  1. I hate managers who say that. makes them seem like they do not care to investigate and do their job like ask others. sometimes a person might not know what is right, just what is wrong.
  2. okay okay and update. The lure of the $1 cruise kept bugging me so I went back and struggled for a few more tries and the all of a sudden it work. I got my 14 day r/t Alaska from Vancouver that does glacier bay twice as well as the ports. Very good pricing on the older but interesting Grand Princess. so I suppose it was meant to be but hoping I let some of you know how the web is messed up a lot today
  3. I enjoyed the food when I was on in April. I did speciality a lot. I found the layout of WJ odd compared to the other ships in the class. well glad you are home. I like Symphony of the seas a lot and will sail her a second time in the med next year. toodles
  4. well yes I have heard this too but I suppose I just did not want to bother the staff. Besides, I did enjoy the various flavored butter and bread which one can get in MDR too.
  5. giovanni's was good and so was Chops. I like the specialty places for lunch as they are a bit cheaper. Only open on sea days.
  6. well on the Wonder thread it seems like Indy has a lot of issues with debarkation as opposed to Wonder OTS - which came in at 3am. Feel bad for the Indy folks this week

  8. while I understood I could do this, I felt it was more work and would the food arrive hot.
  9. yup I agree. I only did one dinner and I was surprised at the odd selections and small quantities I did find BLU great for breakfast. I also agree the tables are too close together but was lucky to have dinner by a wall. the price of Aqua just is not worth it. I did not like getting bothered every afternoon with the snacks, but I did like the flowers and the special pass to go out on the bow of the Equinox when we were docking in Antiqua.
  10. hello all. Thanks for the daily. FYI, if anyone is thinking of looking or booking over on Princess for the $1 deposits today only, well it is a mess. I spent 2 hours going around and around and getting a room and then not getting to put payment in etc etc. Just a real mess.
  11. Exactly and if going to Europe, best to try and go 2 days ahead - same with Australia. This year given covid testing requirements, I chose to avoid Europe. Hoping for the best next year
  12. thank you I mean I tried for 2 hours solid over and over again, Every step forward meant two steps back. oh well. I have 8 other cruises on other lines to various places. I was just excited for $1 but it just ain't worth it. I do know when they say no rooms, it is not true. Plus I see the Princess is keeping some insides for guarantee only and will not let one book a room on the upper decks.

  14. I am actually surprised the border control and immigration was letting folks off so early even with facial recognition they were really at the port that early. I was watching on ptz at 2:30 am and she came in early but the docking was slow. It looked like no one there to take the lines and tie up the ship
  15. OMG I have spent over two hours dealing with all of the below: logon, password reset, Tring to select ship and room only to have to hit reset button many times. Room is there, then it is Not etc etc. Then I get a room and various steps like Vac Prot and transfers only to get hung up at final payment. I try to pay, and it does not like my info which is correct, then it won't take cc which is correct. Then it only wants FULL payment and then it says sorry problem I have hit the reset button close to 75 times and after 2 hours I have NO reservation and any of 5 things for Alaska. The web site will try to tell you rooms not available only to go around again and I see plenty. Never in my many years of booking have I ever seen such a darn mess. Princess get you act together with the website And no using a TA is not the answer either as they most likely are having issues and I do not want to spend a lot of time on the phone So, getting a cruise for a deposit of $1 is just not in the cards as the website is very very wonky and messed up good luck to the rest of you. My last cruise was in 2009 and I thought I would give Princess a try. Nope I give up.
  16. aw my post came after yours. I too noticed the ship did not get into Coco Cay. I suppose all the officers and all the crew as well as passengers will be glad this trip is over. I hope you at least had some nice Turkey on Turkey day, Sorry to hear about all the issues. At least you have a calm captain. In fact, he was the same captain who was on the Ovation when in 2019 there was an eruption on white Island and about 20-30 passengers did not make it back. Well I for one am surprised at all the rocky weather in Caribbean this time of year. best of luck to all. At least the ship did not hit anything or have a fire.
  17. well this explains why when I checked Cruisemapper this morning (sat 26th) I notice the ship was really way down in the Caribbean and I thought oops website is wrong again. Then I looked just now at this thread and it explains why the ship is located where it was. And then last Monday I did not see the ship in Coco Cay either. Just not a good week for Wonder I suppose.

  19. I too feel a good waiter should know when to interrupt a conversation and best way is to smile and hold up hand waiting to be acknowledged. I do know ratings are big thing for them. Let me share recent experience. So I had two appetizers which I enjoyed then came the entree. After watching several tables in lower level not eat and send back the same gnocchi dish, I looked at mine and took one taste and was unhappy. So I got up to leave and three wait staff including the manager of MDR immediately came over. They were most upset and pleaded with me to stay. I politely said nope I will just go to WJ and mentioned the lousy gnocchi dish. what happened next was alarming to me as well as some staff in WJ. The MDR manager about 10 minutes after I got my food in WJ frantically yes he did approach me and again begged to see what he could do to get me back to MDR. I told him their menu that day was not very good for entrees and that I wanted to enjoy my veggies in WJ. I mentioned seeing others send back gnocchi as well. It was only when I told him I would not give MDR any bad ratings that he finally left. But nearby staff all came over to see what happened and why manager of MDR was up in WJ. so I really think too much pressure in MDR for ratings is causing behavior changes and it will get worse.
  20. I agree if it sounds too good it is most likely not. do not fall for the usps emails or fedex that say they have an urgent package.
  21. Not very well explained. I know it meant for Mon starting at 3am EST and not sure if any 2024 cruises are eligible. they say it can be combined with Black Friday but the $1 is for Nov 28th only good luck
  22. Yes and pretty decent actress too. Did a nice Hallmark movie.
  23. nice touch for CCL to select daughter of Kathie Lee who do so many commercials and was the face of the cruise line for a few years. Would have been a nice touch to share with the actress who played Vicki on tv show. Have two godmothers.
