Just off Odyssey - Rome to Greek Isles
voyager70 replied to uvadover's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Appreciate the review. Considering this itinerary next year. -
Hearing about storing suitcases under the bed was one of the best cruising tips I ever received . I can’t tell you how many cruises I went on before I heard about storing suitcases under the bed, and just ended up stuffing them in the closet wasting way too much precious space.

I’d never be allowed to board

Better to stay pre-cruise in Orlando or Cape Canaveral?
voyager70 replied to wrg's topic in Florida Departures
We’ve only cruised out of PC a handful of times but like to do a one way car rental to Cape Canaveral and get a hotel within a short distance to the port. Cocoa Beach has several reasonably priced hotels, and with a car it’s super easy to find good restaurants and there are a couple Publix supermarkets in the area as well. Car rental locations have complimentary shuttles to the port. -
Would you PAY for towel animals?

I honestly couldn’t care less if I got them or not. The novelty wore off years ago. -
What is your fav ship non Oasis class ?
voyager70 replied to minnie00's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Freedom, Voyager and Quantum class. I actually prefer all three of these over Oasis class. -
That was an extremely generous tip. I can see tipping extra if you are a single staying in a double occupancy room where the auto grats only cover one person’s tip but a studio is designed for single occupancy. I may have tipped a little extra if the service went above and beyond but if the steward was disappointed with a $120 additional tip he was out of line.

PAYING for Pizza in Sorrento’s
voyager70 replied to Slidell_Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’ve seen some very long lines at Sorrentos late at night when people are heading back from the bars. Anything tastes good in that state, and most probably wouldn’t have a problem paying a buck or two. Those days are long gone for me, so it’s a hard no, even though I agree the pizza is much improved from years ago. -
Concierge Club vs Diamond Lounge vs Suite Lounge
voyager70 replied to thethreeofus's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I too remember the “Nightly Diamond Event “. It was started after D’s were kicked out of the CL, and people were upset about losing this perk. Before the dedicated D lounges were created. If I recall correctly it offered very low quality free wine and champagne, and a 25% discount on all other drinks. Don’t remember any hot or cold food offerings. -

This. When I became D around 2007 (ish) we absolutely had access to the CL. -
Level 4 Travel Advisory for Haiti
voyager70 replied to orville99's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Same here. Loved the “old” Labadee much more than the “amped” version. Same with Coco Cay. But I realize it’s all about the $$ for Royal and they make a whole lot more on the new versions.
