  1. In the past there have been no "upgrades" reported from a cabin with a balcony to a cabin without a balcony.
  2. For whatever the reasons may be, this is showing that DMW is a failure. People who have booked times cannot be accommodated at the reserved times unless it is when the dining rooms first open. Those who had liked traditional fixed seating times with the same table and same dining companions at the same time every evening cannot come close to replicating that experience now.
  3. Four of the six are quad cabins.
  4. Other than the location you get the bus, there is no pro or con. Those who want the Princess transfer and will be in London before the cruise will choose the Victoria Bus Terminal. Those who fly in the day of the cruise or who have stayed at a hotel near the airport will take the bus from the airport. I suspect more people use the airport transfer because they are flying in the morning of the cruise, not because one bus is better than the other.
  5. Agree 100% (no, 200%). If you only have two people in a cabin, those wall mounted bunks will cause many bruises as parts of your body will hit them often. It is truly not an upgrade if you value comfort.
  6. Chances are the company that Princess uses will have their excursions that day sold only through cruise lines. They may have an excursion that does not involve a cruise line, but if so, those booking it will not be with their friends who booked a Princess excursion. But by checking what they charge on a day there are no cruise ships in port, you can see what the cruise line might add to the fare.
  7. By saying nothing was available the previous day, they meant they had no more seats available to Princess. If you were booking the flights well in advance of the travel date, I would be surprised that they had no more such seats available. EZAir does not change flights on their own. The airlines are the ones changing flights. The same changes would have been made if you had booked directly with the airline.
  8. If there is a problem on disembarkation day, it does not matter when you paid the fare. The EZAir people will help you. Same for when you fly to the port at the start of the cruise.
  9. Are their any PCR tests that can be done on your own? I would think all have to be medically observed at a pharmacy or other medical provider with the sample sent off to a lab to be analyzed..
  10. But it benefits Cruise Critic which in part is sponsored by TAs that advertise with them or their parent company.
  11. When selecting a TA to use, one criterion I use is that the TA has no cancellation or change fees of their own. (cruise line cancellation/change fees cannot be avoided).
  12. Pros: a) Can select seats if the airline would otherwise not allow this before ticket is issued b) Can pay for upgrade if you want one once the ticket is issued Cons: a) No more pricing/cancellation flexibility. Terms will be the same as if you had booked directly with the airline. Note: So far flight prices have not increased for anyone who waiting until final payment time to pay for the flights.
  13. I would expect by October 1 that one of two things will happen: o The testing requirement for vaccinated people will be eliminated. or o The policy for refunds if testing positive will be extended.
  14. Princess did not set this up. They only contracted the company to help answer Medallion questions. The company on its own decided to offer hotels, transfers, etc. You should just make Princess management aware of what this company is doing and Princess will probably have them stop. Princess will care because they are not making money when this company takes hotel and transfer business away from Princess. As far as your hotel reservation being paid to the hotel yet, it might not be yet but would be by the time you check-in if not paid already.
  15. Should not be a problem considering where Ptroxx places the dirty dishes.
  16. And this is why people need to ask others while on a cruise which TAs or Princess PVPs they prefer and why. Since Princess allows a transfer of a booking to a TA for several weeks after the booking is made (unless this is past final payment), I suggest making the booking on the phone with a Princess rep and then search for a good TA to turn the booking over to.
  17. And another reason: If the ship arrives in port too late for your flight home, Princess will rebook your EZAir flight automatically for you.
  18. Reasons people use EZAir: a) Can rebook for lower price up to 45 days before flying/cruise b) If you can cruise before that 45 days, there is no penalty and you get your $$$ back if you had paid c) If Princess cancels the cruise, you get your $$$ back if paid d) For International flights, EZAir can cost significantly less And if you want to arrive at least the day before the cruise, EZAir allows that also.
  19. Actually 4 types. The square ones came as milk chocolate and as dark chocolate. There was also a heart shaped one wrapped in red which was milk chocolate. Yes, there was the round mint one, but not at all like the rectangular one pictured earlier in this thread.
  20. Look at this previous thread on the subject: It looks like the company that Princess hired to help customers with Medallion questions decided on their own to offer hotel and other options. Does not appear that this was authorized by Princess. For those of you who did make a hotel booking with them, what did the credit card web site/statement say was the company making the charge?
  21. There are booking upgrade codes that allow you to do any of the following pre-cruise up to about a week before the cruise: a) Upgrade from standard to Plus b) Upgrade from standard to Premier c) Upgrade from Plus to Premier In all cases it is the entire package, including WiFi and gratuities. For the Premier package, all of its "benefits" (such as the unlock you cabin door while at sea contest) are also included. If your TA or Princess rep does not know what these codes are, tell them to find out as they do exist.
  22. Showed the ticket where? In the dining room? At the tender loading area? If at the tender loading area, being elite means you get on the back of the line there. What you have done is be ahead of the non-elite who are still waiting elsewhere to be directed to the tender loading area.
