  1. A photo of the original Pacific Princess.
  2. Accessing the web site from a smart phone or a desktop/lap computer?
  3. There was a plane that crashed in England several years ago. The starboard engine caught fire. A cabin attendant called the cockpit and instead of saying starboard, said the left engine was on fire. The cabin attendant was facing the rear of the plane so the starboard engine was on her left. The captain assumed left meant port and shut down the port engine which was the one that was not on fire. Down went the plane.
  4. Also four letters" even So even numbered cabins are on the left (port) on Princess ships.
  5. Same story about an accountant that retired. His slip of paper read "Debits on the left, credits on the right."
  6. When I look at that same cruise, I see no OBC for the Inside cabin standard pricing. I checked without and with signing in. I wonder if you have some special offer that is not available to everyone.
  7. For USA sailings (OP is on an Australia cruise), Princess allows up to 10% of passengers to not be vaccinated (subject to requirements of countries visited.)
  8. Do you already have a reservation without the Plus package and you want to add it or are you looking at a new reservation and comparing the standard and plus pricing? If a new reservation, normally any OBC perk would be the same with or without the Plus package. If you have an existing reservation without the Plus package but do have OBC, then looking at current Plus pricing would include current perks which may not include any OBC. On the other hand, there are booking codes to upgrade an existing Standard priced booking to be a Plus booking and would not cause the loss of any original perks such as OBC. When you speak with Princess (or your TA), make sure they know you want to add the Plus package, not cancel what you have and rebook.
  9. The OP is in the UK and apparently reaches a UK rep on the phone faster than we can reach a U.S. rep on the phone.
  10. The itineraries for the Ruby this winter from Galveston probably are about what the 2023-2024 itineraries will be. The 7-day itineraries this coming winter are about the same as what CCL and RCI have. There are a limited number of ports that can be reached from Galveston on a 7-day cruise. I would not expect the ship homeporting in Galveston will be one of the newest Princess ones. Princess left Galveston last time because the competition with similar itineraries resulted in less profits than if the ship had a different home port. The only reason Princess was in Houston (Bayport) for a couple of years was that the port "bribed" Princess to cruise from there because they had built a cruise terminal and no company wanted to use it. The port gave Princess a fee to use Bayport as well as waiving a bunch of normal port charges and giving Princess a share of parking revenues. When the two year contract was over, Princess stopping using Bayport. NCL, also "bribed," was there for a year and also left when Princess did. The terminal building is now used for imported car storage and no longer has the equipment needed to serve as a cruise terminal. Caribbean Princess docked at Bayport
  11. Part of your decision for this needs some questions answered first: o Will you be booking all the cabins or will the other people in the group be making their own reservations? If others will be making their own reservations, it would be better to use a non big-box TA (that discounts and/or adds perks). If this is the case, you would work with the TA to set up the group, but let the others contact the TA to make their individual reservations. o Are the others going also experienced cruisers? If they are first time cruisers and will have a number of questions when booking and may need some "hand-holding" along the way, better to use a non big-box TA that is used to such "hand-holding" and will be better able to work with the various people in your group than a big box rep usually can do.
  12. What this refers to is that TAs can reserve a group of cabins on various cruises and thus get a group rate which lowers what the TA must pay Princess for the cruise. The good TAs will share that discount with you. Other TAs will just consider the discount as more commission for themselves. It is only a group in that the TA has set up set sell x number of cabins. The people who book them do not in any way, shape or form need to be associated with anyone else in the group. For what the OP needs, a TA who has cabins like this set up can just sell slots to the OP's group or set up a special group for them.
  13. You have 60 days from when you made a booking directly with Princess to transfer it to a TA as long as you have not yet made the final payment. Yes, the TA would get his/her commission if you transfer the booking.
  14. At holiday times (Xmas, NYE, spring break) and over a summer when school is out, there will be more children on Princess than at other times of the year. During school times, there will be relatively few children on a Princess ship. So unless February has a major school Australian holiday at the time you want to cruise, the ship will not have an overabundance of children.
  15. Per Mr. Google: This Marie Rose sauce recipe is made from good quality mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and a hint of seasoning. A simpler version can be made by merely mixing tomato ketchup with mayonnaise. So I would not count on Princess providing what you want with the quality/taste you are expecting.
  16. I would call the airline before calling Princess. If they were the ones who changed the flights, they should be willing to change back without any change in fare.
  17. First, thanks very much for an honest and thorough report of your cruise. You should have received by E-mail a post cruise survey from Princess. If you did receive it, I hope you gave them the same feedback that you gave in this thread, On Princess if you are vegetarian, it is best to let your headwaiter know this. Each evening he will bring to you the next day's menus and you can see what dishes besides the one vegetarian dish can be modified to be vegetarian. With the advance notice they can do this for you. Obviously, a steak entree cannot be made vegetarian, but, for example, onion soup, which usually has a beef base, can be made with a vegetarian base. Your request is stored by cabin number, so if you have a different waitstaff the next evening, just let them know that you have pre-ordered and what your cabin number is. It is against U.S. law to bring any fruit from a cruise ship into the country and there are stiff fines for doing so if you are caught doing this. So you should not be doing this either to consume it yourself or to give it to someone on shore.
  18. It is not noisier being near the lifts. When there is noise, it is because people are talking too loud as they walk past your cabin and that can happen anywhere in the hallway, no matter how close or far you are to the lifts.
  19. Are you on a ship now? Pre-cruise I do not think you can set that up.
