  1. I NEVER drink alcohol and I get my fair use out of the drinks package. I usually have about 3-4 drinks a day, more once the weather gets warmer. I use mocktails when I'm with those who do drink. If the cruise is only 3-4 days, I don't get the package, but if it's 5+ days, you bet I get the drink package!
  2. I'm an Activity Director for seniors, I watch these lists all the time to find out who's the Activity Staff on my sailing, as I will be watching them like a hawk!
  3. They may still be assigning rooms. You're basically guarantied a cabin category, which means that while they don't know the specific room yet, you'll be assigned a room in the same category. You may not know the room number until you board.
  4. Is it a closed-loop cruise (starting and returning to the same port) or is it a repo cruise (starting in one port and ending in another)? That could make a huge difference, as some ports may only recognize a passport as a valid form of ID.
  5. Good thing I wasn't at the trivia.....I'm an Activity Director who designs her own trivia.....I would have grilled them on that! I always repeat the correct answers and keep the trivia focused on the topic (although if we go off track, as long as we get back on track and have a few laughs on the way, I'm fine with it).
  6. I've actually been to Cocoa Cay about 10 times (both before and after the rebuild). It's one of my favorite places. There's a water park for those that like thrills, as well as a zipline and a Hot Air Balloon. For those that like a more chill day, there's several free private beaches, the world's largest fresh water pool, the world's largest waive pool, and several add-ons such as cabanas. There's a Straw Market for those who like to support local artists. Drink packages work on the island, and there's several complimentary restaurants (some are extra). I personally love the Zipline and Oasis Lagoon, which has a swim-up bar.
  7. With these points, I'll make Elite on my next Celebrity cruise!
  8. Nope, just 2 were on the Summit. The last one was my 31st cruise overall.
  9. Depends, what's your price point? Interior rooms are generally cheaper, but will take longer to accumulate the points. Jr. Suites generally cost more, but take less time to accumulate the points.
  10. It all comes down to manners: 1.) Use earbuds if you must be on a call. Shockingly, when in public, I prefer to use mine when on a call as I can hear the other person better. 2.) Be mindful of your volume, not everyone needs to know your half of the conversation. If you have to step out of the room, go right ahead. 3.) If someone is using the camera to take a picture or video, don't walk in front of them. Go around or wait the 30 seconds. 4.) Don't text and walk: you're not the only person there and you could wind up hurting someone (most likely me).
  11. Nope. They'll take his mug shot at Embarkation though.
  12. Seeing as it will be a relatively new ship, I wouldn't expect prices to go down. That said, keep checking for other ships, as some lines have started to announce their 2025 itineraries.
  13. Just off Celebrity two months ago and there were no masking or testing requirements.
  14. 39 days, Venezia. Time to break out my DOUBLE DIGIT dance!
  15. Same thing happened to me a few months back on the Royal app. It told me that I had to report to my Muster Station about a month before my cruise, while I was at work....I thought I won a free cruise!
  16. Nope, we have 4 in the party and only 2 have the app (myself and Mom). We tag team the check-in and even have a competition to see who can do it faster: Mom and Dad or me and my niece. For the cruise, we use my app mainly, with Mom's as a backup.
  17. When do you sail? I'm a month out and I'm cruising with friends who have a regular balcony, while I have a Cove Balcony. I may be able to answer your question.
  18. Coming from a former introvert that was PAINFULLY shy: the cruise is what you make of it. Be as active and social as you want. Now I'm not shy AT ALL thanks to cruising.
  19. Yes and it really bugs me as I do this for a living: "there's nothing going on on a cruise ship"! It's clearly stated in your activity schedule that you get DAILY in your room (or at Guest Services), mentioned NUMEROUS times over the announcements, posted EVERYWHERE on the ship, is available in your app, or mentioned several times on the ship's TV channel, so to say that nothing is going on is not even remotely true. Now, whether or not it's something YOU'RE interested in is a different story. It's up to YOU to seek out the activity. The staff is already busy, and it's expected that you'll find a way to seek out the groups. They've already provided several avenues for this, find one that works for you and do that.
  20. Hi everyone! I just joined today, my family and I will be joining friends on this cruise to celebrate 2 retirements in the party. My mom, dad, and I are no strangers to cruising: we just finished our 31st cruise on Celebrity Summit. We've done 3 Carnival cruises before (Holiday....yes I know I'm dating myself here.....Triumph, and Pride) and one Costa cruise (Costa Victoria). While we were not fans of either line, we want to try this new venture that Carnival seems to have. We've done our research and Carnival seems to be getting more in-line with what we're looking for in a cruise, and from what we remember of Costa, the food was fantastic. The two things we didn't care for with Costa were the fact that smoking was allowed everywhere on the ship (we're non-smokers, but don't mind smoking being allowed in selected areas) and the fact that for every single announcement on the ship, they did it in 7 languages, with English being the last one (it took well over 20 min. for the English speakers to get the announcement because of this). With that said, we have been assured by our TA (that we've worked with for years) that they no longer do this. Don't get me wrong, we love listening to and learning other languages (mom and I are both bilingual in different languages: French and English for her, American Sign Language and English for me), most of the cruisers spoke English, so announcements were kind of tedious. What attracted us most to this cruise was the itinerary. We've been to the ports before, but not in the last 20 or so years. Amber Cove is our beach day, we loved Grand Turk, Princess Cays is beautiful, we adore San Juan (our favorite holiday was spending Christmas Eve at night there and seeing the entire town all lit up), and NY is my "home away from home". When I'm not cruising or playing my Ukulele, I'm either volunteering with Google (as a Made By Google Product Expert), going to school (currently going through Coursera for certificates in IT Support, Cyber Security, HR Generalist, and Meta Social Media Marketing....and of course I'm not doing all those certificates at the same time), I run the cruise channel, "Cruising With Kristen" on YouTube: here is the link. Fair warning, you may wind up in the video, if you don't want to be in it, let me know and I will find a way to get you out.
  21. It depends on the port and the staff that day how strict they are. Went on Anthem twice, exactly a year apart. First time around they were short-staffed and sent folks to the end of the line if they showed up late and asked early arrivals to wait until their allotted time. A year later, same ship, we had no wait time. Cruised from Boston 2 months ago and arrived on time, but that didn't matter as they weren't properly trained or staffed so we ended up waiting almost an hour to board. Usually the slots are in one-hour increments.
  22. I'm due to make Elite on The Connie in 2025! I'm 32 points away!
  23. Gave myself another early birthday present, which I am also giving my niece for Christmas: I booked myself, her, and my Mom all on the Alpine Coaster in Labadee for our next cruise! Mom and I have been on Alpine Coasters before, my niece hasn't but wants to try it.
