  1. A special elevator can be used to get to the tender deck. Must be able to get on the tender with assistance from crew, but not using the mobility device. Mobility device must not weigh too much (50 pound limit?) to allow crew to put it on and taker it off the tender. If seas are rough, tendering may not be allowed for a person with a mobility device even if allowed in calm waters.

  4. If the 14 day could have been booked as two 7-day cruises, you should have received a cruise credit for each segment (two credits if in a full suite for each segment). This has been true since about 2012. Before about 2012, only one credit would have been given for a 14-day that could have been booked as two 7-day cruises. Yes.
  5. I forget to mention that you cannot transfer the booking to a TA if you have already made the final payment for the cruise.

  8. As mentioned by others, using EZAir for international travel gives the biggest $$$ savings when compared to what the airlines charge, especially when doing air in one direction. For domestic flights, EZAir is usually no better than airline pricing. A flexible EZAir flight booking can be cancelled with no penalty up unto 45 days before the first flight or the cruise starts, whichever comes first. If Princess cancels the cruise, you will get your EZAir $$$ refunded, but if booked with an airline, you will be subject to airline rules which usually require using any credit (less any feea) within a year of when the booking was made. Since bookings with an airline can be made up to 330 days in advance, you might actually have very little time left to use that airline credit. And your alternate use of that airline credit might be for a destination that the airline (or partners) does not fly to. And as mentioned in another post above, if your ship is late in reaching the disembarkation port, Princess will take care of rebooking EZAir flights and there will be no additional cost to you. If booked directly with the airline, you will be responsible to dealing with any needed rebooking and any additional costs. By the way, EZAir does not require flying in on the day of embarkation or out on the day of disembarkation. You can usually select flight days two weeks or more before/after the cruise. And, also, you do not have to fly home from the disembarkation city. For example, you could disembark in Southampton and fly home from Paris. EZAir flights do not cover all of an airline's flights, so you might find better scheduling or routing if booking directly with the airline. And not all airlines are available with EZAir. Southwest may be available, but not with flexible fares.
  9. Other replies have been accurate, but for a first timer need additional explanation. a) A Future Cruise Deposit (FCD) may be purchased for $100 each while on the cruise. This can be done in person with the Future Cruise Consultant, with a form you can leave with the Future Cruise Consultant, or with the Princess app on a smart phone. Each person would need an FCD in their name to be able to use it. The cost of FCDs must be paid with a credit card at the time of purchase, not added to your onboard account. There is no limit to the number of FCDs you can purchase. b) The FCD can be used within a year to make a booking for a future cruise. When an FCD is used, it in most cases it is the entire down payment ($100) needed unless it is time to make payment in full for the new cruise. If you do not use the FCD within a year or have it extended, its cost ($100) will be refunded to the credit card used to purchase it. c) When you take the cruise booked using the FCD, each person who used an FCD will get On Board Credit (OBC) that must be used during that new cruise. The amount of the OBC varies with the type of cabin and the length of the cruise. It can range from $15 for a 3 day cruise in an inside cabin to $150 for a cruise 17 or more days in a mini-suite or full suite. A typical example would be $50 for a 7-day cruise in a balcony cabin. d) If you book a cruise while on a cruise, you will in effect be purchasing an FCD and having that be your deposit unless it is final payment time. e) You can have the booking stay with Princess or have it transferred to your Travel Agent (TA) within 60 days after making a booking while on board. If you have it transferred to a TA that offers discounts or other benefits, your TA will still be able to offer these to you. f) Or you can just purchase FCDs while on the cruise and use them to book a cruise either using your TA or with Princess after returning home. Same OBC would apply for that future cruise. g) With rare exceptions, the pricing on board for a future cruise would be exactly the same with the same promotions as if you made the same exact booking that day while at home. Sometimes, as noted in other posts, a bargain price might be offered if you book the next segment on the ship you are on. It is very rare that a bargain price would be offered on other future cruises unless Princess is desperate to get new bookings. The onboard consultant that found a great discount as reported in post #14 did nothing that any good Princess sales agent or any good TA could not also have done, but not all sales reps or TAs are that good.

  11. Grapefruit juice is available for free at breakfast with a cost at other times unless you have a beverage package. But I do not know if it is juice from red grapefruit.
  12. Agree. One or two screens is all that is needed. That is where we will disagree. Once in the cabin, much more important things (getting ready for dinner, going to sleep, etc.) will be much more on the mind that searching for photos on the TV. And since I have not tried it, I have no idea how easy it is to do on the cabin TV. I do know that when I followed all the prompts on the TV to see my onboard account, it said after about 10 button presses that it could not be accomplished using the TV, that I should use the app instead.

Looking at and ordering digital copies is more likely if someone walks past the screens in the photo center than deciding to spend time in the cabin looking at them on the in-cabin TV. I am not sure that is the reason there are less photographers. The roaming of dining rooms, etc. was stopped as a Covid prevention practice. I cannot speak as to why they have not resumed. Similar to the placing of chocolates in the cabins each evening. Stopped so there would be less steward presence in cabins due to Covid. Not resumed (in this case, probably to save $$$ by not purchasing the chocolates).
  14. Another way to increase profits is to never deliver package drinks ordered via the app. There have been numerous posts by people who ordered a drink and never had it delivered to them.
  15. That would reduce sales to people who do not have free photos from a package. Walking past a photo gallery triggers a "let's look at our pictures" impulse reaction in people who then might order and pay for some photos. But in a cabin, most passengers will not think of taking the time to look at photos on the cabin TV. Result, less sales.
  16. One would think they transfer a reservation for a no longer existing seafood restaurant to the new seafood restaurant, not at random to a steakhouse or Italian restaurant.

I have no doubt that some balcony cabins will open up between now and when you cruise starts. a) If Princess will allow it, ask to be put on a waitlist for a balcony cabin. b) Check balcony availability online at least daily. If you see one becomes available (even as a Guaranty), reserve it with a hold (which means no deposit) and contact Princess to switch to that balcony cabin.
  18. How was the Internet speed? Did you try streaming? If so, how well did it work? Is it 3 prints/person with the package or 3 prints/cabin? Were you able to get regular dishes with the package in place of the fancy ones? Did you take advantage of this perk on those three evenings? If so, how early did you get to the show?
  19. That would be true except the entry level for each category cannot be booked any other way. If, for example Cabin L237 on the CB (entry level BF for balconies) was one price for selecting it with a refundable deposit and a lower price if assigned to you by Princess with a non-refundable deposit. But that is not the case. It is simply taking a whole set of cabins that were previously available at a lower price than the next level and (supposedly) charging the same lower price as before. And that is great for anyone waiting until close to the cruise to book using the Drop & Go rates. But if you want to book a cruise more than 2 months before embarkation, you are paying a higher price than D&G rates and have lost the flexibility you used to have with a booking.
  20. Often while inside the cabin I have the Medallion in a pocket and I am near the door. It does not seem to unlock it if I am inside the cabin as I do not hear the "click" I can hear when outside the cabin as I approach the cabin.

  22. I have often booked a specific cabin at the entry level for a category. To me, it makes no difference if the same size cabin is forward, mid-ship or aft, lower down or higher up. There may be some specific areas I would want to avoid such as under the pool deck. I am unhappy that I cannot book some specific cabins that I have liked in the past because Princess wants to make them only available to let Princess pick your cabin. And the non-refundable aspect is a bummer. o Find a sale and want to rebook the same cruise? Lose that deposit. o Need to switch to the exact same cruise a week later? Lose that deposit.
  23. Have the evening showtimes in the Princess Theater basically stayed the same the entire cruise?
