  1. To those who self-disembark, do you register to do that? We have done this on our last 7 cruises and never registered, just didn't put our cases out. Someone on Facecloth is telling me I should be registering and giving me grief. Why on earth should I register to do that. I am taking my own case off?
  2. Me too. Trainers are what I use to walk ashore, not for dinner!
  3. Couldn't agree more. I don't want all these extras. If I want a drink I will pay for it at the time. If I want WIFI I will wait until I'm ashore.
  4. I booked my October cruise on Aurora 2 years ago. It was a move from a Covid affected cruise. £1745 pp for 19 nights. It's been sold out and then on again, then sold out. Last time it came on, it was £2600pp for the same cabin. So I think we are fine. However, not booking early ever again. Will wait and take a late one.
  5. I suppose my feeling is that there are all sorts of things that could make it a waste of money. Lots of ports when you are ashore, not feeling well, so therefore not drinking any alcohol that day/days. Confined to cabin with Covid. etc. etc. At least when you PAYG, you don't have a problem. It would be interesting to see someone write down what they would consume in a day to generate £45 including soft drinks and coffees etc. I just can't see it at all.
  6. I wish I hadn't looked. There are 7 ships in Mykonos on the same day as us. I can hardly believe that's possible! Mind you some of them appear to be arriving in the evening.
  7. I guess it is entirely down to what you want from a cruise. I don't want bells and whistles and noise or seascreens. I want to feel as though I am on a ship, not an apartment building or a shopping mall. We tried Azura and didn't like her at all, so that would rule out anything bigger. The ship is not the destination for us. Like Britboys, we love Andersons and we also like the Crows Nest. I love the big wide Prom decks on Aurora and Arcadia, so they will both do for us.
  8. Well I thought that, so don't understand the Code Breaker thing!
  9. Not sure I understand your question, but if you are going to the USA at all, then you need worldwide cover.
  10. Yes, Aurora is nearly always at Mayflower and we always approach through Dock Gate 10.
  11. It wasn't me who took a supplement, so I'm not sure who you are thinking of? I don't tend to get cruise cough.
  12. OK good. Sailing in October, so will see what's on offer.
  13. Do you still get the usual perks, £50 fee, extra OBC if you book on board?
  14. I would agree with you. My mother spent all night sitting on the Daily Telegraph with a bottle of whisky in 1953. LOL
  15. thinking this through. Accidents or illnesses could happen to anyone. So say, you suffer a heart attack at 8 pm in your cabin. Nobody is going to find you until the following morning where you might be dead. there are all sorts of scenarios. P&O can't be there 24/7
  16. They sound like authorisations and should drop off in about 10 days.
  17. That looks like a nightmare. I'll stick to Aurora 🙂
  18. I don't know what the price is, but the signal is awful and extremely slow. We tend to just use WIFI ashore.
  19. Yes me too. This sounds awful. I was rather glad to see themed nights are back in the buffet? I thought I read they didn't do them any more.
  20. Then I guess that's why. I would turn up together.
  21. So are you a very high tier in Peninsular and your companion lower? We are Caribbean, but usually get 1330.
  22. That's interesting. We are nearly always Deck D on Aurora and I have always had 1300, 1330 or 1400.
  23. Agree, we always do our own thing. Prices for trips are really expensive.
