  1. aw enjoy your cruise. I did the Zuiderdam in 2011 for Thanksgiving and in the buffet area everyone had to keep begging for larger portions of potatoes and stuffing on Thanksgiving. I assume it could be same in MSR so tell the waiter that Americans like large portions. good luck
  2. yes fla is gloomy today as I watch various ships leave. Perhaps in the distance say around 6pm you might see lights of the Wonder OTS in the distance as she left 1/2 hour ago.
  3. wow this is the best I idea I have seen in a while. What is entertaining is the cats looking at it.
  4. Its looks down right ugly. I just watched on PTZ the Wonder OTS leave P Canaveral too. Even Tampa is cloudy but not as ugly as P Everglades. the water is moving and I noticed when N Amsterdam left, she had a tug next to in case it was needed
  5. I found the customer service as well as the overall vibe on Celebrity to be quite good. but as for perks, well I was not overwhelmed. I got more being Aqua than I did elite. I sail on 5-6 different lines so for me perks are not important. I am half way to Pinnacle but I do like HAL and NCL as well.
  6. I would imagine having to dine with strangers is not something a lot of captains really like to do. Heck some won't even do Captain's corner either. Had 3 this year that did not.
  7. um okay I guess I will proudly never be a pinnacle as I sail on 4-5 different cruise lines. I do not believe in loyalty just for the perks. I am however, half way to pinnacle with 3 crystal blocks which I cherish more than darn drinks or lounges. Went to Diamond Lounger on 4 ships this year and everyone looked bored and got no smiles either. I prefer to enjoy my balcony which is what I really pay for. Did not really like CK that much either. One day there will be too many D plus and Pinnacles for RCI to handle.
  8. let's face it. MTD just is a mess on RCI ships. Not so much on Celebrity. I would start earlier and never long lines. RCI look at your sister cruise line and see why they are doing it okay and you are NOT. But lucky the buffet at night is fairly good and quick. Good option IMHO. Faster and quieter
  9. well it did me no good to show up early in Cape Liberty Bayonne as they shoved everyone over to the uncovered parking by lying to me that tie garage was for handicap. I mean it is a 4 level garage. Once I was on board, around 12:30 I was at the back of ship watching the late folks get to park in the garage. Still, in Bayonne, they did not adhere to times and just let the gates flow open. Same thing in Seattle and FLA ports.
  10. I feel that it would cut down on all the announcements of lazy folks. Go back to the old way and do everyone at once and see the crew and crowds to make you realize yes gathering at muster for more than a minute is serious.
  11. on Ovation in 2019 I was in an inside room next to white space. Well, it turned out to be the crew stairwell and also dirty dish area. And for some reason they like to lean at 1am - 2am as well as run up and down those steps. So after a couple of nights, I complained and it took 2 tries before they put a sign up for crew to NOT run and not Vacuum after 11pm.
  12. I just have done the Wonder and I understand what you mean. I just got off the Equinox Celebrity and she had a very nice library mid ship with a lot of nice seats. I too like to read a book while eating at buffet and to do this I have to go early or late otherwise I get glared at for reading by some even if in a table for 2.
  13. very nice to see the again. He is good captain and speaks slow and likes to explain things well. I had him on Ovation in 2019 first cruise in Alaska. Sure hope he puts the stabilizers out for you trip over the next few days.
  14. hoping the captain will put the stabilizers out for you. You have a great captain Loy as I had him on Ovation in Alaska in 2019. And it figures storms are still brewing in early Nov when they should be easing back. Hope the Aqua show and Ice shows still happen as they are both GREAT.
  15. aw yes the downsize of large family groups or other groups who swarm the ship and take up a lot of space instead of spreading out. I have to laugh how they also try to get 3 rows to themselves. quite the show in itself. But seriously MOST of the time no issues with solarium.
  16. most days the ships have same boring muffins and bagels. I do think the variety of breads and various butters (esp on X ships) are better.
  17. yup I agree and not just RCI but Celebrity. I did not even like Coastal Kitchen or Blu that much. Fancy does not equate to taste in my opinion. Most ships the buffet is getting better and faster and it quieter and nicer.
  18. agree. I hope I can still order 3 appetizers though.
  19. well come to think about it she might have been head of housekeeping as she got it resolved really fast and apologized.
  20. I was on her in Fla week 6 and loved the solarium which was big and laid out differently.
  21. I am still surprised it is even on order but time will tell. given the name Utopia, it would be perfect as an all adults ship with different dining options and perhaps sneak a Northstar or Viking crown into the plans.. make it different than current Oasis but not like Icon.
  22. Yup agree but as some have said. RCI is competing with all inclusive resorts too. there are folks that will switch back and forth between sightseeing trips and just resort like vacations.
