  1. Thanks! We decided to book. We have a TA that we've been working with for years who is very honest with his experiences on ships. Last year he took his family on The Connie on this itinerary and loved it. He even advised doing the Roatan zipline tour. We've been on all her sister ships and loved them so much we went on one of them twice...The Celebrity Summit. I just got off The Summit and her remodel was stunning, so if The Connie's remodel is anything like that, we're in for a treat. Our TA did say that The Connie has a loyal following, I'm hoping that I'll be one of her followers too. My family is full of cruisers and if we like a ship, we'll go again and do things we didn't get to the first time around. Classic examples in our family include The Grandeur (4x), Anthem (2x), and The Summit (2x).
  2. I read it several places, here is just one example: Reddit I personally have never had a problem bringing rechargeable batteries on a cruise, but that was 10-20 years ago. Nowadays, I bring cameras and such that use cables to recharge.
  3. According to the Royal Caribbean FAQs, it looks like you can bring batteries onboard. However, I have read elsewhere (no idea if it's true or not) that they have to be lithium ion and you can only bring 2 in your carry-on. You may want to ask Royal directly to be sure.
  4. I actually did hear from them. They just need to verify her height onboard and then she can be added to the reservation.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving! Gave myself a few early birthday presents: 1.) Booked The Connie (Celebrity) for 2025, visiting 5 ports, 2 of which I haven't been to......New Orleans and Roatan. The other 3 are Tampa, Cozumel, and Costa Maya. 2.) Booked Dragons Breath Zipline for Labadee in 2024 3.) Booked the Alpine Coaster also for Labadee in 2024
  6. So my Mom and I purchased the Alpine Coaster for Labadee and my niece (under 12) wants to join us. On the site, it won't let me choose her as a guest. While it says on the site that the driver can't be under the age of 12 (we get it and are not fighting it), it only says that the passenger needs to be over the age of 5 (which she is). I fully intend to purchase her ticket, so that's not an issue either. Am I allowed to add her to the reservation and how would I do that (call, wait until we board, email, etc.)?
  7. Just make sure you're not under the cafe. I saw a YouTube of someone on Deck 9 of the Summit (sister ship) and there was CONSTANT noise from the cafe.
  8. Thank you so much, I just checked my cruise planner to see if I purchased the right one (thank God I did!). I did have the right one purchased. As a fairly new rider, I want to have a few more Ziplines under my belt before I try "Superman Style"! Thank you also to @Ravensfan1973 for answering my camera question!
  9. I've done it 3 times. You ride all 3 lines, and it takes about an hour. You're criss-crossing the entire island. There's a short safety video to watch, and you will be weighed (but your weight isn't shared) to determine which zip to put you on. You travel in groups of two and you're watched the entire time by 2 staff members: one at the beginning of each line (who will hook you up) and one at the end (who will unhook you). Cameras are allowed, provided they can be secured to your person. Close-toed shoes are required for safety reasons. I did a YouTube Video of all 3 lines heading down the zipline, but only shared best 2 lines I got. It was my first time using my GoPro, so it may not be the best quality, but it will give you an idea of what it's like. I wasn't aware where the harness was going to fall, so you'll see the harness in the shots.
  10. I was just about to ask the same thing. I want to do the seated one (no way am I doing the "Superman" one!). I do have a GoPro, complete with a chest strap, so I assume that's allowed? It's already been tried and tested on the Cocoa Cay zipline, and it worked great, so I'm hoping that kind of mount is allowed on this one. Also, I assume we can choose which style zipline we want to ride ("Superman" vs seated)?
  11. I was on the Summit last month, loved the decor, but haven't even seen pictures of the Constellation.
  12. Hi all, I'm looking at a cruise for 2025 on the Constellation. I love the itinerary: Costa Maya, Tampa, Roatan, and New Orleans. I'm looking for feedback from recent cruisers on the ship. This will be my 33rd cruise, so I'm by no means a first timer. I've been on the Summit, her sister ship, twice and loved it. I'm looking for feedback specifically for the Constellation. Any advice?
  13. @Crestawave Here's my channel if you want to check it out. I don't have any Viking specific tips, but several of the ones covered can be applied to multiple lines.
  14. I just got off Celebrity and got the Zero Proof package (not sure what it's called on RC). You need to tell the server you want a virgin version of the drinks. Here's what I tried: Raspberry Fizz: hated it, tasted like cough syrup Yellowbird: loved it, orange and pineapple juice Peach Sunrise: am dying to have this again! Pina Colada: Pina Colada mix, milk, and ice cream....had quite a few of these! Strawberry Daiquiri: have these every chance I get! Cuba Libre: Diet Coke
  15. Same cruise and we were always told if the specials.
  16. I was on the same sailing, they had ballroom classes in the Sky Lounge
  17. In Aruba we took a bus and catamaran tour. The bus was from 1992 (we asked, and it was a school bus) and needs an upgrade. Sound system was terrible. In Curacao we did a bus tour that stopped at a rum distillery and Mambo Beach, we loved it! Tour guide was great and we got to go over the Queen Juliana bridge...if you're afraid of heights, don't look down...that's the highest bridge in the Caribbean.
  18. 1.) Yes, but reservations don't open until that day and there's a $25 fee if you miss it. 2.) Regarding Zumba, I don't recall, but they do have "Fun Dance Class" everyday. 3.) Joff Eaton was my Cruise Director both times (February 2022 and April 2023). He was great! Pro tip: ask him about his shoe laces.
  19. The ports weren't bad either. I was on the Summit that week doing the same itinerary.
  20. COVID and wars will always be with us. For COVID, don't let the virus control how you live your life. Certainly be cautious about it, but don't let the fear get the best of you. For the wars, nobody can predict the future. If we could, we'd all pick the winning lottery numbers! Do not let the fear of what could happen cheat you out of an otherwise fabulous experience. Be cautious, but not fearful.
  21. I loved reading your review. I was on the same sailing and can say with certainty that my experience was the same.
  22. Actually I do know and I didn't post misinformation.
  23. I do know the answer and I do know why people use VPNs. I'm just reporting what Guest Services told me about using VPNs since I used Starlink recently and had no idea that it wouldn't work with a VPN enabled.
  24. I can't say for Celebrity but one of our family members got COVID 2 days before a cruise when there was mandatory testing. We had no idea until the test came back. We had to cancel per their policy at the time, but we're able to do a Lift And Shift to later in the year.
  25. I actually volunteer for Google. Does your iPhone connect via BT or is it LTE? If it's LTE, it's generally considered a separate device. That said, I was told by Guest Services to disable any VPNs (since Starlink can't bypass their security) and put my phone in Airplane Mode.
