  1. If you have a package, you do not have to pay the local taxes because you are not paying for the beverages at the time you order them. If you do not have a package and order a beverage, then the local taxes will apply.
  2. If you are referencing use of the App, it is because Princess has decided not to make it available for any of the digital devices we own.
  3. People on a Mediterranean Princess cruise have posted their Internet was no better than what happens in Alaska. Something is wrong that has nothing to do with being far North.
  4. Since the door unlocks (supposedly) as you approach the cabin, the first person in range (and the distance may vary for each person's Medallion) will unlock the door. So if you are walking together towards the cabin, you cannot tell in advance which Medallion will unlock the door. Rules do say that those 18 years old by the end of the promotion period (12/31/22) are eligible. o Casino, if I remember correctly, requires you to be 21 by embarkation day. o Unless worded poorly, the rules do say that a 17 year old who will be 18 by the end of the year can participate.
  5. Continued thanks for the "live reports." Two more questions: What times are the evening shows in the theater? How is Dining My Way working out? If you have a reservation are you being seated when you arrive at the reserved time or do you have to wait a while? Thanks
  6. If you ask for the change, they will give it to you.
  7. Which ship? Quality seems to vary on different ships. - - - - - From the Princess web site: MedallionNet® The Best Wi-Fi at Sea Fast. Reliable. Unlimited. Affordable. Now on all ships. Access the internet everywhere on board so you can text, post photos, video chat and stream your favorite shows, movies, music and sports with ease. Fast and Reliable Internet MedallionNet Wi-Fi sets the industry standard for internet at sea. FaceTime your pooch in the morning. Stream your favorite shows by the pool in the afternoon. Post your Chocolate Journeys dessert from your dinner table. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, you can now stay connected with Wi-Fi coverage as you sail.
  8. By then it may be too late to get the time you want as it may be 100% booked for that time. Reserve in advance now using your best guess (show times can change from what they are now) and only try for a different time if necessary once on baord.
  9. Any idea what this time period is?
  10. I do not reme, ber any ice on our balcony when we cruised Antarctica. Glass will be cold to the touch when it is cold outside. Normal Princess outdoor activities including MUTS. When in Antarctic waters some activities will be limited to eliminate the chance something will go off the ship into local waters. For example, no ping pong.
  11. a) The balconies will be cold when it is cold outside. b) Cabins with balconies will not be unusually cold at night.Just be sure your curtain is closed to help keep cold out. c) Although it is cold in Antarctic waters, remember it is summer in South America, so the part of the cruise in South American waters may have very nice weather for outside activities.
  12. Two more questions: a) Are soaps bars available for the cabin or only the liquid soaps? b) Are they offering the Pub Lunch during your cruise (may have to wait until later in the cruise to answer this one)?
  13. As one example, here is a Princess itinerary that we booked and Princess cancelled during the shutdown. Note the ports are not just major ports that the current itineraries in that part of the world still go to. 24 nights (one segment) -- (not part of a world cruise) Sydney, Australia Brisbane, Australia Townsville, Australia Cairns, Australia Alotau, Papua New Guinea Manila, Philippines Hualien, Taiwan Taipei, Taiwan Ishigaki, Japan Kagoshima, Japan Kochi, Japan Osaka, Japan Tokyo, Japan I cannot find any currently available Princess itinerary that visits some of these ports.
  14. Same way as in the past, call Room Service. Instead of a physical card, the "card" will be part of your on board profile and when you present your Medallion to get a regular or specialty coffee, the server will know you have the "card." You are still limited to the 15 specialty coffees and unused "punches" expire at the end of your cruise.
  15. When a ship the size of the Majestic Princess goes there, ISP is no longer uncrowded.
  16. Humor, Name is 360. So two people can dine there for $360 or $180 each.
  17. Thanks for your reporting about this cruise. What are the production shows on your cruise?
  18. There have been a number of posts by people in this situation and the answer has varied. Among what has happened on various ships: o The spouse/travel partner who is not positive may have a choice of going into quarantine or staying in the original cabin. o The spouse/travel partner who is not positive may have to join the person who is positive. o If staying in the original cabin, the person may or may not be restricted on where he/she can go on the ship. For example, the person may be told he/she has to eat all meals in the cabin.
  19. As posted earlier in this thread. You can get a discount even when you purchase Internet time on board. However it will be 50% off a higher price once on board.
  20. Think of an apartment house on land with 1330 apartments. Do you think the building could go a week without any repairs being needed to any of the apartments? A cruise ship with 1330 cabins is like an onshore apartment house except any needed repairs must be dealt with by onboard personnel using available parts.
  21. Since a single would pay for two people anyway, that would be four fares instead of three.
  22. Whatever the times are this week, they could be the same, earlier or later on a future cruise.
  23. Princess always has the best comedians in their price range.
  24. Turns out it will be the Regal.
