embarkation process run smoothly at all ports. The information you provide will be given to the authorities at the port to assist with the Customs process. You don't have to do the entire check-in process in one sitting, you can come back later and finish it if needed. I usually get the Arrival Time first and then go back and do the rest later.
  20. I've cruised all 3 lines, most recently with Royal. Carnival was about 5 years ago, and Celebrity about 4 years ago. If you like Royal, most likely, you'll like Celebrity. They're owned by the same company, and Celebrity, in my opinion is more upscale and subdued than Royal. Carnival is more or less hit or miss. I've been on 3 of their ships with a 4th one booked. I hated Carnival Holiday (yes, I know, I'm dating myself here) because to me, it felt like a floating Las Vegas and there wasn't a lot for us kids to do other than ice cream parties (I love ice cream, so don't get me wrong I love ice cream parties but not everyday). When I went on the Triumph years later, things started to look up as they seemed to be getting their act together as a company. We loved it! We decided to book on the Pride years later, only to find that things seemed to have gone downhill on everything again for Carnival. I'm hopeful that things will be better for my Venezia cruise next year. Royal and Celebrity both have their act together and the service is pretty much consistent across both lines. I haven't had a bad experience with either line, and the staff was incredible on both lines.
  21. Welcome aboard! It's funny you should be posting this thread now, I'm watching YouTube and came across this video that might be useful for beginners. Although it's for Royal Caribbean, many of the tips can be applied to other cruise lines.
