  1. No doubt this was booked because EZAir supposedly only shows flight options that allow the passengers to board in time for the scheduled sailing. If Princess now says that is not true for the OP's flight, then Princess should be willing to rebook to a flight acceptable to Princess and not charge the OP any additional fare. ("Should" as in it is morally right, not that it is their way of doing things.)
  2. Can you post a link? Here is what I find on the USA web Princess web site: Vaccinated guests may use a medically observed self-test (sometimes referred to as an at-home test) that meets the following criteria: The test must be a SARS-CoV-2 viral test (nucleic acid amplification test [NAAT] or antigen test) with Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Please note: antigen tests are accepted for fully vaccinated guests but not for unvaccinated guests. The testing procedure must include a telehealth service affiliated with the manufacturer of the test that provides real-time supervision remotely through an audio and video connection. Some FDA-authorized self-tests that include a telehealth service may require a prescription. The telehealth provider must confirm the person’s identity, observe the specimen collection and testing procedures, confirm the test result and issue a report that meets the requirements of acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 test. https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/
  3. Princess never did put mints on pillows. Chocolates, yes. Mints, no.
  4. It will be on CBS this fall. Filming has already been completed and only was on one ship. Winning couple already announced on another thread here on Cruise Critic.
  5. When an excursion does not delivered what was promised, a visit to the excursion desk should be made to describe the problem and request a partial refund.
  6. Did you report this to your cabin steward or the passenger services desk? I would think Princess would have worked on this problem once they were aware of it.
  7. The MedallionNet performance varies by ship and also by position in the world.
  8. Can you give a general idea about pricing? Most at or below $12 or most above $12?
  9. One problem is that many Americans think they should tip in places where it is not customary. When they do this, they are, intentionally or not, trying to change the local culture. And some times they do with the effect that those who get tips from Americans will seek out Americans to serve and ignore the local population because they do not tip. In other cases (Italy comes to mind), Americans will tip much more than the local population will tip for the same service. Japan, China and Australia, for example, are countries without a tipping culture.
  10. The ones on shore that take it from the carts, put in into containers and then load those containers onto the ship are not cruise line employees. (They are in the USA likely well paid union members.) I have no idea if those cruise line employees who are sorting the luggage in the cargo hold and delivering it to the appropriate deck are in the tipping pool or not.
  11. Having paid the corkage fee (now $20) in your calculations, you can bring the bottle to the dining room with you.
  12. If arriving on day of cruise at LGA, I would take the Princess xfer over Uber, taxi, Dial 7, etc. Reason: LGA is still under massive reconstruction. I do not know the current situation, but pre-Covid traffic congestion was so bad at LGA that people had to be bused offsite to a taxi pickup area, limo services could not guarantee when you could be picked up, etc.
  13. On a Princess ship none of this matters. Princess has made the decision for you. A required gratuity of 18% is added to the purchase of a bottle of wine.
  14. Yet you are not tipping the people who actually do most of the work getting the suitcases to your cabin when you reach the pier: o The person who puts your luggage onto the ship o The person who sorts your luggage once on the ship o The person who brings your luggage to your deck o The person who delivers your luggage to your cabin. You are only tipping the person who does the least amount of work, putting your luggage on a wheeled cart and pushing the cart (with also having other people's luggage) 100 feet or less.
  15. If I remember correctly, there is a sign on the building at Terminal 2 (and maybe other terminals?) saying that tipping is not required.
  16. The Ruby leaves Galveston for San Francisco April 14, 2023. The Regal will be in Galveston for the 2023-2024 winter season starting December 17,2023.
  17. The quarantine areas tend to be the entire port side on one deck of a ship.
  18. Not if the cabin shows to be available.
  19. No. There is no benefit for doing the trade as anything you can get with a coffee card you can get with the Plus package and the Premier package.
  20. It used to be that way, but even pre-pandemic boarding could start as early as 11:30 AM but cabins would not be available sometimes until about 1 PM. So, your cabin may be available if you are an early boarder or it may not.
  21. I have never received a confirmation of receiving an E-mail request for stockholder OBC. Not instant. Not long term.
  22. If you have to cancel your cruise, any purchased items such as OBC, shore excursions, specialty dinners, etc. are cancelled and the funds refunded to the original form of payment.
