Well exactly the same thing happened to us on Aurora and I hear QM2 as well in 2 different ports. I don't think that is any fault of the ship. Have you seen the size of the warps they use? They are huge. It takes very crazy weather to break those.
Yes, that now makes sense. It's the company, not the airfield. Madeira is another hairy place to land. It's a Category C and so is Genoa. I wouldn't have thought Southampton was but could be wrong. Hong Kong was the best ever!!
Well that must have changed. As aircrew for 16 years we used Southampton all the time and First Officers certainly did landings. It's a perfectly normal airport. We had a scheduled service, LGW / glasgow / Southampton / glasgow / LGW
You have to laugh. One person on FB that I asked what exactly it was that they were demanding compensation for, after all she was still on the ship and sailing home and all that was lost was one port, ie Gib. She answered"You are not on the ship and you have no idea what some of the families on here have suffered!!"
Just reading some of the comments on FB. Unbelievable. Exagerrations, people holding P&O entirely responsible for hitting another ship! Absolutely pathetic. One woman asking if her cruise in January will be affected!!
Exactly the same for us on Aurora in Civitavecchia. Storm just suddenly erupted and was not expected. The ferocity of the wind and waves was quite something. I have heard "Code Alpha" many times, but not Alpha alpha.
I'm sure she could take on enough in Palma. Wonder if it was crew that were injured. It's so like what happened to us in Civitaveccia. We didn't hit anything, but the gangway fell in the water as the lines snapped and then we were held with tugs. Strange weather!
Great film. I have some similar pictures. We were on board too luckily. We were at the door to get off when there was an almighty bang as one line let go and we were all stopped.
I have asked this before and never got an answer. What is it about atriums that seems to bother people. How much time do you spend in an atrium? We don't spend any time, so it would hardly matter if it had a wow factor or not.
Quick shocking about the lift situation Selbourne and glad you said something. Absolutey right.
Yes I wasn't sure how to read. We were the same Our consumption came in at half the price of the package, mind you we don't do soft drinks at all. There are days ashore and days when you possibly aren't well.
I don't know how you work out you would be in credit with those drinks. I worked on £8 x 2 for the cocktails, £8 x 2 for wines, £7 x 2 for beer. I still only get to £44 and then a coffee at £4, is £48. You both have to take the package which is £80, (or more)??
Then there is all the time you are ashore/
