  1. Hope you get good neighbors. My HOA banned owners from renting several years ago after a couple bad experiences.
  2. Dum Dums have been around forever! Love them. I fondly remember them from my childhood in the 70’s, and both my bank and dry cleaners still keep a basket on the counter.
  3. Appreciate the review. Considering this itinerary next year.
  4. Hearing about storing suitcases under the bed was one of the best cruising tips I ever received . I can’t tell you how many cruises I went on before I heard about storing suitcases under the bed, and just ended up stuffing them in the closet wasting way too much precious space.
  5. We’ve only cruised out of PC a handful of times but like to do a one way car rental to Cape Canaveral and get a hotel within a short distance to the port. Cocoa Beach has several reasonably priced hotels, and with a car it’s super easy to find good restaurants and there are a couple Publix supermarkets in the area as well. Car rental locations have complimentary shuttles to the port.
  6. I honestly couldn’t care less if I got them or not. The novelty wore off years ago.
  7. Doable, but MIA and nearby traffic can be and often is a zoo. If possible I’d go with a little later flight.
  8. Freedom, Voyager and Quantum class. I actually prefer all three of these over Oasis class.
  9. I’ve experienced this as well. People either pay no attention to the request or just don’t care. Very inconsiderate. Unfortunately that seems to be the norm in today’s society.
  10. That was an extremely generous tip. I can see tipping extra if you are a single staying in a double occupancy room where the auto grats only cover one person’s tip but a studio is designed for single occupancy. I may have tipped a little extra if the service went above and beyond but if the steward was disappointed with a $120 additional tip he was out of line.
  11. Good to know. I’ve used mine on specialty coffees before but never at the Spa Cafe. I’ll have to try that!
  12. I’ve seen some very long lines at Sorrentos late at night when people are heading back from the bars. Anything tastes good in that state, and most probably wouldn’t have a problem paying a buck or two. Those days are long gone for me, so it’s a hard no, even though I agree the pizza is much improved from years ago.
  13. As much as I love cruising I can’t imagine (nor would I ever want to) spending as much time on a ship as Super Mario or even some of the pins on these boards do. I get homesick too easily and also like to mix in some land trips for a little variety. Whatever floats your boat, as they say 🙂
  14. I forgot about that. I guess the captain gig didn’t work out. Looks like he’s going to cause plenty of drama though!
  15. I too remember the “Nightly Diamond Event “. It was started after D’s were kicked out of the CL, and people were upset about losing this perk. Before the dedicated D lounges were created. If I recall correctly it offered very low quality free wine and champagne, and a 25% discount on all other drinks. Don’t remember any hot or cold food offerings.
  16. This. When I became D around 2007 (ish) we absolutely had access to the CL.
  17. Same here. Loved the “old” Labadee much more than the “amped” version. Same with Coco Cay. But I realize it’s all about the $$ for Royal and they make a whole lot more on the new versions.
  18. I had a 6 hr layover at Dulles en route to Rome once. Wasn’t fun but at least we had Rome and the Med to look forward to. Have a great trip and look forward to your pics as always!
  19. Couldn’t agree more. I really wish they’d get rid of Gary but as far as Bravo is concerned he’s gold so I’m afraid we’re stuck with him and his disturbing antics.
