  1. Please write in to Paul Ludlow. Why they are constantly removing ports from schedules beats me. Never had it happen in all my years cruising, not unless it was weather.
  2. Agree. Used to love the themed nights in the buffet on Aurora, Oriana, Artemis, but sadly they are gone. There's not much atmosphere in the buffet in the evening though.
  3. For those that don't do credit cards - why not get one just for cruising. You simply pay it once you get home. My card gives me other benefits as well.
  4. We have done a few ports in Greece and Croatia, even the Black Sea. On Oriana, Artemis and also Aurora.
  5. Specialty restaurants and excursions if you do those. I don't
  6. Interestingly there are 6 berths in Rhodes and 4 ships scheduled for 14th October. Aurora is still there, but without a time.
  7. Yes, they are authorisations and will drop off at some stage. use a credit card in future and you don't get this problem.
  8. I have just booked with a new agent and I have her number and email. Can contact at any time. Got a good discount too.
  9. Someone mentioned on here recently that Aurora should be doing Croatia in 2025, but that's a long way off.
  10. Agree with everything. Always get a discount and they always have access to all the cabins.
  11. Received this today from Ludlow's office. Thank you for your email. I am sorry for the delay in my response. As you may be aware, we plan itineraries up to two years in advance. The logistics of scheduling for cruise lines is very complex, compliance with local port authorities, itinerary schedules, as well as weather and tidal conditions all control the choice and duration of our stay in any particular port. Port authorities usually accept our request, and then assign berths as we get closer to sailing. In the space of two years, it is inevitable that on occasions as we get closer to sailing certain conditions may change which results having to make amendments to the itinerary. However, I do wish to stress that we naturally avoid doing this and ensure we look for alternatives first before removing any port from an itinerary.Regrettably, the port authorities in both Rhodes and Heraklion have advised that they are unable to accommodate Aurora on the date originally scheduled. We initially intended to replace with Greek ports, however, these also proved unavailable on the required dates. As such, we replaced with Mediterranean ports to follow the theme of the cruise. We are again, very sorry for the change to your itinerary.Thank you for bringing it to my attention that Rhodes is still showing on the map on our website for this cruise. This has been flagged with our IT and Digital teams for their review. Please be assured your feedback has been noted. I do hope that despite this matter, you go on to have an enjoyable time on board Aurora in October.
  12. Azura was enough to put us off anything bigger, so Aurora in October and Bolette in April 2024.
  13. I do find Mr Google very useful in finding new things to do in some of these ports.
  14. I suppose it comes down to what you want. Eating in loads of different places is not why we cruise. Neither is it the daytime entertainment. Just happy to be floating along (or bumping if it's rough!) on a ship, visiting different places and enjoying the sun. We also like to do different ports, so with the Greek places on Aurora in October and a few others we haven't been to on Bolette next April, that's what suits us. If Aurora and Arcadia go, then we will be on Fred or possibly Ambassador.
  15. We would never stay on the ship either. I even quite enjoy the half day in Gib, walking in, having a coffee etc. We did 3 days in the Fjords on one Fred cruise and I'm afraid I thought once you've been down one fjord, they are all pretty much the same. Waiting to be shot down here :0(
  16. OK, so we are nearly always on D Deck forward/mid inside cabin.
  17. Would much rather go to Lisbon than La Corunna. Been there so many times And Cadiz.
  18. I would totally agree about the team on board. I was ill on Arcadia leaving Newfoundland and they were absolutely marvellous. I also work with most of the boys on the Salcombe Lifeboat.

  20. Well let's hope you get there! I can't imagine why they would change it 9 months before the cruise.
