Live from Summit (I'm going to try)
broadwaybaby123 replied to Smellytoes's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Just an FYI if you find yourself liking your cruise, consider joining the Captain's Club, which has free perks (including 4 free drinks daily on your SeaPass once you reach Elite). Since Royal and Celebrity are owned by the same company, you'll get a status match for Royal's Crown and Anchor Society (their Captain's Club). The match will last until you reach Diamond on Royal or Elite on Celebrity. For example, let's say you're Gold on Royal and Select on Celebrity, you'll be given the equivalent tier on Royal, even though you won't be acquiring points on Royal for a Celebrity cruise. You can visit the Captain's Club Ambassador desk or Guest Services to enroll onboard or you can enroll at home. -
Ok, I volunteer for Google, so here's a few things I recommend in general when posting tech questions. These may seem simple to you, but remember, I'm not there so I can't see what's happening. 1.) What's the OS? 2.) Is the firmware updated on the device? 3.) How about the app, is that updated? 4.) Check the device memory, do you have enough space to run the app? 5.) Can he log in on the website? 6.) Is his name spelled correctly on the invoice? 7.) Is his Captain's Club number printed correctly on the invoice? 8.) When he logs in, are his credentials being typed in correctly? 9.) Have you cleared the app cache? How about the app data? 10.) If he's already logged in, has he tried logging out and back in?

Height or age limits for water slides?
broadwaybaby123 replied to Islandattorney's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Defiantly height restrictions and in some cases (like the Tidal Wave on Liberty Of The Seas), weight restrictions (in this case, it's the combined total of both riders). -
Try clearing the app cache. I volunteer for Google, if you have an Android phone you can hold down the app icon, select "About", then "Storage And Cache", followed by "Clear Cache".

This question was already asked and answered earlier today.

I've been sailing on Celebrity since I was 5 and shows never required reservations.

Questions regarding muster and Blu----
broadwaybaby123 replied to Jetswdo's topic in Celebrity Cruises
E-Muster takes 5 min. and is completed in the Celebrity app. It's the same for all passengers. You watch maybe 4 videos, show the crew member at your Muster Station that you did it and they'll either scan your phone to be-bop the completion or highlight your name on a list. You can even do it before setting foot in the terminal. -
What should we do on our first day/ night onboard?
broadwaybaby123 replied to naughtypumpkin's topic in First Time Cruisers
Not sure if Fred Olsen does this, but if they do, DO YOUR E-MUSTER FIRST! It's Maritime Law, takes only 5 min., and the cruise can't depart until EVERYONE does it. -
3 night on Liberty of the Seas
broadwaybaby123 replied to RedJessi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You could always go into the RCI app and check the current sailing offerings for Liberty to get an idea of what's offered. -
I had linked dinner reservations for Royal two years ago. Honestly there was no benefit to linking them.

I have all the paperwork from the maiden sailing of Voyager Of The Seas!

Vision and Enchantment are smaller ships, which might be a plus for the group. My mom and I used to work with autistic children and know that crowds can be overwhelming. Smaller ships won't have as many crowds because they can't hold as many people. That said, since this is your first cruise, you might want to consider taking one of the shorter itineraries to see if you even like the concept of cruising. Not everyone can manage being on a ship for a week without getting nervous (although for those of us experienced cruisers, that's not an issue). That's part of the reason my first cruise was to Bermuda: 2 days down, a day and a half back, and one or two nights in Bermuda.

No, your status makes no difference. You have to get up early on the day that the appointments are open to get the earliest boarding time. On my Oasis sailing, it was 10AM. I signed up for 10:30 as I had my young niece with me and needed extra time to get her ready to leave.

Kids Diamond status via parent status
broadwaybaby123 replied to sportmorgan's topic in Royal Caribbean International
As far as the virgin drinks go, I already looked into this. I'm turning Diamond on my next cruise and even though I'm over 21, I don't drink. I was told I can get mocktails loaded onto my card instead -
Getting Burnt on the Ultimate Abyss
broadwaybaby123 replied to ryanl02's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not on Oasis. I went down it 7 times, my niece went down 17 times, and each of my parents went down it once. We all came back unscathed. I kept my elbows tucked in, and since I'm not exactly short (6ft tall here), I asked for the attendant at the top to give me a shove since I couldn't push myself off. -
I believe it states in your cruise contract what the required documents are, however @jwlane provided information on how to access that section directly on the Celebrity website.

Early Excursion ... how not to miss it?
broadwaybaby123 replied to MA_Serendipity's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If it was booked through Royal, you won't miss it. They call you by groups once you meet at the designated spot for Shore Excursions and the tour won't start until everyone in that same tour group is together with the tour guide. -
Yes, I just completed check-in for our Celebrity cruise and I was able to snap the selfies later and upload them. As long as you can all snag the same boarding time, you're all set and can upload any and all travel docs later. That's provided you're using the app, like I did.

Anthem, Captain announcement at 4.30am
broadwaybaby123 replied to dollydosh's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not at 4:30AM, but yes. One of the occasions was on our first Sea Day and I happen to be in the cabin. You could see them airlift two people by looking out my window! -
How offensive is it to call the ship a boat?
broadwaybaby123 replied to NewCruiser256's topic in First Time Cruisers
For me, it's not so much as "it's offensive" as much as it is context. I'm Dyslexic so I rely on context to understand what the topic is. Ships have always been larger vessels used to travel and transport goods on water, whereas boats are the smaller version. I understand both can be used interchangeably, but there's a huge difference as to what each has to offer so in order for me to keep up with the conversation, I have to know which one you're talking about. -
You can't make these things up!!

I'm not condoning the behavior but comparing the buffet to "American Gladiators" made me laugh a little too hard; -
has statue of liberty been standard on NJ cruises?
broadwaybaby123 replied to luckyinpa's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I've done both. The Statue Of Liberty was taken from the NJ side when I was on Celebrity Summit with my Samsung camera that has a 36x zoom. I was standing at the top of the ship. The Empire State Building is also there. Been on Anthem twice and passed the Teardrop Memorial both times. Both, as you can see, are sights to see, but are entirely dependent on weather and traffic. Without permission from officials to pass, not everyone can take those routes -
Mine is canvas so I can use the expandable pockets.

If you like Celebrity, consider Royal Caribbean. They're sister cruise lines, so if you like one, you'll most likely like the other. There's plenty to choose from for bars: Vintages, Schooner, Rising Tide (Oasis class ships only), Trellis, Playmakers, Lime And Coconut, Boleros, and Bionic Bar just to name a few. Dining includes Jamie's Italian Grille (by Jamie Oliver), Wonderland, Johnny Rockets, IZUMI, Giovanni's Italian Kitchen, Chops Grille, Sorrento's, and Cafe Promenade, are just a few of the restaurants you'll find. Oasis class ships also have Central Park which features live music every night. There's a lot of balcony cabins, particularly on the Oasis class ships. Some of the balconies are actually considered inside cabins because they overlook open air decks.
