Just asked someone who has just come back from Aurora. They had bars of soap in the bathroom!!

Andy, hadn't seen that. Hmmm. My cruise on Aurora in October is going to be interesting. Haven't cruised since 2019.

I can't imagine there would be that many arriving late. It seems from reading here and FB that most people arrive too early.

So I guess that was an error as most others have said there was a dispenser by the sink.

Well of course they can wash their hands. Use the liquid soap. What a fuss about nothing.

Agree, we like the odd coffee, don't do soft drinks at all, have drinks in the bar early evening, bottle of wine with the meal and maybe one afterwards. The package would be double what we spend and then there's the days when you are off the ship or not feeling well.

Agree. I am happy to eat veggie options, but most of them are quite awful for me.

Good thinking. I confess we always used to go to the port talks in case there was something we didn't know. We never do excursions, preferring to DIY so perhaps that's why they are discontinued. Most people have probably booked already.

Guess that's why I'm not concerned. Don't book these restaurants. to be honest, we haven't cruised since 2019 when the food in the MDR was more than adequate for us. We used to enjoy the Indian and Italian nights in the buffet but they apparently don't do those any more. You can keep the Beach Hut, nothing appeals to me on that menu. Might consider one of the specialty ones if the MDR is no good, but certainly not going to book before we go. Last time, they were coming round to the bar and almost begging people to come to Sindhu.

I don't understand this mad rush to get on board. We usually board around 2pm, go to the cabin dump our hand luggage, go and have a light lunch.

He is about the only one I can think of that actually enhanced our cruise with the commentaries. Mostly the Captain makes no difference to our cruise at all. As long as he is up there doing his job, I don't care who it is, as long as I don't have to have those repetitive "jokes"!😒

Best I've ever known was Captain Box. Marvellous commentaries whilst going up the Bosphorus and also into Venice. Also, charming man to meet and chat to.

But they are the same every day? Surely even he must know some new ones!! Hopefully he is on the big kids ships now and not Aurora 🙂

I don't care who the Captain is on our cruises, as long as it's not the one who makes those pathetic announcements, the same every day and not even funny.

We did a private coach into Rome. 20 Euros return.

I have just had a very minor similar experience. Booked some hotels for a road trip, but husband became unwell. One of the hotels had already charged me as per their booking conditions, but refunded me which I didn't expect.

I suppose when I did it, we spent an hour on the bridge which was fascinating. They don't do that now. My husband also visited the engine room. I have no interest in the galleys or high tea.

Did it for free on one cruise many moons ago. Certainly wouldn't pay for it.

Do you know which airline you are flying with? If not, then there is no way of finding out until they give you the information.

I would hardly call them new. We have been sailing on her since she became Adult only for quite a few years.

Talking of wind, will this Easterly wind every stop. The weather is beautiful, but that keen cold Easterly is awful.

I read up to 4 books when on a long cruise. Imagine having to cart those in your suitcase. The Kindle is marvellous.
