  1. Very well thought out and well-reasoned. I’m not Diamond until next month, but it will be disappointing to not have access. I understood that there is a chorus of the heavenly host, and dancing unicorns serve drinks 😁. But seriously, it sounds nice to be in a place of like minded cruisers.
  2. Wow, this thread is moving quickly! I’m late, but I wanted to say that you and Linda look like a lovely couple. Have a wonderful cruise!
  3. Pretty much, but it’s going to melt after a couple of days (probably). Real winter won’t be here for another 4 to 6 weeks.
  4. Since there’s conversation about Barcelona, one of my favourite things was the Bodega Maestrazgo. It’s easy walking distance from Las Ramblas, and if you’re looking for wine for the ship, it’s ideal. We did a tasting menu, with wine and vermut, which was easily the equivalent of a large supper.
  5. @dani negreanu I was obliviously cooking and preparing vegetables for tomorrow (Thanksgiving) when I sat down and opened the news. I can’t imagine. May peace be restored quickly.
  6. That was a marvellous review! Thank you! Please take us on your Spring cruise!
  7. And here. We are going to put up the Christmas lights this weekend (and leave them off until Advent starts). We have put them up during a snowstorm, which really doesn’t have much to recommend it!
  8. I had the same question- our tour guide, Dora the Explorer said it’s not necessary; apparently American dollars are fine. Mind you, I am not staying overnight, so if you’re going further afield, that might not apply.
  9. I just wanted to confirm that there are still taxis- with a flight to Canada from LAX that afternoon, we want to have everything as seamless as possible, with no waiting for Uber.
  10. You will be perfectly fine, even for formal night. Mediterranean cruises are a bit more formal, but you will still be fine.
  11. They are very adorable! Are you going to keep any, or will they be adopted? Please continue to post more pictures as you can!
  12. @sgmn An author that I am really liking is Louise Penny (I believe Dani recommended her ages ago!) It’s about small town life and murders in a Quebec village. I gather that Three Pines is like Cabot Cove or Midsummer- spending time there is dangerous! There definitely is a Canadian flavour, which I find nice.
  13. This is how I spent yesterday. This is the apple tree after Chris had spent several hours picking. The garden under the tree is a work in progress- we keep having to dig up our neighbour’s poplar roots! Eventually it will be lush. I was going to put delphiniums in, but they’re poisonous to dogs and cats. Any suggestions for a Zone 3 plant? I’m thinking of meadowsweet, for something tall against the fence.
  14. Whether or not you have a prescription, a European pharmacist might not be able to fill it. It’s a question of licensing. I’m not saying they can’t, but as a retired pharmacist you may encounter jurisdictional problems.
